Posting in this morning on YT, had to post it here 1st though, this was so DOPE!

METALLICA - MASTER OF PUPPETS - BARS!!!!!!!

Comments

Same. Slipknot, megadeth, cradle of filth were heavy in my cd chamber before eminem 50 touched my soul and opened me up to the beautiful world of Bars.

Austin Vazquez

Second this notion, maybe the best Metallica song ever done!

A-A Ron

Yeah I’ve always liked Metallica 🔥🔥🔥🔥

TipToe

I think Nothing else matters and sad but true should be a later reaction after he gets a feel for the bands mainstay hard rock, then let him get caught of guard properly lol

Jason Lawson

Yes, do the music video well after only if you want to have the visual help with the story play. First and foremost listen to audio maybe with lyrics and ride the instrumental and pick out the lyrics

Jason Lawson

This album is fire along with other albums I loved seeing you Vine to the guitar solos "Kirk Hammett" is an amazing guitarist one of the best in the world. Also to answer another question"James Hettfield" wrote the lyrics to this song the lead singer of the group. Also these other tracks on that album are amazing as well "The thing that should not be" "Welcome Home (sanitarium)" "Leper messiah" "Orion" (all instrumental no lyrics but amazing to vibe out to)

Mike Ackerman

Dear lord Stevie you gotta check that new yela album mud mouth it’s insane 🔥🔥🤘🤘

GS Performance

Great song and reaction - more Metallica would be great! One, Nothing Else Matters all the hits

Aj Lui

Sick reaction man, was great seein you bobbin to the riff, Metallica is great...but a lot of their best stuff is back in that weird era of recording technology and the playback technology not syncing up or somethin like that, so the feel is gonna be pretty raw for their older stuff, that being said they are a sick band. As others have said, One is an amazing song as well. In Flames is another older band that I have this weird feeling you might like for some reason, their discography is very long, they started in the 80s and still put out albums pretty consistently.

JAAB

And Eminem samples the guitar on Same Song and Dance 🎸

Memo

I think I read someplace Metallica was Tupac favorite rock group

Robert Shock

You have to check out One from Metallica.. what they sing about on that song is dope n it sounds so good lol fr

Tony Spence

Man appriciate you expanding to metal, metallica is always gonna be my nr 1 band, they were so far ahead in the 80s with their music and those first 4 albums is the best, glad you enjoyed them 🤘👍👍

Bargard

I grew up on metal before I discovered hip hop. To this day, I believe Master of Puppets is the greatest album of any genre ever made!

William Black

Love this reaction! Metallica One, Fade to Black, Sanitarium or Sad But True Other metal / rock bands to get into. Alter Bridge, Tool, Alice in chains

Ryan Grant

This video is what finally got me to join the Patreon. Been on the fence for a while, but watching you go from not really feeling the sound to pure enthusiasm for the lyricism and message was dope as hell. Much respect from me for going outside of your comfort zone and respecting genres and artists that are new to you

Brandon Dougherty

All this being said, Metallica gets flak for losing their balls and turning too mainstream. Which i agree to an extent. But their influence is undeniable and skill is almost unmatched. Wait til Stevie get wind of Megadeth , Iron Maiden , and other bands . Im a big metal head with a diverse ear lol I could recommend too many

Jason Lawson

So I know a lot of people who love them but I’ve never given their music a chance. What would you suggest to someone like me or Stevie as a very first listen to introduce us to the band?

Mrs. Smith

Mannnn... If you want some rock bars, check out Tool. Forty-six & 2 is a good place to start. They have bars that'll have you thinking about how life works and shit. Lol.

Chris Ogden

YES! I was just thinking I really wanna see Stevie react to Tool! I think he will fuck with them

Mike

I waited the entire video...you missed saying it. "Cocaine is a hell of a drug..." -Rick James

Robert Crowley

That whole album is dope

Mike Ackerman

Would love more Metallica reactions. You said you love unpredictability, they are one of the best at that. So many different switches n drops etc.

Gary Raffa

Em n Metallica were so influential during my childhood n I still fuck with them to this day

Gary Raffa

All my friends that are strictly just hip hop all seem to fuck with Metallica. They are amazing. Talk about longevity

Gary Raffa

metalica one

Heavy

If u like these poetic lyrics from them u need to react to Metallica - the unforgiven!!!

Tobias Persson

For those of you who are thinking about going over Metallica's history? Just a few things to keep in mind 1) They are known for "long intros" 2) They are known for "transitions" that come out of nowhere. 3) Due to the band's "mentality over production" at the time, they LOWERED the Bass-levels, making a lot of their "earlier stuff" sound a little distorted and "High-pitched". The reasoning (at the time) was that the audio should focus simply on the guitar over everything else. It wasn't until their "Black Album" that the production shifted in the booth, restoring the bass-levels to their proper setting that the "audio quality" actually improved.

