IM LOOKIN FOR A DOPE PC

Anyone in the family got the hook up on PCs. Lookin to get a dope one built but I don't know shit about computers. Wanted to ask the family 1st, I know we got some techies in here! 💪🏾💪🏾

What are you looking to do? If it's gaming it's gonna be real hard to find a video card. You would. probably be better off buying a pre-built from Alienware or cyber power pc. I am a huge PC nerd. I have built my own pcs for 20+ years. Lmk and I'll hook you up

Eric Strickland

The post above is a link to a western digital nas server listed on Amazon. It has 4 bays for hard drives. You buy your own drives for this one. Although they do sell a 24tb model(drives already in the nas) for just under $1,000. The cheaper option allows you to add to your storage in segments. I would recommend getting 2 drives at first so you can still have a drive backing up data on. I also recommend getting the exact same hard drives preferably NAS drives(they are rated for continuous use and will generally last longer)

NES servers sound awesome, where can i get 1?

Jim

Nooooo.....Overpriced and paying for a brand.

Jim

Ricky St. Augustine- love it, hahah thanks for the support. I’m a UX designer so I guess we just have a different perspective than most. Glad some else on here can see the value in a simple and clean product that offers a turn key solution to anything / everything a content creator may need.

Michael Dumaine

I’m a software developer, and I completely agree with you on the longevity, consistency, and effectiveness of apple products. A lot of great PCs around, but Even the best ones I’ve used didn’t make it past 5 years. You might pay more for Apple, but it’s value equals out over the increased lifespan. I know he asked specifically for PC, but I replied to this because the hate you got annoyed me lol you’re in good company I promise

Ricky St. Augustine

I thought you said a dope MC at first and I was like BRUH, you know Big Moose got u homie

David Frericks

But they are shit qulaity parts. Never go pre build

MrTaxSeason

Actually pre builds are the way to go right now, with all the crazy shortages and inflated prices you can find some really good deals

BeenzTTV

There’s a lot of good advice here so far EXCEPT the apple route. Do not, go that route brother.

Twon

You totally sound like my little brother when he told me how he built his computer. I didn't understand him, either, but I'm in awe of everyone on here!

Amanda Eddings

I would LOVE to watch Stevie build his own computer! And we could take a shot every time he says "FUCK!" Well...maybe not. I don't wanna die of alcohol poisoning...

Amanda Eddings

That's way i said safe option not best... If u not a tech guy , have a good support is most recomended to "buy"

Peu Oliver Guimarães

What a perfect opportunity for a video series. I think viewers would be interested in watching you build your own.

Robert Baker

A good build for you with a powerful video card and ryzen processor would be around $2k. I built a quick list of components on Newegg and for a 6700xt video card, ryzen 3700x cpu,32gb ram, 1tb m.2 solid state drive). If you also need a large storage device for all your content, I would recommend a NES server. So if you needed that as well you would be close to 3k. You can look around at pre-built systems and post which one you like. I'm sure we'll all give you good feedback. Like others mentioned cyberpowerpc.com has pre-built systems with similar components for great prices. Their mother's day special II is a good deal for $1800 and you could still add a NES server for storage and be well under $3k in total. If you reach out to Linus Tech Tips on YouTube you might be able to do a video with Linus on building your new PC. He has a huge following and has helped fellow YouTubers build PC's for their content generation.

Ive been building gaming PC's for at least 10 years. Honestly, it almost always more cost effective to use a big name custom PC builder because they can get better dicounts than me building one for someone else. Right now some of the best builders are Origin PC (IMO #1), CyberpowerPC, and Digital Storm. Hope this helps.

Jamison Hickman

Thats the worst advice you could ever give. Apple is trash and heavily overpriced. Also they scam people when it comes to repairs.

15 years experience in IT, happy to answer any questions. I love a challenge! Based in the UK though, so not sure about US prices

Plain_23

They're always way overpriced although dell support is great

Plain_23

🤣

Plain_23

I've heard good things about NZXT

Plain_23

Since u not a tech guy, and will use for personal + work + videos i highly recomend a Alien Ware as the safe option

Peu Oliver Guimarães

I built a bad ass gaming pc but good luck on finding a decent graphics card for a fair price smh

Michael manchester

You can get a solid pre-built from several build brands (like NZXT BLD or Origin PC) with strong, major brand hardware and updated components. The key is to actually customize the hardware when you buy the pre-built, otherwise they use cheaper, off-brand versions of the components which are significantly less reliable. Happy to provide more insight on the process if you decide you're interested.

