WIP - Just a Little Animation Test!

As a disclaimer, this was made in December 2023, but I re-found this file so I thought it'd be fun enough to post 😗

So I messed with animation a little bit for the first time, and obviously it's nothing spectacular right now or to write home about, but the main purpose for this post was just to test the waters with animation rigs and puppet tools! This was done via After Effects, as I found it was the most accessible for me because I use Adobe Illustrator for my art and AE is directly designed to be compatible with .ai documents for puppet stuff like this. 

It's also a massive time saver because I don't have to re-draw anything here. I just take each part of the body and set it as its own layer, then After Effects does the rest by moving the parts at different points of the video, pretty basic stuff. I do wanna try animating more stuff in the future like obvs belly growing, facial expressions, etc etc. I really wanted to do a little belly jiggle cuz those are my fave~

The REAL reason why I bring this up is because I teased this sketch as far as early December 2023 and didn't post much else about it. I postponed the project to focus on commissions and do other stuff, but also Mika (who the bloated character is based on) won the second most recent Patreon Poll, and it would have felt cheap to take it and use it as the winner sketch, instead I wanted to create something fresh and, well.. a bit more fitting towards Mika's character to make it feel more like her!  

Though, for the near future I don't see myself working on it too much right now as I'm focusing on comms and other stuff, but I also hate leaving projects in the dark, so here ya go.

Now to shine some light on my long lost forgotten Tifa cumflation piece one of these days 😅
