Joonie and Yoongi love their metaphors/symbolism and Joon especially loves using the moon. FYI 2016 was the beginning of their rise and Joon had just put out his first mixtape in 2015 with Yoongi putting out his a few months after Save Me came out. Save Me was a tribute to the Boy's, like y'all pointed out because they received their first Korean Music Show win in 2015 and they/RM and Yoongi wanted to highlight exactly how much the Boys meant to each other.

And yes it's a one take video =D BTS behind the scenes shooting showed just how many takes they did before setting on a version they liked. They even danced through the rain for hours, they have so much dedication to their craft. Fun fact Save me was written as an ambigram in Fake Love MV as I'm Fine. Go back to the MV and flip your head or screen upside down to see it XD BTS then released a song called I'm Fine afterwards and the beat is literally a reversed Save Me! RM is a genius

It was filmed on a beach, imagine the difficulty dancing in sync on rough ground! And it rained all day. They had to rush out in gaps in the rain,, or practice in the rain. That's why their hair looked wet too, no hair dryers! A related song, a response, is called I'm Fine, and on stage they will do them together. A lot of songs have "Behind the Scenes" which are enlightening.

"Save me" is a plea for help and "I'm Fine" represents self-acceptance. AND these two words mirror each other, visually in an AMBIGRAM. The mirroring doesn't stop there, the lyrics and dance also demonstrate reverse/mirroring elements of Save me. This is a basic explanation but I reckon you guys would do a great job at reacting to I'm Fine

That is very intentional on BTS’s part. In a documentary BTS did for their song collaboration with Coldplay, RM tells how BTS aren’t your traditional band that plays instruments; rather they are a band who dance. Their dance becomes an element of the song, often telling mini stories within the song. This is particularly true of Save Me’s sister song I’m Fine that other ARMY have mentioned in their comments on this post. Throughout I’m Fine the BTS members fall one by one and each time the other members pick them up or perhaps I should say ‘saved’ them.

I think you guys would really enjoy watching the behind the scenes shooting of this MV!💜 Also Save me as a sister song that's it's mirror opposite called I'm Fine(There's no MV, but there is a live where the guys perform a shortened version of Save Me than immediately go into a full performance of I'm Fine. Fun fact, Save Me is the song/MV that made me want to learn more about the guys! It's still one of my favorite songs.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 FYI, when you use Color-coded lyric videos just keep in mind that the creators don't always take the time to translate the lyrics well and sometimes even mix up which member is sing/rapping which part. A few lyric video channels I recommend are BBTS9717, DIAL 6137 and aftaehyung because they have some of the better translations. I would try to avoid using the bigger channels like Jaeguchi and Lemoring because they just rush to get their videos out to get views and don't try hard to get an accurate translation(Some lyric translation channels will even put their own music at the end to try monetize the videos). There's also a website called DoolSetBangtan that I think has some of the best translations personally(But I don't think they've been active for BTS's most recent releases). And I think I mentioned it before, but Enjoy BTS More's Patreon has Live performances with english translations, some from DoolSetBnagtan's translations, but they translated lyrics themselves as well. Edit: I can't remember the name of the channel, but there was at least one that I remember adding in who sang what background vocal/harmonies.

They kinda also sounds the same but has very different flavor. I personally interpret the two songs together. so its like back in 2016 they were asking for someone to save them but in later years they realized that they can save themselves too. that they are fine even with just themselves. You have to listen to Im fine is what im saying to appreciate this song more. i dont think it has an mv but you can find many live performances for it and you can check the lyrics as well. the dance was electric for that song. Also Namjoon made a very cool verse where he answered his own verse in Save me on his verse in Im fine but he also flipped it like the titles ambigram. Its really really cool you should check that out.