Herrzimm

Diving into Metallica? Well, then by all means, "Justice For All" is one of the most relevant songs ever. "Whiplash" has to be one of the most thrilling headbanging song. "Nothing Else Matters" shows a side you would never expect. The list goes on and on. If you think diving into Em changes the way you hear Hip-Hop, then Metallica will FORCE you to shift gears on what "Heavy Metal" really is about.

Herrzimm

I love this because Metallica is my fav rock band, Em fav rapper haha....

Chris Cox

Bro, real talk.. I'm a heavy metal fan first, and been so for an age and a half.. Got into it FIRST because of lyrics/context, and was recently pleasantly surprised that rap/hip-hop got bars! Honestly always shrugged it off as cool-sounding, but tackles nothing but fun shit, drugs, sex.. Etc. Which is not bad, but to me, that's what that genre represented because of not only who I was exposed to, but more of how I listened to it.. And yeah, Eminem is the one that opened up my eyes and ears to this fact that this music can "also" be deep, meaningful and at times even literally heavy-sounding! Glad to see you finally getting the mirror image of my realization, and hope you dive in more of such! Very cool reaction bro.

Feras

BTW Metallica is pretty much the Eminem of Rock lol

Jason Lawson

Metallica is the Eminem of the metal genre, just as much as Eminem is the Metallica of hip-hop

Feras

Def one of my fav reactions and bands. Do One next for Metallica. But really you have a huge catalog there

Jason Lawson

Took the words out of my mouth, I hope so to 🤞

Rhys John

You know how when those atomic bombs go off and it's all silent for a second and then everything goes to hell? That's what the first part of this reaction was: Stevie listened to a bit of it, realization hit his face, then...BOOM! How many times did we go back? Top 5 reactions! I was just talking about Battery today, too... weird

Amanda Eddings

I lowkey hope that Stevie will encounter Tool in the future, with his analytic skills and breakdowns i think he would be mindblown...it takes time to understand but after that, its life changing...and also very appealing musically

catfishh

Agree 💯

Stephen Thompson

Stevie, if you're going to check out One by them, like tons of comments want you to, please dont do the music video. It takes away from the song since it intertwines clips/audio from a movie and pulls attention away from the music.

DesertKate Walker

Yes, but DONT DO THE MUSIC VIDEO! Its not a real music video, it intertwines clips/audio from a movie and wrecks the value of the song/ruins EVERY reactor's reaction to it because they arent able to appreciate the song.

DesertKate Walker

Omg, I just wrote a comment breaking that down, musta been typing when you posted yours 😅

DesertKate Walker

What makes it even doper, the whole instrumental is a metaphor for drug use! I dont remember the exact order and I can't find where I read it again. But basically, the first beat is the high, then when the instrumental breaks down it's the calm and relief after the high, then the next is the itch to get high again, then the high comes back and that's how it ends. Glad you checked this out, Stevie! This whole Metallica album "Master of Puppets" is 🔥! I grew up listening to it, I recommend checking out "Sanitarium", "Leper Messiah", and "Battery". Though, I dont think you'll find one with more bars than Mastr of Puppets, you might find them more sonically pleasing and Metallica's pretty much guaranteed to have a guitar solo and/or instrumental break down in every song.

DesertKate Walker

Will a Metallica fan tell me if my interpretation of the slow instrumental in the middle represents getting a fix/high? That’s how I see it. Loved the reaction, I acted the same way the first time I heard it not long ago. Only recently started appreciating metal.

Mrs. Smith

I loved your reaction. Please do Metallica - one next You'll love it!

Stephen Thompson

WW I

Richard Waters

Nah. For Whom the Bell Tolls is about world War II. Iwojima I think. One is about a soldier in Vietnam hit by a landmine.

Jabba WalkiiE

I grew up on them bro. Blasting in my headphones before kickoff. They have MANY MORE that will impress you. Not only lyricist, but musicians at the TOP in 1990

Mike Morgan

One is about World War. Not Vietnam

Anthony Anderson

Stevie you were riding on the rock, man. You like Metallica? Check out One by them. It's about Vietnam.

Jabba WalkiiE

Might be my favorite reaction.

Richard Waters

Yes. They're talking about drugs. Addiction. The band struggled with crazy bad alcoholism, leading to this song.

Jabba WalkiiE

Sad but True. Next. Somebody tip him for that.

Robert

Bruuuuuuuuh been listening to Metallica since I was 12. I was all about metal before I knew about bars

Jabba WalkiiE

Also, master of puppets is THE SHIT

Ace Adame
