How do yall feel about it and for all the Patreons that are in agreement that Lupe is better can yall send me the evidence so we can put this to the test. I'm very interested I just dont know enough about Lupe's catalogue and I havent heard anything that has made me think twice about it. This should be fun though, lets get it

But Em just covers sooo much more on the spectrum of a rapper. He can give you lyrical, they both can. But Em got the flows, the rapid fire, give you aggression, the multi syllable schemes, the internal rhymes, the end rhymes. He can talk his shit, he can talk politics, he can talk relationships, he can talk drugs, he can give you shock value, etc. yea and a lot of that is to do with Ems life experiences definitely. They are two diff people. Two diff lives. Ems been through it all and can rap it any which way possible. Like i said, lyrically sure theyre close. But Em has so many different skills and can compile them any which way. 👍🏼

Again, I’d love a collab with them both.

Saying that Em has 150 songs about drugs and toxic relationships is a vast overstatement. Stevie saying that Em washed Royce on every BME song is just not something I agree with. Different people have different expectations when it comes to music, especially hip-hop. Yes, Em was barring but Royce sounded a lot better on BME to me (cadence, flow, tone of voice). To be fair I'm a bit biased because Eminem's SOUND (not quality) was at my least favorite in the Relapse-Recovery-BME era.

He makes it metaphors intentionally complex and layed. Almost to a fault. 95% of listeners have no clue what hes trying to say. Having said that EM is definitely more entertaining, with cadence, punchlines, energy etc. Its a shitty comparison. They intentionally make different types of music. Lu has said alot of artists make better music, EM kendrick etc. But he has said no one can match him conceptually and he is right. I think alot of Lupe fans have love and respect for EM and what he does, but most EM fans wont take the time necessary to try and break down LUs pen. Its a full time job. As an overrall rapper I'd have Eminem over Lupe. Lupe doesn't have that many flows, can't switch his cadence as flawlessly and just doesn't give as much emotion in his voice I feel. Now if we only judge their pen ? Like Lupe might the best of all time. His concept songs, metaphors and intricate schemes are just way more versatile than Em. Like if you think about it Em' has 150 toxic relationships songs, all his doubles/triples are about the game/drugs/women, and he has many bars about drugs/smoking-weed/mechanics etc. There's a reason people say he fell off. During his SSLP era he was one of the most creative rapper painting every time a new and super vivid imagery which to me is way more interesting than triples. Kendrick might be the best at riding both lanes of what Em and Lupe do lyrically but I digress. This thread just got me annoyed because of how much dick riding Em is getting when I know most people in this thread have not taken the time to listen to Lupes music(including Stevie) so why even have the conversation if its obviously going to be one sided and everyone is asking for “evidence” like Lupe has not had albums out forever for everyone in here to dive into if they truly wanted to. He has covered every single topic of hip hop almost , gangsta rap, social rap, political rap, conscious rap, raps about his life , motivational and inspiring raps. Being able to rap about content and still have bars and lyricism. He has mastered the art of rap. Lupe and Eminem are two different lyricists. Lupe’s bars are complex but You can list to an Eminem song a 100 times and still catch something new every single time. The fact he had to work even harder than lupe to get where he is tells me what I need to know. His body of work speaks for itself. Has songs you can laugh too and cry too as well. Pretty much you know what you’re getting with Lupe but Eminem is still so unpredictable

I don’t really know what people define as ’lyrical’. EM can twist and bend words lile No one else can. He can set up a sequence of rhymes to make two words rhyme that don’t really rhyme. EM is the way better rapper but who the better is lyricist is more difficult since people value different things When it comes to lyrics.

Depending on the listener u could have limitless meanings to that song. I think Lupe has a verrrrry passionate fan base that are stuck in 2007 when he was skateboarding around. I’m in the minority here, but Royce proved that he was the better MC during their beef. Lupe hasn’t shown he can do what Royce did and Em is a caliber above that.