Marraxus

I'm an expert mate, 20 years in the game. More than happy to jump on a discord chat and guide you through the entire process. I'm based in NZ so don't have access to US based pricing but can 100% steer you in the right direction. DM me

Alien ware

Jabba WalkiiE

nd got it in 2 days

Johnathan Rivera

i paid 1600$ for a pc on ibuypower.com

Johnathan Rivera

You need to give us some specs on what you want....my son has cool gaming computer that is glass on the side with lights...kind of like what you see behind No Life Shaq....message him and see what he has

Kellie Smith

hmm nah, a windows pc is just as good if u get a ryzen processor and build around it. It beats any Mac BS anyday.

DxShadow

nzxt got some prebuilt pc's that are pretty damn good quality wise, you should always go with a Ryzen processor though, its the best for streaming/creating content.

DxShadow

HP omen 30l with a rtx 3070 graphics card goes for about 1800. Few of my buddies just bought that due to the gpu prices being inflated. Great pc for gaming/multitasking and should last you a long time.

Dalton

I agree Stevie. It really comes down to how much you are wanting to throw down. Even a rough figure would be helpful for the community to assist you. I also agree that a prebuilt PC is going to be the best value considering the chip shortages and the prices on GPUs right now are insanely expensive.

Brothamilktoast

Impressive!

Thomas

Don't buy a Mac, you could actually build a PC that can be turned into a Mac but like a $1000 cheaper than Apple offers IF you even thought about it. There's a lot of sites that actually will build them for you now. I don't have a particular site to recommend as my PC is 11 years old and I've just upgraded it over time. Which is reason #2 I'd recommend not getting a Mac. Everything Apple is outrageously over priced. Prebuilt is ok as you still have the ability to change parts as needed.

Robert Crowley

Agree with the M1. Especially as a content creator. And I’m. It even an apple fan. But good is good. Unless you plan on gaming on it too, go M1

Kenneth King

Redux build or nzxt Graphics card market is too fucked to be trying to build one

Enigma429ad

This is my last build. Ask me anything. http://imgur.com/a/a0xAEcI

Stephen Edwards

I know NZXT does sponsorships with some other channels I follow. I would try reaching out to them. They make great builds.

Taylor Oien

Hope someone can help u homie I'm lost on that topic.. too advanced for me now days but 10 years ago I could have helped lol

Knocky Ledwell

Yo check your messages

XxMiTcHyJoNxX

As a content creator you really need like a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air. Apple has an amazing reputation in this field. Most of the reactors I see use macOS alongside their iPhone and/or iPad. It’s a bigger investment at once, but now that they’re computers are running that M1 chip is amazing. You can even run a program that allows you to run Windows PCs on macOS but it doesn’t change OS. Or the Mac mini is a really good computer modem that you chose your own screen and mouse and keyboard. But I’d go MacBook Pro, they’re trackpad is amazing!!

M1 processors all day man, fuck a pc. Get an iMac or a MacBook Pro 2021 with an M1 processor and you’re set for the next few years. Super easy.

Michael Dumaine

I’d love to help hook you up but as much as I know about PCs I’m sure someone here knows WAY more lol but I’m happy to provide insight if needed!

Kyle Ferriter

NZXT is probably gonna give you the best quality if you don’t care about price

Ace Adame

Go to a Microcenter and tell them your budget, purpose for getting, and they will get you everything and build it. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy prebuilt

MrTaxSeason

Getting a PC rn isn’t the best time because of COVID. And I wouldn’t really recommend a prebuilt pc because they tend to not be made very well... also you should probably let us know how much you’re trying to spend

Ace Adame

Rn graphics card prices are inflated afff 3x the normal price a good pre built would b from nzxt prolly

Elijah Reyes

ls1_reaper

How much you looking to spend?

Joe

I’m fond of Lenova but as far as custom builds go , nodda clue bruh
