Steam Release
The goal was always to release on Steam the game that I develop on Patreon. Of course, I’m interested in developing games that have no chance of release on Steam (high school setting and parodies being the main ones), but as of right now, with my current budget, the safest bet is obviously to try and secure more sources of income so I can create games that can satisfy me in term of quality. I had also hoped that by releasing my games on Steam, it would promote my Patreon page, but unfortunately Steam is not too happy with Patreon links in my game build, so I had to remove them. Bummer.
I’m also planning on sending Steam keys to everyone (regardless of their tier) who has supported me for a total of 10$ or more (which will be the price of the game on steam) and who's still supporting me by the start of October. So, for example, if someone supported me for two months in the five-dollar tier, I would send him a Steam key coming October (as long as he’s still one of my Patrons by then, of course). I know it’s nothing much, but that’s one of the only ways with which I can show my appreciation for those supporting me.
Here’s the link to the Steam Page, by the way: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1700110/The_Edge_Of/
Charge Up Front
I didn’t really want to enable charge up front because it’s not the kind of thing that I want to enforce, but I’m really getting kinda tired of receiving tons of emails of new subscribers who end up leaving as soon as they get their hands on the new game build. Also, it plays a bit with my emotions since it always makes me believe that maybe I have new supporters. So I’ll be enabling charge up front starting next month. For most of you, it won’t change a thing. But I do know that it will affect some people who do sometimes change their tier during the month. So I just want to put it out there so that no one has an unpleasant surprise coming next month.
