BTS | Love Yourself - Tear | Full Album Reaction

I am late in discovering your reactions, and I tip my hat to a fellow empath. We really know how to appreciate BTS. But it's killing me you have not seen them dance, nor heard them live at this juncture, three albums in. Live performance and dance are a huge part of their identities as artists. And, insanely, they are even better live than on recordings, both in their performances and with the performance of their live band (Ghost Band.) Plus, their choreography is not only insanely good dancing, it's complex, layered and meaningful physical storytelling that matches their music and adds to the songs. And then there is their wild visual storytelling with their music videos. I can only assume you have watched them live and seen their MVs at some point, but I am dying to see it. At any rate, I'm happy to see yet another person who fell in love with our Tannies, even if you only saw half of what they are capable of.

2023-08-02 17:11:19 +0000 UTCOh nooo, this is one of the unsalvageable videos? :( I've been rewatching the BTS reactions as I read Beyond the Story after every era of each album. Well, youtube version it is

2022-08-04 02:40:32 +0000 UTCsomething about 'Anpanman', that superhero doesn't have crazy powers or anything and is often overlooked as a 'superhero', because of that. But since it's made of... well, food, it gives a part of itself to hungry children to eat. so it's kinda dark in that sense, comparing themselves to Anpanman. Because they are essentially willing to break apart and give parts of themselves to the other person. The choreography to this song also shows this when RM acts like he takes a chunk of his own face and hands it to Jimin. and Jimin eats it. <3 i hope u see this.

2022-07-18 17:38:22 +0000 UTCI saw that you got to see the live version of the Truth Untold. I love their live performance and hope you can watch the Magic Shop live… It’s one of my favorites. When I have a crappy day, I watch their live performance. Outro Tear… I’ve never been a fan of rap, but this song… I watched the MMA 2018 performance and their speech for Artist of the Year and seeing how J-Hope and Jin were (two of the happiest members normally) it was heartbreaking. And when I happen to catch the end of Hobi’s part in Outro Tear live, I actually cried. And now, I look forward to the songs done by the rap line. This is an incredible album. Thanks for the reaction.

2021-12-13 12:04:10 +0000 UTCBTS has "hidden tracks" that are only found on their physical album CD's. I believe RM said that those songs are messages to ARMY directly :)

2021-12-11 21:03:22 +0000 UTCi hate that literally the best line and the whole point of the song "because all the breath your exhale is already paradise" is literally not even in the video T_T they just put the same translation as the previous line for that part. unfortunate.

2021-12-10 01:38:27 +0000 UTCI'll fight whomever said that Mic drop remix is better. It's two different versions and I like both and only original has the dance break everybody loves. So hard disagree! Also it's SO fascinating to see a person reacting to just the music (arguably how it's supposed to be to appreciate it) without visuals and dance. You are in for a TREAT when you get to MVs and Lives, if you do. If not, music itself is perfectly enough!

2021-12-08 11:31:28 +0000 UTC2018 the year this masterpiece was dropped that year was so fucking hard for them as a group and for us as armys it was so hard that i hate to remember it but at the same time it was so good they achieved so much but the hate and prejudice towards them from the industry and kpop/western stans / the media and their fear of getting famous everything was too much for them to handle so they gathered together and cried so much and decided to keep going because it's their dream and because they loved us so much and u can listen to their Japanese song called let go it hold their feeling at that time i'm so grateful that the chose to stay because they're so talented and they changed the whole industry

2021-12-08 01:05:52 +0000 UTCthis is the ultimate bts album for me.. it has so many songs that i fall into & if i listen to only this album in one go i feel like i come out the other side as a different person every time but also as someone i used to be.. idk how they do it

2021-12-07 13:54:43 +0000 UTCAlso, the Paradiae lyric video was A MESS, but that's my favorite song. It's about how not having a dream is OK too, you just need to be happy and that's all that matters.

2021-12-07 04:35:31 +0000 UTCI can't check every comment so I assume it has already been mentioned before, but just in case it hasn't... while Outro: Tear could very easily be about a relationship, it is about BTS. Suga wrote this song for BTS at a time where they were talking about disbanding bcs of everything they had been going through and they were mentally in a very bad place. This was Suga's goodbye to the members. It's incredibly heartbreaking, bcs while the song was already sad, years later we found it was about BTS disbanding, and that's what they wanted to say to each other, and that crushes my soul. EDIT: I just saw you read the lyrics ok doolset! Omg I'm so glad you did.

