But if you can get past that then you’ll realise that the writing is top level material. I don't believe either that he would do such a gross song about child abuse without actual reason behind it - could be some type of therapy after overdose. To people who says Fack is similar, Fack is gross song but he didn't rapped about that heavy subject as child abuse. He was high and wanted to troll people and overall song wasn't that dark as this one is. I just don't think he would cross that line without the reason. Anyway we won't be 100% sure till Em do another song about it or just talk about it in the interview.

I think another example is the homophobic comments in his 20s. Often a boy who is sexually abused by an adult male struggle in their 20s and feel the need to prove to the world that they're straight. Homophobic comments and excessive heterosexual sex are how men usually try to compensate for childhood sexual assaults

Definitely elements that really hint to parts being written from experience. Kinda makes me sad when I realise a lot of people take his expression in this song as so much of a joke. It's understandable though, many people don't know how take this issues when they're spoken about so confrontingly. Props to you for working in a field to assist those victims.

2021-08-07 13:44:55 +0000 UTCYeah I always wondered if some of parts of the Insane were true tho like with 'Brain Damage' We all know Em was in coma because of the bully however when Em writes as Slim Shady he likes to make comical/outlandish spins on very traumatic experiences, so he added lines about how principal helps bully to beat up Em or Em pick up parts of his brain from the floor etc. I've just wondered if this maybe the same case, Em experienced some type of sexual abuse however Slim Shady writes about it with the same spin.

IMO based on experience working with abused children and their families, Eminem definitely was exposed to a form/incident of childhood sexual abuse, in addition to all the other forms of childhood abuse this man was exposed to and endured😥 In treatment he'd need to process all forms of abuse and childhood dysfunction in order to reach the best outcome. His parents and grandparents also have abusive backgrounds so the things Eminem would be required to process are complicated and include generational abuse. We all know Eminem processes, communicates, and likely thinks, through writing. In My Mom he writes about his Munchausen By Proxy and in Insane he is writing about childhood sexual abuse. The story being told is outlandish and sounds insane but interesting enough that's similar to how the child feels at the time of the abuse. 'I feel like I'm melting' sounds just like a disassociated episode one has during an extremely traumatic incident. I'm not saying everything that happened in the song happened to him but I'm convinced he experienced a form of sexual abuse. His Mom was known for many men coming through the door and a pedophile doesn't care whether you're a boy or a girl👀! A pedophile looks for a woman just like Debbie!🧐 The point of the song: 👉 Hey I know what it's like to experience childhood sexual violence👈 This is one of the reasons so many people relate to his lyrics. He's been through it all and different people relate to different things. I'll conclude that my opinion is formed on years of studying his life and lyrics and ended up turning him into a Case Study for working with at-risk youth when discussing "What is Adversity and how do we improve our Resiliency?"
