2024-03-28 07:35:07 +0000 UTCThat is an incredibly complex subject that I am not qualified to address, interestingly this exact topic is something my father had to get involved in in some capacity in the South Pacific area. Ultimately the answer would be yes, but a very political kind of "yes", to some extent ex-colonial powers should accept that it factors into diplomatic relations but it's in nobody's interest to have a blanket "yes to all demands" policy. I'm sorry this is essay material, no answer in this format would be satisfactory =X

I would imagine most of that 33% could be Wallonie (Francophone Belgium) but even then it's generally not framed as "belonging" to France, some dream it could be incorporated and Wallon public opinion used to be somewhat open to the idea, don't think it's realistic though. The Anglo-Norman Islands perhaps? that's more out of spite towards the UK though =o Outside of that I can't think of any cultural claims, I am a bit puzzled!

2023-12-16 15:15:11 +0000 UTCLearned english in Australia, so I'm an avid "cunt" user and while my delivery is more Brit-sounding I pronounce a lot of words the aussie way, In French I also use the classic range of curses (Putain&affiliates) but outside of insults I enjoy outdated pleb speak, words like "rombière" (hag) "boutanche" (bottle) or "Braquemard" (penis) for examble, they are just delightful.

I don't work in the service indusrtry so my bad experiences are limited, I've had positive interactions with Spaniards and Brits =>

Italy has a habit of wasting quality people, resources and ideas at the execution stage and letting dumbasses make decisions for far too long =|

2023-12-16 14:13:58 +0000 UTCProbably because a lot of animation, especially the most popular instances are still directed at a younger audience, from the outside looking in it could still feel that way. It's changing though, animation just needs to cover the full spectrum and these expectations will end up dying out. It's what happened with European and specifically Franco-Belgian comics, up until the 70s they were perceived as juvenile, but now if you walk into a Bande dessinée store most shoppers are over 40 (which is a bit of a problem toomind you, Manga has obliterated the local market for the younger crowd)
