Poll result (Should I commission this artist)

I won’t lie, I’m actually surprised. Since the art style is very different from the one in the game currently, I thought people would be a lot more off-put by it, but I see that I was mistaken. It’s pretty much 2 to 1 in favor of commissioning this particular artist.

But, on the other hand, I also saw a lot of concern in the comments—even from those who voted yes. Which kinda puts me in an awkward position. I also share the same concerns for the most part. The girls (especially Laura) looked too young, and with this particular illustration, there are details I’m still not fully convinced of (mainly proportion/background).

So I decided to commission him for another scene, this time one that I could actually use in the game. But it’s still not a sex scene or anything. I just want to test him by giving him something that is a bit more complex to draw. I also did mention to him that I thought the girls looked too young. Hopefully, he can fix it. But people need to understand that not all artists are versatile. Some just can’t change their art style no matter what, and that’s not a bad thing per se, but we can’t be surprised if the girls still look too young in the next illustration.

I’ll share the sketches whenever I receive them. Don’t know if I’m going to make another poll or not about it yet. It will depend a lot on how I personally am satisfied with his work. While he’s a great artist, if he can’t portray the girls/scene the way I need him to, it’s obviously not worth it.

Anyway, if it works out, great. If not, then that’s fine too. There’s no stress. I prefer to take my time and make sure that everything is perfect.
