Opening his eyes as he felt the car come to a stop Victor rolled his shoulders as the door swung open of its own volition. Getting out of the card Victor fastened the buttons of his suit jacket, “Thank you Nex.”
The headlights flashed before the passenger door closed and the car peeled off the curb and turned the corner. Reaching into his pocket Victor pulled out a slim piece of metal that he pressed to his mouth. With a soft whirr the metal expanded with a series of collapsible plates that ended up covering the lower half of Victor’s face hiding his full appearance.
Combined with the matte black suit perfectly tailored for his frame Victor cut an imposing figure as he turned around and faced his audience, “I believe I specified this would be a peaceful meeting.”
The small army of goons standing menacingly a few feet away from Victor said nothing, instead stepping aside letting a pencil thin man dressed in a red tuxedo walk to the front of their group, “Forgive the lack of decorum, but the boss deemed it necessary given your…reputation.”
Victor frowned but it only reached his eyes with his lips hidden from view, “Very well.”
The man nodded before snapping his fingers signaling two of the guards to step forward, “These men will search you for weapons, then you may enter and see the boss.”
“You’re beginning to insult me,” Victor responded calmly as the two men approached, regarding him wearily.
The man’s paper thin lips stretched into a smile, “It is merely a precaution I assure you.”
After he was patted down and searched Victor was finally allowed to enter The House. The normally rowdy and noisy club was now dead silent as Victor descended the stairs with a group of escorts behind and in front of him.
As they entered into the main room Victor looked around and wasn’t surprised to see it was void of the normal patronage, instead more hired guards stood at the ready.
“Please if you would follow me.”
Victor turned to stare down at the man in red before silently moving towards the stairs that led to the casino upstairs reserved for more sophisticated patrons.
Cresting the stairs Victor was directed towards a velveted cover door that swung open from the inside revealing a heavily furnished room with dark wooden accents and cushioning red velvet seats.
One of which was occupied by the person Victor had come here to meet, flanked by two heavily armed guards on either side of her.
“Nexus, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you in person.” The woman responded in a deep sultry tone as she gestured to the seat across from her, “Please take a seat.”
Victor smiled as he took the offered seat, “You as well, Ms. Roulette.”
Much to his satisfaction Victor watched as Roulette real name Veronica Sinclaire paused, “Hmm…It seems as if I have underestimated your capabilities.”
Veronica snapped her fingers and a hidden door opened as a server came out placing two whiskey glasses on the table but Victor quickly placed his hand over the glass, “Forgive me but I’ll have to politely refuse your hospitality.”
The server looked to Veronica for direction and she dipped her head and the server poured her a drink before beating a hasty retreat, “I must say, you aren’t what I was expecting. Though maybe I should have given you more credit for planning your little exhibition on friday.”
Victor leaned forward staring at Veronica and her bright green eyes before giving her a cursory once over. Wielding sensuality like a knife Veronica made no attempt to hide her assets.
She wore elbow high gloves and a matching sleeveless dark red dress, with the stomach cut out and a slit along the side exposing her flawless smooth skin and the serpentine tattoo that snaked across her body. Combined with an hourglass figure, large chest and long legs Victor had no doubt Veronica used her appearance to mess with potential clients.
“I figured that it would garner your attention,” Victor replied calmly, not bothering to hide his appreciation of Veronica’s revealing apparel.
Flashing a perfect smile Veronica leaned forward to pick up her glass, “It certainly was, but that’s not the reason why I agreed to meet with you today.”
“Oh do tell?” Victor asked, playing along with whatever trap Veronica was trying to spring on him.
Taking a sip from her glass Veronica let out a sigh that boarded on a moan of ecstasy, “The reason I met with you is because I have good reason to believe you are the one responsible for driving out the Six Hands.”
“Driving out…is a polite way of saying what I did to them,” Victor answered as he leaned back in his chair and darkened his voice.
Veronica paused mid sip and she regarded Victor wearily, “You’re not denying it?”
“Why would I?” Victor asked with a tilt of his head, “Maybe now you’ll begin to take me more seriously.”
Victor could practically see the gears spinning in Veronica’s head as she tried to come up with a new angle of attack, “You do realize I could go to the police with the information you just gave me?”
Shaking his head, Victor stared Veronica down as he let out a disappointed sigh “You’re still doing it, you’re still underestimating me. I was hoping to be business partners, but I’m beginning to wonder if this was a mistake.”
Victor stood up only to hear two guns cocking and he looked up to see the two guards at Veronica’s side level their rifles at his chest.
“Do you think you can just come and go as you please” Veronica said calmly as she sipped from her glass, “Especially after you just revealed what you’re capable of…no you’re not going anywhere any time soon.”
Victor stared calmly down at Veronica, his face not showing an inch of emotion, “Are you sure you want to do this?”
