2025-03-07 21:14:42 +0000 UTCTextbook colonization of 13 (or 12, now) different "districts" by 1 imperialistic nation! Of course those other districts tried to rise up and fight for their LIBERATION! And the way they describe the CHILDREN as young men and women is textbook DEHUMANIZATION! kind of reminds me of a real life scenario... Gale is not and has NEVER BEEN Katniss' boyfriend! And in the books (where we get more insight into her mind) there was never a time where she had any romantic feelings for Gale, at least not before he started guilting and manipulating her in book 2... District 12 is the poorest district but Katniss' family was one of the poorest in the district. Katniss was out there starving and Peeta burned the bread on purpose (which is why his mother hit him) so he could go "feed the pigs" and give some of the bread to Katniss. I truly believe that Peeta's "solo strategy" with Haymitch in this book/movie was to do everything he could to help Katniss win.
