Well said! From Relapse to here is an incredible feat! His lyrical ability grows after every album so to me Em never stopped 'studying' since sobriety, cuz the uptick in lyrical ability continues to today!

When he had to teach himself how to rap again, relapse had the cadences, where recovery had the bars and the connection to his life and feelings. He was getting alot of clout back, his confidence was back and Mmlp2 shows it all. A mix of what he mastered from relapse and Recovery and took it to a level that not many rappers will ever reach. Also an amazing mix of Marshal and Slim. The flows, the bars, the humor, the energy, the anger/emotions while back being his cocky self were all on display. The only issue I would accept from ppl would be production. Which I honestly don’t mind at all. This is how he was adapting during this time period. Recovery which was not dre beats and had more of a poppier sound was well received! Beautiful from Relapse was popular! So he went in that direction! Using more rock/techno poppy type samples and beats to create anthems. Then of course tons of criticism started to come, with slaughterhouse to Revival which is y kamikaze n mtbmb he did not produce and had way more traditional hip hop beats. Revivals production was bad! I enjoy alot of it still though just cause his cadence lyrics n messages are great. But I have no issue whatsoever with mmlp2 at all. Ppl can hate it cause they consider it new em?? Gtf outta here. Its not new or old Em. Its a special album. My top 3 favorites are Em show, mmlp and mmlp2. Next tier mtbmb, recovery, relapse, Kamikaze, Final tier- Revival, sslp, and Encore. Orders can change but not the tiers. Id get hate for sslp. That album was my childhood. I love it. But I think Em and I both grew outta it. He prefers more motivational type stuff now while rapping rapping. Sslp doesn’t have as much replay to me nowadays. Or i replayed it tooo much as a kid. Its mostly humor. Mmlp is just perfect. Sorry for long comment. Just giving my thoughts since I rarely do and answering what you were saying.
