A Promise Best Left Unkept - Aya Edition V0.6.0 - Tipsy (5$) tier [English/ 简体中文]

Hello, hello!

I won't bore you guys too much (mainly because I'm tired). V0.6.0 is a bit more than 26k words, it adds 4 CG sets, and two lewd scenes. I'm a bit happier than last month, as it does include a bit more action this time around.

There is still something I'm not fully satisfied with, so bear with me. There's one scene that I feel is not implemented very well. It's an idea that I thought was good and original on paper, but couldn't be translated into an illustration I feel was compelling enough. Still, we gotta move on. We live, we learn.

Also, as you might have noticed, from now on, the game should be translated into Simplified Chinese at the same pace as the English version. At least, I will try to keep it that way, though it is a bit more of an headache. The Chinese versions of the note will be further down the page.

Changelog V0.6.0

Story

Umm, first of all, you don't have to apologize for writing to me, even if it's going to be lengthy. In fact, you're lengthening the message by doing so, lol. As for the pacing, you are right. I've been a bit less mindful of Harry's perspective as of late. I want the updates to be a certain length, but sometimes it might affect the monthly readers negatively. I'll try to keep it in mind, though finding the right balance can be especially hard. I like reading what my fans think of the story, so you're always welcome to share your thoughts. I have a hard time writing the word 'fans' because I actually don't think my work is anything special. There's a lot I could improve, in my opinion. Unfortunately, I decided to focus on quantity over quality, it seems. Also, I know you were just kidding, but being parasocial is not good lol. Just keep in mind that I'll definitely disappoint you in some way or another. I'm as much if not more flawed than you are. But I appreciate all the kind words. See you at the next release.

