All the stuff Ron and Hermione said about hearing voices being bad, along with most everyone convinced he was evil, he was afraid. Especially afraid to lose Dumbledores support when Dumbledore was one of the few people who didn’t think Harry was involved

2025-04-17 06:19:47 +0000 UTCOh, I’m just finishing the movie now, but in the books,the school has their own huge staff of house elves employed at the school. From the cooking, cleaning, laundry, and general upkeep of the school, it’s all up to them. They are the only ones allowed to pop magically in and around the building (that’s why Dobby is allowed to move around the castle with ease but even adult wizards aren’t allowed to apparate (teleporting essentially) as they please. They do everything on the low, so they’re barely noticeable. They are treated better than most house elves, but they’re still slaves at the end of the day. The books go more into it, with even a major plot point including them, but yeah. Also,would just like to mention that the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw dorms are in the two largest towers, the Slytherin dorms are next to the dungeons, and the Hufflepuff dorm is hidden near the food storage.

Just some info before you start the third one, Richard Harris (the actor who played Dumbledore) passed away after filming the 2nd movie, so Michael Gambon takes over the role of Dumbledore for the rest of the series. Also the director of each movie changes a few times (Chris Columbus did the first 2 films, but there are 3 other directors for films 3-8) so Hogwarts will look different for the rest of the series. In the first 2, Hogwarts captures a lot of the whimsey of the magical world. In the later movies, it gets more serious as the stakes get higher for Harry. Great stuff!
