Idk the kind of money you make at this, but as it’s your livelihood I’d definitely speak with a local web development firm. I know how to do most of it, so feel free to message me if you’re wanting to bounce ideas or get a little more info — if you’re looking for help setting up a new service that will house your videos and provide the subscriber infrastructure and the network to deliver your content, any web development stuff seems rather easy. If you’re wanting to build your own platform so you’re not beholden to any company, it gets much more challenging, but might still be financially viable (especially if you have another reactor or two that wishes to invest in that with you). I imagine you’ve talked with other reactors about their experience with this, but perhaps you’re in a unique spot as you’re doing more political commentary with Knight Talks…but…I’ve seen others similarly branch out. On one hand, as others have said, Patreon is a private co and can do generally what it wants; however, I would still discuss with a lawyer and understand the legal side of this — I’d think there’s still some criteria they’d have to meet before they can completely drop you and it would be good to know what that is and what recourse you have. I write all this because ultimately I hate this for you. I love your reactions and appreciate your grind and personality and honesty. I probably don’t align with all of your Knight Talks, but our country needs to retain the ability to honestly and openly discuss these issues, especially when we differ. It’s the honestly part that has become such an issue these days…

You can combine everything with your shop site too. You use platforms such as Youtube to generate the traffic and audience. But the problem with you guys (influencers, youtubers, all of you) is that you guys leave all your eggs in the social media basket. You guys are never working on building your very OWN DIGITAL REAL ESTATE. Yo Stevie, you should be funneling all your social media shit to your very own website. All these platforms want us to stay in their platform so that we can create content for them and build their brand. What ends up happening is that these influencers never ever build their own brand cuz they're too busy building these social media platforms. Patreon and subscribe star are just tools and offer NO VALUE in building your brand. These are just tools which you can easily implement a similar system to your own website. You just switched to subscribe star. I mean look what's happening you're sending YOUR TRAFFIC, YOUR AUDIENCE to their shit which is building their platform not yours bro. Again, it's building their platform not yours. Patreon and subscribe star is UNNECESSARY. Why do you think Youtube launched their very own same system called memberships. Hit me up Stevie! TikTok has the right to remove anything from "their" platform. Patreon, PayPal, Venmo, and Subscribestar have the right to remove anything from "their" platform. When you come to "my" house, you follow my rules or get out. Period. Don't rely on others to get your message across. We live in a capitalist economy. That is all these platforms care about. If you threaten that, they will cut you out. It doesn't matter what your intentions are. Now here is the tough part. Until you create your own platform, you gotta play by somebody else's rules. And even then, you still have to work within the government. Jeziel Negron mentioned creating your own website and managing the subscriptions on your own. But who is going to host the website and who is going to process your payments? Yeah, there is crypto, but I've been trying to fund my endeavors for years. Good luck getting the general public to pay via crypto or even find your website that has the domain name revoked because it gained too much attention. That is just for a website to access your content. Who is going to store your videos? That shit is expensive. IPFS is promising, but still, someone must store this data in a matter that it can not be taken down. That just means it must be decentralized with multiple copies shared amongst many people. But now we are relying on another again. What you will ultimately need to do to have true freedom of speech is no easy feat and likely will not be fund-able no matter how hard and true your fans are. I had a platform of over 400,000 members, and even when I sent the call to arms though most tried, it wasn't enough, and I had to close down. I hate to give you bad news, but this is what it is. I wish you luck, and if you figure it out, I'd love to hear it.

Never assume that because you post a video to one of these platforms that it's good to go and you can delete your local copy. You should have a storage server at home for all your videos at the very least. Hit me up if you need any advise/information on how to build or set one of these up.

My recommendation is starting basic with sites like wix, squarespace, godaddy etc. All of these are good basic webiste builders that you can check out and see if they're what you're looking for. Now what are my recommendations for what type of site should u build? If youre looking for patreon similarities A subscription website is what you're building then, its a site, or section of a site, with restricted access. This means that people have to sign up as a member and often pay a fee in order to access it. You can make something like a website for your merch and a section of it would have your videos etc. This takes some time to build and program but it can be done. This is because subscription sites have powerful membership management software running in the background. For example: •register new subscribers or members •process monthly dues and set up recurring payment •Update subscriber profiles in one centralized database •email subscribers with invoices, reminders, monthly newsletters, event invites, or any other sort of communication. And the list goes on. They're are software that manage all the memberships which you'd need set up but after that you'd never have to work on that section ever again. You should do maintenance on it done by a freelancer but yeah. Making this type of website definitely costs $$$ and maintaining it costs even more. Theres a lot you need to take into account when talking about your "own" website. But it definitely has lots of pros and cons, I think pros outweighs the cons if you build it properly.
