They were cartoonish in presentation but incredibly witty with a sarcastic social commentary. You knew he was SMART. This song felt lazy and formulaic. The label wanted "the whacky first single where you dress up", and he was bored of that (and on drugs too obvs, but the drugs didn't stop him writing Mockingbird, Mosh, LTS, Bully, Yellow Brick Road etc. He just didn't WANT to do this one.)

Same with Em, he shows his goofy self as well as the gangster, the MC, the woke... Etc. Also I don't really think it's the drugs (discombobulated for example lol) , I mean he is literally like that, but the drugs might have pushed it a bit further, that's it.

They'd come on MTV and NO ONE was/is doing stuff like this, just fun stuff that appealed but knew that he was a rapper RAPPER that is respected among his peers. There is one song that I HATED. The Real Slim Shady, I could not listen to that song. Until about 5 years ago. It's fun, I'll sing to it. He tapped into every corner of Rap and mastered it all.

The silly shit brings in people that would not normally even look at hip-hop. It's just a song to let go and not really think too deep. Everyone needs that silly shit outlet just to let go before going back into the real stuff. I know it's hard to see when your looking for deep bars and talent, but it's a part of Em that a lot of people love and make him a person.

Em isn't a one note rapper like so many other rappers out there, even some of the best, most of the time he goes crazy and sometimes he just likes to have fun and troll the fuck out of people. Em knows full well this song is trash, that's the whole point. This is the same person that put Fack on his greatest hits album and to this day references that song as one of his best.

I think “just lose it” was suppose to be his “the real slim shady” song. It was suppose to be his radio song and keep the buzz alive for his albums. The radio stations were a lot more strict about subject matter back then to. I saw an interview that em did that he said he hates doing songs like that but he has to so he can stay on the radio. These days he doesn’t need the radio he’s too big, plus there’s social media.

Some of the beats you consider wack were the hardest beats back in the day. Its just different, something you have can have fun to. He is good at having a song for everyone on his albums. Hes got his songs about girls, songs about drugs, storytelling, politics, talking his shit, funny outlandish stuff, he does it all. I think thats how he has such a large variety in his audience.
