Buying Time (Star Wars Padme x Black Krrsantan Story) (Excerpt - Opening Scene)

Black Krrsantan grumbled when he heard his communicator chime. The wookiee exile walked over to the cockpit of the meager vessel he’d stolen, activating the communicator. A hooded and cloaked figure materialized as a small hologram on the panel in front of him. 

“Krrsantan. I have need of your services.”

The wookiee cocked his head, looking skeptically at the enigmatic stranger. Beyond knowing that he was a male human, he otherwise did not recognize the man. “Who are you?” Krrsantan asked in Shyriiwook, his voice growling with suspicion. 

“Who I am is unimportant. Suffice to say, your brutality and savagery among your people is well-known to me. The Confederacy of Independent Systems could use that savagery, and will compensate you generously for it.”

The black-furred wookiee scowled at the stranger’s assessment of him. Still, he was desperately in need of credits, so he was interested. “Why did you come to me?”  

“I require a native to Kashyyyk; someone who knows the planet and its people, and where to hide. And though you were disgraced and cast out by your people, you will be handsomely rewarded for carrying out this task.”

Krrsantan was not keen on returning to Kashyyyk. The other wookiees would kill him on sight if they found him, after the previous crimes he had committed there. “Rewarded how?”

“Twenty thousand credits,” the stranger answered. 

Krrsantan chuffed at that, stroking his chin fur. Despite the risk involved, this sum of money was enough to intrigue him. “What must I do?” 

“There will soon be a Republic delegation arriving in the city of Kachirho to meet with the clan chief. There is one Republic senator in particular with them: Padme Amidala, the human female senator of Naboo.” 

The stranger transmitted an image of the senator. His eyes lit up when he saw the senator’s attractive face. He’d seen very few human and twi’lek females since being forced to leave his homeworld, but he had always been curious about them. More than curious, in fact. He was aroused by them. The thought of having his way with a female of a smaller humanoid species was enough to nearly coax his manhood out of his furry sheath. And this particular human female whose image he was staring at was quite beautiful. 

“You are to kidnap this senator, keep her under guard in a secure location, and then transmit your coordinates on an encrypted channel. One of my agents loyal to the Confederacy will then rendezvous with you to pick-up the prisoner and you can be on your way.” 

The hulking wookiee sat and mulled this over for several moments. As enticing as this Republic senator was to look at, kidnapping her would be a whole different matter. “How well-protected will she be?”

“There will be two Jedi and a guard detail protecting the delegation. Plus the chief’s warriors. But I will arrange an appropriate distraction. You need only snatch the senator alive and then throw off any tails. I trust you can manage this?”

He grumbled. This entire assignment seemed like bad business. He could hold his own in a brawl, but he was not keen on fighting two trained Jedi, a company of clone troopers, and a tribeful of wookiee warriors on his own. One wrong move, and he would be done for. This would have to be well-timed to have any chance of succeeding. Still, he was desperate and needed the money, badly. 

“I accept,” Krrsantan said. “But without that distraction, I am dead.” 

“I can assure you, there will be one. Just ensure you are in place and in range of the senator as soon after the delegation arrives,” the stranger said.