2021-12-07 04:32:38 +0000 UTCSeeing your reaction to what is arguably their best album was interesting. I don't know if I can say I enjoyed it because the subject matter of this album is soooo heavy. I had to buy this album because these songs developed deeper meaning with every listen. Just listening to it again with you at this point in my life is gut-wrenching.

2021-12-07 00:31:32 +0000 UTCno gona lie I cried like 3 times watching this! These songs and lyrics are so deep and poetic and it was nice to see you get so into it, totally felt ya

2021-12-06 08:29:54 +0000 UTCJoins the party looking for your Love Yourself Answer, reaction. We know there's a great deal on your plate, but eager folks are eager, and your BTS reactions are so genuine and eloquent. I enjoy watching you experience their work as it brings the music into both familiar and new light. Peace

2021-12-01 15:37:02 +0000 UTCHello :) Thank you so much for your reactions. I love the realness and how you really want to understand what they're trying to say. I really do appreciate it :) When you end your journey with trilogy love yourself and still want to know more and understand better I recommend going in chronological order. Actually there's a channel on yt - The Rise of Bangtan. There are fan made documentary series about BTS but also about the industry and korean society which would help you a lot to understand what they're going through and what they're singing about. Even if not for the reaction but for yourself I really do recommend this channel. They're doing great job! Also since our big brain RM likes to play on words I recommend to check out DKDKTV on yt. They have series KPOP Explained by Korean for example they explained "UGH!". Once again thank you for your true reaction. Since I don't speak korean and their songs are such a bops with heavy dark lyrics I like to remind myself what they are talking about and not only remember the feeling so I was glad I could acompany you in this. Stay strong and have a great day!:) And yes they songs hit so much more live ... x__x

2021-11-25 05:33:53 +0000 UTC'Sea' was actually meant to be on RM's solo mixtape 'Mono'. Please react to it at some point, It's one of my favourite albums, it's so melancholic and the lyrics ares are like a hug.

2021-11-20 16:24:28 +0000 UTCBecause you reviewed map of the soul:7 instead of map of the soul persona, you did miss out on the song, Mikrokosmos. Pretty much a song for the fans, they used to close with this song at the concerts during the speak yourself tour. Must listen. 💜

2021-11-03 21:05:34 +0000 UTCIs it too late to say that Michael accidentally skipped the songs “Mikrokosmos” and “HOME” from Map of the Soul 7 album? I think he will enjoy the lyrics for Mikrokosmos because it is also an ARMY song including terms of “galaxies” and they compare us to stars in the galaxy, where each star/ARMY is important to make up the beautiful constellation. Maybe you can react to it in the LY:Answer reaction video? No pressure though. I would just love to see your reaction on these two songs. It’s a fan favorite because Mikrokosmos can definitely be linked to the LY:Answer storyline, while Home is such a masterpiece.

2021-10-26 03:19:34 +0000 UTC"How can a song that goes this hard be so sad?" I actually had to stop and howl with laughter. I've been complaining about BTS' penchant for making the best songs only to read the translations and be nearly in tears since I found them in 2019. Every time I sit with their lyrics, songs that make me bop or jam, often have me all the way into my emotions because they speak some serious truths. Truth Untold was the first song to make my soul just break and that was just the vocals, and then I went to read it and the originating story it's built from ....crushed. Someone has already mentioned that some of BTS' most uptempo songs contain profound or even dark lyrics. The phrase "BTS lyrics are why I have trust issues" is a punchline for a reason. About 134340: I really appreciate you bringing my attention to the production during Yoongki's verse, the 'filtered back then opening up more and more" I also heard and noted the brighter trap sound; suddenly I just heard it differently, awesome JK's adlibs are so perfect. So What is a crazy party song, Wait until you see the footage. :) Outro: Tear is... Yeah. It's the first time Hobi got me by the throat. He killed me with the last 41 seconds. The song hits differently when you have that detail. doesn't it? I love your passion for BTS. Thank you for your genuine reactions. See you next time.