*SPOILER WARNING* I know you might not read all of this because it’s quite long, so I’ll mark(->) where the key thoughts on the updated scenes are so you don’t have to go through the whole thing. I wrote this in the heat of the moment, and I’ll probably regret posting it. However, since I’ve told you that you’re my favorite creator (I’m being parasocial, sorry (。-人-。)), I feel compelled to express my thoughts and share my feelings as a fan, even if my opinion doesn’t really matter in the end. I’m already embarrassed just typing this, and I haven’t even started yet—so here we go. Before anything else, I want to apologize for the long rant I’m about to go on. And before you continue reading, Hangover-kun, don’t worry—it’s not really a rant, but rather me wanting to share something with you that isn’t necessarily an issue with the game as whole, but more of a ME issue on my end. It's complicated to explain, so please bear with me. I'll try to make it understandable (hopefully). First and foremost, I want to let you know that this isn’t really an issue—it's just a personal thing—but I still want to share it with you because I think it might give you some insight into the minds of maybe not only me, but also other fans. The issue is pacing. You might be thinking, 'This is just another pointless rant about pacing that won’t help me at all,' but please bear with me—it's not what you think. The pacing of the game has been a thing of beauty, and my opinion on that hasn’t changed one bit. So let me stop yapping and actually explain the issue at hand (which isn’t really an issue). Let’s imagine the game ends with today’s update and this is the complete version. Suppose Hangover-kun wraps it up, and the game releases on Steam tomorrow. 'Little Timmy' gets on his computer, opens Steam, sees the game, and buys it. He then plays through the entire thing in one sitting and says, 'Wow, what a great game.' And rightfully so, because the game as it stands now is absolutely amazing. What I'm trying to say is that, from the perspective of a full release, the pacing so far has been amazing. Anyone who plays the full release up to this point won't see any issues with the pacing, because in my opinion, there aren't any at least to this point. But that's not what I'm arguing about today—RAAAAAAH ♡✧。 (⋈◍>◡<◍)。✧♡. Today, I'm focusing on the pacing of the individual updates released for us supporters. This might come as a surprise to you because in the last update, I was praising the pacing and everything. So, let me clarify. I’ve mentioned before that I’m the type of player who enjoys keeping two save files—one for Harry’s perspective and one for Aya’s. I love going through Harry’s scenes and staying in the dark until I see Aya’s point of view. And this brings me to the issue I had with this specific update, which has also happened before. Remember how in the last update I mentioned that I knew this one was going to be intense because of what Harry said to Aya at the very end? Well, that part came back to bite me. Aya’s perspective in the last update didn’t include her point of view of that conversation (for obvious reasons). I want to praise you again for this because you did exactly what I hoped for by keeping that crucial moment within the context of a more impactful update focused on Aya’s perspective. This leads me to the issue I had with this update, which has occurred before as well. The problem I have is essentially this: As someone who enjoys Harry's point of view only route, I wish you had kept that part of Harry's perspective for this update as well. Why do I say this? I say it because I enjoy Harry's perspective just as much as Aya's. While Aya's perspective had the perfect buildup for the 'scenes,' especially when considering how Harry wronged Aya, Harry's perspective in this specific update fell short. It should have been one of the best yet, especially since we got the first taste of the hardcore stuff through the wall. Unfortunately, because Harry's and Aya's conversation happened in the previous update, Harry's perspective in this one felt like it lacked the buildup it could have had and felt a bit disjointed. For example, let’s consider the update from NTR by Clumsiness, where a huge update was released focusing solely on the protagonist's point of view, and the female protagonist wasn’t included in that update (because of the sheer size of the update). As someone who enjoys the protagonist’s perspective, I thought it was the greatest update you’ve ever released in that regard. I understand that including Aya's and Harry's conversation in the previous update was necessary for building up the story, and I genuinely enjoyed it at the time. However, now that we finally have the good content from Harry’s perspective, I regret not replaying Harry’s POV from the last update. I realize this is a personal issue since I could simply reread Harry’s POV before diving into the new content. But, with everyone excited for new updates, it’s unlikely anyone will take the time to do that. As I mentioned before, using NTR by Clumsiness as a reference, you expertly avoided this problem. I apologize if I sound overly critical—I’m laughing as I type this because it might seem silly to focus on a minor issue. However, I wanted to point out that for your games/novels, fans look forward to the protagonist’s POV just as much as the female protagonist’s POV. So, the pacing for the protagonist’s perspective is equally important. ->->->->->The rant is officially over. I hope you read it, even though if I were you, I probably wouldn’t—LMFAO. I really do ramble. Anyway, let’s talk about this update. Aya's point of view was exactly as I anticipated from the last update and it didn’t disappoint. You included everything perfectly: all the buildup, the switching between POVs, and all the essential elements for a great Aya POV update and a turning point in the story. It was so amazing that after finishing it, I almost brought myself to tears—LMFAO. Absolutely magnificent; I’m not sure how else to describe it. The way you didn’t drag things out, having Luka go all out with the mating press, no protection, and making it feel like they were truly lovers because it was the perfect time for things to get serious—you delivered an incredible punch. I’d kiss you if I could (just kidding). I hope you continue to deliver such excellence in future updates. Take this update as an example of how great pacing can be in a story (and I hope mentioning 'pacing' doesn’t trigger you or anything—I’m not trying to lol). When it comes to the final scene of this update, I can understand why you might have been somewhat dissatisfied with it. From Harry's point of view, it didn't come across as well as it did from Aya's perspective. However, scenes like that are challenging to handle with just CGS. In my opinion, though, I think it was quite good. I enjoyed that scene and felt that emphasizing Aya’s decline made it even better. So, don’t be too hard on yourself about it. That’s pretty much it. Again, I want to apologize if you read everything I wrote and found it out of line for me to post. I genuinely just wanted to share how I felt, even if, in the end, my opinion is irrelevant. I felt the need to rant because I was really looking forward to that part. Overall, though, I loved the update. In my opinion, this is the best female protagonist POV update you’ve released so far, even surpassing Laura’s. You included all the right elements at the right time. If I had to describe it, I’d say you’ve truly learned a lot from all your projects. I feel like a proud dad, even though I’m younger than you! Anyway, sorry again for the rambling, and keep up the great work. Until next time!
