2024-06-18 18:04:34 +0000 UTCSorry in advance for leaving such a long comment, but this is my FAVORITE manga ever, and I've been REALLY enjoying the anime adaptation, so I'm excited to see you react to it! This upload is already a week old, so I'm sure you've been told this or that by folks already, but you did ask for feedback so here's mine! First off, this was a fun first ep reaction! I'm glad you're already having fun with the show and enjoying its premise. Without saying much, it definitely has a plot I think you'll really enjoy, you've always seemed like the type of person to appreciate a good mystery and intrigue with the slow unraveling of story elements, especially when things happen in more unexpected ways. All of the characters also have a lot of depth to them and I think you'll really enjoy learning more about them over time. Secondly, I'd HIGHLY recommend sticking with the dub. You might get a lot of comments saying you should do the subtitled version, but I watched the show in both english and japanese while the first season was airing; both are good, but I think they did a great job localizing it for english, and it'll probably be easier to understand some of the concepts if you're hearing it explained vs having to read some of the subtitled translations. Also, you do have a habit of looking towards your live chat fairly often while not pausing or rewinding, so I think you'd notice and retain more information if you could hear dialogue spoken aloud instead of having to keep your eyes on the screen to read it. Dungeon Meshi is a piece of media that drops a TON of seemingly innocuous information that becomes relevant later on, so it's kind of important to hear and process it. Also, I do genuinely think they did a VERY good job with the english cast, and they all did an amazing job in their roles and only get better over time. That's all for now. I'm super happy at the prospect if you watching the rest of this! Hopefully it gets good support on YT - I expect it will, it's a pretty popular series right now! The season just wrapped up, so I'm sure folks will be eager to watch reactions while we're all waiting for more news on S2, lol.
