21 PILOTS - CAR RADIO

21 PILOTS - CAR RADIO

Thank you for hitting up Twenty One Pilots. I think Lane Boy would be a great next song to do. It speaks a lot to who they are as musicians. You mentioned earlier not knowing if you can get behind mainstream music. Twenty One Pilots does huge numbers, but they have never been “mainstream”. Lane Boy speaks to that. Their music has way more substance than 95% of mainstream music. They don’t miss. I don’t think you will be disappointed with any track they do. Migraine, Neon Gravestones, My Blood, & The Hype would be great ones as well.

So happy to see a twenty one pilots song. They are my favorite band. This is my interpretation: The first part of the song talks about his car radio being stolen so he can't listen to music and therefore is only left with his thoughts. as he no longer has the music to "distract" him from dealing or confronting reality and his feelings. Sometimes those thoughts are hard to deal with and terrifying "quiet is violent". Then 2nd part of the song is him telling you that even though it is hard to confront those feelings and reality it is necessary. and to have faith that it gets better and that there is better "faith is to be awake, and to be awake is for us to to think, and for us to think is to be alive" For the most part their songs can have many different meanings and it's really how the listener interprets it for themselves.

I feel like it shouldn’t be that hard to figure out. Not trying to diss you or anything, but you repeated what he said yourself. “Sometimes quiet is violent.” Song is called Car Radio, he repeats it over and over “Somebody stole my car radio and now I just sit in silence”. What the song is about, is how if you’re sitting in silence all you have is your own thoughts. And for some people they have very crazy, depressing thoughts. He says in the beginning of the song “There is no distraction to mask what is real, (there’s no music to distract him from his crazy thoughts) I’m forced to deal with what I feel, I could pull the steering wheel”. Idk for sure but what I think he means by that is he could steer into oncoming traffic and just end his life right now. Either that or just drive off the road and wreck, something like that. But I’m glad you thought it was lit, it definitely was lit in the 2nd half. Honestly man I feel like you yourself don’t even read these comments. Which kinda sucks cause I wish I’d be able to know that understand what the song is about now, after reading my comment.
