GIMME A SONG THAT GOT U THROUGH A TOUGH TIME

Wanna see how powerful this music shit is through y’all’s eyes

Damn this is interesting, let’s dive thru some of this!

Comments

Avenged Sevenfold - So far away. I had a cousin die of a heroin overdose and the song to me, speaks to his pain and mine.

If a song (or anything for that matter) has got you through a bad time in your life, please don’t even consider what anybody else thinks about it. If it kept your head above water, for even a second, it’s incredibly important and valid. Also try to keep in mind that, yes, this song may have aided you but it’s you that has kept treading water. For what it’s worth, I’ve never found this community that Stevie has brought together to be people who would ever dream of laughing at or belittling you.

ClaireyElizabeth

While this song hasn’t got me through tough times, it definitely is my favourite song of all time.

Daniel Hallam

All eyes on me by Bo Burnham. For me it perfectly incapsulates what my panic attacks feel like. It helps me knowing someone else knows the feeling so well. Amazingly talented dude

Hunter Quirie

My first wife passes away from cancer at the young age of 31, the last concert I took her to was Mana and her favorite song and the song that helped me was Mariposa Traisionera. It's a beautiful song not really in your arena but it would mean the world to me if you did a reaction to it.

Hector Dominguez

A friend asked me to listen to a Pink song called “The Great Escape” and it made me start to talk about how things were going then but also made me a big fan of hers.

I don't know about getting me through tough times but I'll name a song that's very significant for me. Haily Mary - Tupac 1st Hip Hop song I've ever heard when I was a kid. It hits different every time. I've never really used any songs to help me get through tough times. I've always relied in my confidence and skills. Of course, there are songs that inspire me.

Brad

My bad bro I shoulda specified lol. Yeah man. It’s like he copied and pasted what happened to me in a song man. Makes me laugh when people claim he “has no content”…”unrelatable” etc. It’s all relative at the end of the day 🤷‍♂️

Colin Harris

Changes as in 'going through changes'?

Plain_23

“Changes” or “talking to myself”. That shit could literally have been about me. The most honest artist in the history of music. (Which is why the man has the most loyal fan base - period).

Colin Harris

Hey mate really liking your reactions, your breakdowns are probably the best I've seen, not biased no bullshit and an actual understanding of what most artists are trying to portray in there music, I'm just your typical aussie guy, Would be fucking awesome if you could do a couple more chllint songs. As far as lyrical rappers in oz u most likely won't find one better.. suggestions (overdrive2) (stand for)

Weak becomes heroes is a classic too. Still listen to this album a lot to this day. Blinded by the lights is my personal favourite from a grand don’t come for free. But stay positive has helped a lot. Just wrote by someone who’s clearly been through and is not bullshitting you. Mike skinner is a legend.

Oasis - live forever, it was actually written in contrast to all the popular Grunge songs at the time which were all had a depressing message, just a really good uplifting optimistic song. Originally sung by Liam but Noel who wrote it has just done a great re-working version of it on the radio. https://youtu.be/_kB3uZDB1Ow

2PAC Dear Momma. Even though my moms wasn't a "crack fiend' the struggles she went through with abusive relationships, raising 3 boys, and trying to find work in an environment that was predominantly Hispanic all hit me hard when Dear Momma dropped. "For a woman it ain't easy to raise a man". My mom raised 3 on her own.

I’m going to be honest and tell a whole story on what got me through the toughest time of my life. 2 years ago my two little brothers (5 and 3 years old) ended up in a double drowning in a river. I fell into a mad depression since my mother ended up in jail and my other younger brother (16 years old) fell into smoking crack. I tried suicide multiple times and luckily my missus prevented me from succeeding. While I was in serious depression, I stumbled across Stevies reaction channels. He started to break bars down and showed depth to songs. I use to listen to music for how it sounded., not what it meant. So after Stevie opened my eyes to music I dived into songs all day reaching back to the 60’s up until today’s songs and I can gladly say Stevie helped with me finding not 1 song, but a whole lot of them I can relate to and free my mind up out of depression thank you Stevie, now I have a beautiful 5 week old daughter that has a dad in her life and I couldn’t do it today without music as a whole

Beautiful pain- Eminem. When I was going through a breakup after 5 years. It’s a slower song, not a bop, but the message, at least for me, was everything I needed. I’ll just say it was in repeat for a while lol. Also Eminem “stronger than I was” is similarly good.
