2021-09-24 23:12:41 +0000 UTCJust a quick explanation of how this came about MTV was doing a show to mash up the biggest bands and greatest rappers They went to Jay-Z and asked who he'd like to work with and he said Linkin park so they called them up Linkin park was on tour at the time and Mike Shinoda Co vocalist and Rapper of Linkin park got on his laptop on the back of the tour bus and made a few demos and sent them to Jay to see what he thought Jay called them and they agreed that instead of a mash up they'll rerecord everything and make an EP which became "Collision Course." While they were talking on the phone planning it all out they said they wanted to "make an EP together and make it so good that MTV couldn’t possibly do a complete series because we had done it as it would set the bar too high,” and that's exactly what happened there was never another US MTV Mash Up like it.

2021-09-24 19:47:50 +0000 UTCI absolutely hated that colab when it came out : I was a huge Linkin Park fan, I didn't like rap (plus I didn't speak or understand English that well so ...), and I felt like Jay ruined Numb. Listenning to it now that I have grown to love US rap (and now that I understand and speak English) and absolutely love this version, I realise how much music tastes can change, I did a total 180, and that mainly thanks to bar breakdown channels XD !