It even gave me chills with how much more was given of your in depth understanding of the lyrics for Save Me! BTS have always given ARMY so much love and we give it back tenfold! They come into your life just when you them and now life has been so much better since, for me it's over 8 years now. I'm 61 and I can't remember the last time I have enjoyed music this much. The late 80s and 90s RnB and Hip Hop was my jam dancing at the clubs in Sydney and Parramatta! BTS bring those great times back. But not only that we get to see what each member brings and their life as BTS the group and the members solo projects through their BangtanTV YT channel in their Vlogs and episodes and behind the scenes of MV's making and also Weverse for their music projects, concerts, Variety shows, vacations and everything else which OMG there is an overwhelming amount documented throughout the last 12 years and more so take you time. Also guys just to let you know, (just in case u wanna go in order) BTS has a storyline going on in some of their music and MVs where they act in them and even has 2 webtoons connected to it, and a kdrama named "youth (2020)" (other actors). This all goes back to the beginning from their intro: most beautiful moment in life, I need U, Run (not RUN BTS), butterfly etc...and u can also watch an explanation video of the storyline by xceleste after you check the songs if u want. We can help u find the right order, save me and I'm fine are also a part of it. Also, j-hope’s “the best of me” theme carries throughout their songs as well. It shows up in the actual song “Best of Me” which is on the album “Love Yourself: Her” (the first album in the Love Yourself series) and is also referenced in “Magic Shop” which is on the “Love Yourself: Tear” album. I absolutely adore how BTS has a concept / question that they then explore further throughout their discography. It's an amazing fanmade docu that starts from predebut up until 2018. Even as an Army I learned new things and saw new clips while watching. It's really good! It's on Youtube and each episode has deleted and bonus scenes that shouldn't be skipped. It's ana amazing watch!

For Spring Day, I really hope you watched the explanation video and not just the color coded lyrics 🥹 Spring Day is arguably BTS’ best song of all time, The Queen Spring Day as ARMY would say. In Korea, the song stayed on the charts for about 8 years and 7 months, making it the longest charting song in Melon’s history.

2025-10-02 16:55:04 +0000 UTCThe ones that usually write, or have an input in the writing for the majority of BTS songs is the rappers, RM, Jhope, and Suga. Not all of them, but the majority. Also the rappers individually usually always write their own verses for each song. A lot of the background vocals are Jungkook, a lot of the time, but also Jimin, V, and even Jin now and again. They can also all reach high notes so be careful thinking just because it is a high note it is only one member, etc ... because that is incorrect. But also a surprise fact is quite a bit of background vocals are also jhope. Thought you guys might enjoy that truly fascinating fact.

Just as a sidenote, when they refer to someone in their lyrics directly, it's almost always for ARMY (and a lot of the time for the other members as well). The most infamous one being I Need U, which i'm sure you've seen in the comments. It started off as I Need U Friend but did not sound quite right so it was changed to I Need U Girl but is for the other boys.

It is called "I'm Fine". It will blow your mind as much as Save Me did. It has no MV but you can watch the lyrics then the live performance from Jimmy Fallon. I SWEAR IT WONT DISAPPOINT

If you do, I suggest watching the astronaut mv, then the astronaut with jin/Coldplay in Brazil with chris martins speech. Chris martin carrying jin. The astronaut was Jin's song to the ARMY and the Brazil concert was the first performance of the song live and his last performance before joining the military.

And love the enthusiasm as well. I have only dove into BTS about 1.5 years ago and some people do tease me that I have gone so far down the "rabbit hole" with them but I can see yall feel the same kind of feels that BTS inspired in me :) You should watch a live of Save Me, especially one focused on how the group teases jimin about his signature move, its just fun and light hearted :)

They are good to give sense of the song as a whole but some lines might trip you due to the literal translation. To appreciate the lyrics and its context try doolset lyrics (link for Save me translations - https://doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/2018/06/25/save-me/) A lot many times there are a lot of Korean context which gets missed in these translations including the official MVs. Hope this helps!!! And also you can find videos on YT by ARMYs which explain their songs.

A little bit off topic, but I would love for you guys to react to HOME by BTS. It doesn't have a music video, but I would love for you guys to react to the lyric video + live from Jimmy Fallon BTS week. Apart from that, I think the best things to watch from now on are listening to their albums in full, starting from their earliest album to their latest and going in chronological order with album reviews along with watching Rise of Bangtan. It would seriously give amazing insight on the boys' rise to well deserved fame and new music. Jimin has such amazing vocals in HOME so I think Ronnie would love that too lol. Thanks guys!

This song is worth the extra time spent to learn about the history and cultural significance behind it. Some people prefer to watch the explanation before the performance (the one I linked has lyrics) because the choreo matches so well with the lyrics and you’ll want to know what a Baepsae is 🙂↕️ but it’s up to yall! My rec is to know the background before but some may have a diff opinion. - this one also has a Dance Practice so you could do: Explanation Video + Performance (the one I linked also includes the lyrics on the screen) + Dance Practice Just to say: Hope you’re all having fun with your BTS journey! Nobody’s journey with BTS is linear and it’s been a joy to see you discover their music and personalities.
