Being very much a fan of black and white I admire many manga artists, my first love being Yukito Kishiro who gave us Gunnm, I added Miura, Takehiko Inoue (Vagabond) and Hiroaki Samura (Blade of the immortal). In the specific genre I work in I'd say Great6(and the Neo queendom comrades), Bobobo, Motchie, Bonten, and too many others! Otherwise, I have a passion for Mignola and Hellboy, but my inspiration in a broad sense comes from Jacques Tardi and the unsung legend Sergio Toppi.

As you might have noticed from my GWW stuff, I like WW1, the peculiar atmosphere, textures, fabrics, designs of that transitionnal time period are very inspiring and not something I have come accross that much in general design. In France we are lucky to have both a comic tradition aimed at adults (on the older side) and quite a vivid iconographic sensibility to WW1, so there are a lot of works that come out but they tend to have a pretty flat, formulaic approach. Then we have authors like Jacques Tardi who have developed a whole style out of rendering the grit of the trenches , I hope I find a way to channel this into my work in a comparable way. I like history in general in any case, but none of it is as artistically evocative to me!

2023-02-06 16:13:52 +0000 UTCAs I am dramatically late on way too much lately something had to give, so I closed off the single slot BE tier and deactivated stacking towards dual combos. I am not very comfortable with 2-character pieces when both are supposed to be prominent, they are more labour intensive to make interesting and I appreciate them a little less than single char endeavours.

2023-02-06 16:05:04 +0000 UTCBE SHOCKED! I have never played tabletop Warhammer, Tabletop in general never was a big thing as I didn't have enough people around to play with for...various reasons. It didn't pop up as something relevant within the friend groups of my youth, and now without having formed the habits or connections it's hard to get into. I love Warhammer for its character and aesthetic, I would have enjoyed painting figurines if I had started earlier in life, but I gotta say I'm not that into the actual game, seems a bit laborious =>
