I have no opinion on Kingdom Hearts but the other three I do like to varying degrees! There's not that many popular things that I actively dislike, most of them populate the "casual indifference" category (Pokemon, Elder scrolls games etc) but to muster a bit of spice I will take a risk: I actively dislike Halo. Firstly I resent that it is paraded as the seminal 'old school FPS' for so many younger folk when to me it's just a floaty watered down Arena shooter and secondly I find its visual design horribly bland, hate the colors, hate the aliens, hate Master Chief's dirt bike helmet and blocky early 2000s armor. Of course that's all because I'm old and bitter =)

Right now the rule of cool is all I've really cared about, but GWW can definitely get damaged, probably not by regular arms fire and for some not even by artillery (Marianne is that kind of juggernaut). Other GWW and their special weaponry (basically supercharged versions of era-compliant guns/swords etc.) are definitely dangerous as well as the entities that reside in the fantastical no man's land they traverse.

BuruStandin

Sarlacc pits with barbed wire tendrils, Colossi with bunkers as heads, lots of ideas revolving around no man's land features and grotesquely arranged corpses. Haven't made the time to delve into that as much as I would like, I love Japanese uncanny horror (Junji Ito/Berserk etc) and there is definitely a place for that in the setting.

Nope! We generally get a few reminders that it's going on throughout October, but it's really not big within my circles =>

Dorohedoro's opening always puts a smile on my face! There's probably more buy I unfortunately have a hard time remembering these types of things.

Max Payne, Arcanum, Deus Ex, Hotline Miami are the ones that come to mind, I don't have them on repeat (I have trouble drawing with music) but I fairly consistently get an urge to dredge them up!

BuruStandin

Either it precedes an initial design direction (Trench bullies, Dorothy for example) or it is derived from it as I go (Lucienne/Elsie), Since I'm not assigning roles in a solid setting or narrative I am keeping things quite broad and flexible =)

Yes! Elsie is actually pretty dextrous, how do you think she manages to stuff that tiny pipe?

BuruStandin

There have been so many intersecting pantheons across all polytheistic religions I think it's both expected and interesting to draw from the existing pool for inspiration, of course I'd try to add a personal touch =)

At this point some things are really set in stone, long lifespans and the attitude are a core aspect of elves and a pretty reliable starter package for any fantasy setting, if you want to change that you might as well do away with the baggage and create something new!

BuruStandin

Among the classic Middle earth races you mean? I think there have been many good iterations on all of them accross all media, both playing into the classic tropes or tweaking/subverting them, I can't think of one being underrated overall!

Why do some GWWs have scars and others don’t? Can they heal or are some untouchable?

Darius

What other popular things do you not like? (ex. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Kingdom Hearts, The Beatles, etc)

What other GWW monsters do you have in mind? We have already seen zombie-like creatures
