2021-05-26 09:33:14 +0000 UTCI was at work so missed the beginning then missed the end cuz I went to the barber after work.... only caught like 15 minutes in there really but I’m half black, half white, not offended by the word even when used with the offensive ER ending, and admittedly occasionally I use the word myself with the A ending (I even got singled out for saying it when I was with a crowd of all black friends who were all saying it too by a random black stranger telling me I shouldn’t use the word before he realized I looked mixed halfway through his rant)..... so for me I was just interested in the conversation and will have to check back to watch from the beginning in the next couple days.... I should probably add that whether it’s my white half or my black half that’s being insulted I don’t get offended either way because I’m not one or the other I’m both 🤷🏽♂️ both sides have benefits so I try to take advantage of them both whenever the opportunity presents itself

Ive went through my childhood hearing that word and seeing the negative connotation that comes with it and i never said it. My entire thought process changed when i was in the marine corps. I was a white dude hanging out with all minorities. We played football, basketball, hungout everyday, and suffered everyday together. My black buddies said "whit aint no way you were born white". Thats all from how i performed in sports and interacted with them on a daily basis. i never once said the N word. I hate the word and will never say it. Not even when rapping along with a song. My homies told me to say it time and time again, I said no every time. But other white dudes that hung with us said it and they were cool with it. But for me, it just doesnt sit well with me.

And even over here we don’t even use our slave term names to each other because of the history behind it from our slave days. But I can see why the black Americans use it to each other because it was a simple coping mechanism more specific the slave generation used to try and flip that word for themselves and it’s tricked down generations to use. To me this dude is not actually racist and is a smart guy but he simply just doesn’t really care about the real meaning for it and thinks it’s used only because of circumstances you have experienced

White people shouldn’t say it, but I feel like ESPECIALLY a white rapper in hip hop definitely under no circumstance should ever say it. Period. For what it’s worth, I’m a white dude who grew up during the 90s hip hop era, and to me as someone who loves hip hop, hell it’s part of my identity, in my opinion, it’s a fucking slap in the face to the entire culture. Yes there are more white fans today buying the music and shit, but it’s still a predominantly black culture. The level of ignorance and disrespect this dude displays thinking it’s ok to say is truly astonishing to me.

But surprisingly when I said fuck it time this out I went offf and ended it with the c bomb and hoped that they catch crabs no timeout strange that the only hateful thing I said is the only thing that they didn’t block. But my stance was and still is that yes sometimes we whites know some people who are ok with the soft a I still don’t recommend it because if Shady doesn’t say it neither should we HOWEVER sometimes I can’t help it if listening and rapping along with a song I love. Shit happens but you’re never going to hear me drop the hard ER on and don’t even allow my momma to say it around me. I have nothing but love for the black community and for the vast majority of the time that’s all I received from them I love y’all and we need to work towards a more united community and get over this petty racist shit. And maybe one day everyone will be able to say it because let’s be honest now in a vacuum without any history and bad blood that word has it’s structural sound that is pleasing to say much like the word fuck and like fuck can be so many variations if it’s meaning depending on how it’s said however we don’t live in a vacuum and out of simple respect we should not say it.
