2021-05-26 13:39:12 +0000 UTCi remember when this album came out.. the hype was crazy.. everyone excited..constantly bumping it..as i got older..i look back and think.. how weak it was compared to eminems standards..some ok songs on it like...on the bridging the cap..its crazy.. i got into rap because of eminem.. my dad didnt say sht..and as i got into more rap..i became a fan of bone thugs..ice cube.. my dad was like.. why you listenin to that crap.. but he still bought me the albums for christmas as a kid.. i was 12 when i heard stan on the radio.. in liverpool england.. im 33 now.. and ive listend to so much rap.. and still do..

Not to mention the shift between Dre's voice and Em's voice mixed in with 50's provides enough of a shift audio-wise to keep you singing along with a couple of lines here and there. It isn't the "best" from any of the 3 involved. But it IS enjoyable simply based on how it sounds and how it vibes in general.

I never knew how to break down a rap song - I just always let it go over my head bc I never understood the references. I am a country girl. Your breakdown of this song, talking about the bridging of gaps...I had to pause bc it felt like I had a damn epiphany or something. Like...THIS is why I've been following you for so long! You are the only one that I have found who can explain things in a way that I understand and who doesn't assume that I know what someone means when they say something. You break down the simple stuff for people like me...and now, around, what, two years later - I'm starting to pick up on stuff and learn references! It is so empowering and has helped boost my confidence bc I work with a lot of whippersnappers. I'm becoming a force to be reckoned with when they start to run their mouths at (not to) me about hip hop. Thank you for taking the time for people like me. Thank you, hip hop heads, for being patient and helping people like me. Bc I have asked questions and have never once been belittled.
