TECH N9NE ALBUM REVIEW REMINDER

Comments

Nah this album aint the best, its got like 4 good tracks total. The rest are fine but too many features.. im here for tech not everyone else. That and the beats are some of the worst in his career. This compared to specific effects or even the storm its not even comparable. It might possibly be his worst album other than Domination

Thepuppetmasta

Absolute power is Techs best album ever. Even he would say that! Everready was after the wreck and “BLEST”, the collabos albums are his version of mixtapes w local artists. I agree w Erik you’re sleeping on KOD album. If you really want to know what he’s talking about in most albums he talks about it in his documentaries T9x and the Psychromentury both on YouTube for free. Worth the watch Stevie, either way here for that Tech shit keep it coming!

Jake D

Same.i was low on it and after sitting on it came to an 8.5 myself it's one of those albums you gotta sit with for awhile.

Brandon Coleman

Past.member of his first group was and he just got out of prison for it...it was a message to him saying don't come around us or your a dead man

Brandon Coleman

Nah the original members of his group when he first started called nutthowze 6688846993! One of the members was a pedophile and went to prison and just got out and the people on the song were past members of nutthowze I'm pretty sure and the song is a message to that member that got out of prison like your sick don't be coming around us or your dead well kill you.

Brandon Coleman

Bruh a 5? Holy shit. I never realized he wasn't that much into tech...also I don't put much stock in a first listen review. I heard the album and thought it was garbage first listen but after a couple months now playing it alot in my car when I work and everything I think it's right there with some of the best work he's ever done. So many songs connect with where I'm at in life especially now. Trying to move past all the bs to a more positive vibe in life be a light in the world and be happy just being myself. I can't help but feel like you gotta listen to the album consistently before really judging it. For me after sitten on it it's a solid 8.5 for me. Some of his most mature work with legit messages in songs that will make make your life better if you get it.

Brandon Coleman

lil Wayne had to get tech back for his verse on the interlude w/ 3stacks 💥🔥

Nick moss

Number 8 maggot is Corey Taylor

Jabba WalkiiE

In “the herder” track in his last verse when he lists goats he worked with the he states “but the number 8 maggot truly was insane”. Hes referring to Em right there. And he mentions speedom earlier in the song. Wish you caught those lol. Dope mentions of Em

Matt

So Stevie the song about pedophilia is talking about his old rap group NUTTHOUSE and one of the members was a pedophile and their verse were talking about killing him for the shit he did..

Tony Portillo

After listening to this album over the past week, I gotta update my ranking to a solid 8.5. A couple of the songs I was ehhh on kinda grew on me. Especially when you dive into the lyrics and where he's coming from. But I can see how people aren't high on it. There's a pretty big mix of styles on the album and a lot of Tech's bar's aren't very obvious compared to his feature artist.

Stephen Smith

I'm wondering if it was a response to his feature on Gee-Mo-Skee fuck it all up. he had a bar about getting mixed up with the other Tech 9, that was later accused of being a pedo and some critics kinda ran with it in a negative way.

Stephen Smith

Exactly. I appreciated this album a lot because it’s his best project in years but no real replay value on a lot of his newer stuff. Still blast absolute power and everready in the car to this day 🔥

Ikappii

Dude I feel like we can all appreciate him consistently putting out new music for fans and doing shit with big artists and the rock. But if you ask anyone who’s been listening to tech for more than a couple years they’ll tell you his best shit is his older stuff. Everready, Absolute power, Killer, All 6’s & 7’s, Anghellic. Best albums by far. Would love to see you dive further into his older music. It’s almost night and day compared to his music as of late. As always, love and appreciate the content bro 👌

Ikappii

X-Raided used to run with brotha lynch back in the day

Saxon Crean

Everready, KOD, Anghellic, Absolute Power, Special Effects, All 6's and 7's, Killer.. All these albums are better than this. But Asin9ne is his best album since Special Effects.

Selçuk Korkusuz

Tech must have had some experience to make him write that threat’ll kill ya song. Someone he knows, someone in his family, something made him feel very strong. And it is one of the worst things a human can do

Jon

The best 5 or 6 songs were amazing, the middle pack were good, and then 3 or 4 weren’t for me

Jon

I’m late to the party, couldn’t watch live. I’d give it an 8. No album has no track I skip, but this one only had 3 or 4 I’d skip. Threat’ll kill ya was about what he’d do if he caught up to a pedophiliac. All that shit about stick nails in their dick and all that violent stuff throughout the song was directed at the subject, which is revealed at the end: pedos

Jon

Another album to review would either be anghellic, kod, absolute power, or special effects just a thought though

Holly Heller

I agree that the songs on here towards the end were not to the standard of the songs at the beginning, but he sprinkled a few of the singles in around around end to keep it interesting. The one song that I think we can all agree wasn't good was the what rhymes with threat'll kill ya. Once stevie heard that it was game over, the last sentence in that song is something that needs to be questioned in an interview with tech honestly. I'd give this album like a 6, there were some bangers, a lot of middle of the road, and a couple songs I don't care about listening again to and I've been a technician since 2004, know his whole discography. This has a gates mix plate and kod mix to it from beginning to end and thats not a great mixture.

Holly Heller

K.O.D. is my favorite tech album as well. Relapse and K.O.D. are my 2009 jams

Erik L

You need to give Clydesdale at least half a like. Come on, man.

Amanda Eddings

It was a better album than Donda, but seriously how many albums have 6 bangers any more SK. I personally count 7. All these new artist release singles not albums. Is every em song a banger...no but they are all good songs...techs Album had 3 I didn't like, 7 I thought were bangers and the rest were middle of the road. Take all that into consideration, it's a great album... Deserves a 7... Please argue back why it's only a 5 to you.

Hector Dominguez

That was fire stevie!! Album was hitting hard for the first half. Couple songs were a bit wonky. Over all still a great album from tech.

Barry Hansen

You know, I think tech is just so damn humble that he sometimes purposely tries to not go to crazy so that the other smaller artists on the song can get the shine they deserve and techs verse doesn’t outshine them. Although with Wayne he probably should have went crazier because Wayne already solidified lmao.

David

You need to watch Knoxs breakdown of techs verse with Wayne foreal bro

Nick
