03.01.2022 Recap (bigtxt)

(First paragraph might be a bit of a downer)

Thank you for your support this 2021 stretch, I hope my girls entertained you throughout, they certainly helped keeping me focused on constructive pursuits. It’s no secret that it’s been pretty shit for me outside of the art, a cycle of hope, worry and disappointment that keeps repeating itself and emphasizing a sense of powerlessness that is tough to accept in dealing with the severe illness of a close parent. There is however growth to be found in that I know I can’t wait for things to miraculously fall back into order, I don’t expect particularly good things for this year other than the ones I make happen myself, so instead of being apathetic I’m going to try and push forward in the areas I have some control over.

Hence I’m making a few changes to this platform, first to rationalise what I’m already doing in some areas, second to try and build a bit more of an organic relationship with those of you who are interested, and third to begin consolidating my financial discipline for potential harder times ahead.

1- Approving Nod (2 USD+) and Handshake tiers (5 USD+)

The only real difference between those rewards packages has often narrowed down to a handful of full resolution works and BW bits since my output is overwhelmingly poll pictures and P-Galleries, both of which Nod patrons have full access to. I’m just making it official at this point, both tiers will receive the same rewards : all full resolution pics, BW and Alts for all my self published work (99 %)

Everyone can vote in both polls, but the suggestion thread for the Consultation poll (the poll I post around the middle of the month) remains a Handshake tier reward and is joined by a new thing :

2- Monthly AMA thread (Handshake tier+)

I’ll be opening a monthly AMA thread where you can ask me relatively shortform stuff about my influences, tools, process, cultural tastes and other fascinating insights. I will respond to everyone of course while trying to be concise myself. I don’t expect this to be bustling but I do sometimes get questions in my Pms that I lose sight of amidst the deluge of notifications brought about by Patreon’s eternally awful interface. Now there will be a place to ask, after a month has passed I will lock the AMA and make the thread readable by all. This doesn’t mean I won’t reply to comments elsewhere of course, in this instance it’s just a dedicated space. This will take effect in February !

3-P-Gallery tiers

The changes for these tiers justify a separate post (right after this one), if you don't care about these tiers it is not a necessary read as it will not affect my output.

I'll be posting a new  infographic with the changes soon and changing the appropriate sections around here shortly.