2021-10-24 03:42:47 +0000 UTCI listen to Magic Shop when I’m sad too. Such a lovely song. It took a while to grow on me, but is now one of my favourites (top 5). Other people might have better suggestions for Magic Shop performances, but I found a live performance with English subtitles that I really like: https://youtu.be/B-GdJnH9qvY
Frances
2021-10-23 11:06:01 +0000 UTCI’d recommend the Wembley performance of Outro Tear. So good.
Frances
2021-10-23 11:02:26 +0000 UTCWhen you (eventually, because you gotta) listen to Magic Shop Live, I highly recommend watching one from the crowds perspective-specifically one from a concert in Seoul! Song hits a bit different when you can really hear how loud the crowd it Also I thought I should point out because I don’t think you noticed, but in Outro: Tear close to the end J Hope mentions an Answer, which is the the title for the next album! I point this out mainly because you mentioned in the previous reaction on Love Yourself: Her that in that Outro they said Tear

2021-10-23 03:58:45 +0000 UTCWhen you kept asking what 134340 was I kept screaming "google it!" lol it makes the song that more insane to know that it was about Pluto not being a planet anymore comparing to losing someone.
Ninzie
2021-10-23 02:22:50 +0000 UTCloved the reaction like always :) can't wait for more bts content. bangtan is part of bts' full name in Korean which is "Bangtan Sonyeondan" which translates to "Bulletproof Boyscouts". The name refers to the message they are trying to spread of trying to deflect the unrealistic expectations, criticims, pressures, and stereotypes that are placed on the younger generation.

2021-10-23 01:49:52 +0000 UTCI kinda knew this album is gonna tear you apart... I think it happened to all of us. Some of these lyric videos aren't always accurate when it comes to lyrics and who's singing which part, so definitely check out Doolset for all of them and either Genius or live performances for line delivery. Just a few answers to your questions: 1) Fake Love was not in a movie but the music video for it definitely looks like one, it's one of their best MVs, so I hope you'll dive into them later. Also, BTS have quite a lot of upbeat songs with deep/dark lyrics, we often joke about it in the fandom. 2) The Truth Untold is inspired by a story called 'La Città di smeraldo', if you google what it's about the song is gonna make much more sense (even though it can be interpreted without it). I'm not gonna write the whole story here cs my comment is already too long :c 3) 134340 is now the official term for Pluto after it was downgraded from a planet to a dwarf planet (thus the whole theme of the song - you erased me = just like they 'erased' Pluto from our Solar system; but I still circle around = just like Pluto still orbits the Sun...). -248° is the coldest temperature at Pluto's surface if I'm not mistaken. 3) Paradise is a very fan-fave track. BTS have always encouraged everyone to follow their dreams, but in this song they are telling us that it's also okay if you don't have any. That it's okay to take a break, live in the present instead of running and worrying about your future. Also, in the lyrics it says 42.195 km, which is the length of a marathon. 4) Magic Shop is a song written and produced by Jungkook for ARMY. I'm not sure if the translations are correct in this video you saw, but they are basically telling us that whenever we feel sad, we should open door to a 'Magic Shop' inside our hearts and they (BTS) will be there for us, waiting and providing comfort. 5) Airplane pt. 2 is called part 2 because part 1 is on J-hope's mixtape Hope World (you didn't ask, but I just wanted to point it out :D). J-hope's verse in part 2 is also the same as he has in part 1, only a little faster. 6) Anpanman to me is basically them saying "maybe I'm not as strong/powerful as the others (Superman, Batman etc) but I can still be a hero". They also refer to Anpanman in their song IDOL (on the next album). 7) 'Bangtan' is from 'Bangtan Sonyeondan' which is BTS' full name in Korean, it means 'to be resistant to bullets' or 'bulletproof' (which is why BTS in English translates to Bulletproof Boy Scouts). 8) So What is, indeed, very entertaining to watch live! They always go crazy. Can't wait for you to dive into their live performances! 9) Sea is only on physical albums I believe, it's because they wanted only ARMY to listen to it (because it's about how they struggled as a group, it's very personal). They have a lot of songs (and covers) on SoundCloud, too, which are for free and kind of like gifts to their fans. They could make money out of everything (ARMY is willing to pay anytime) but they chose not to, which really shows how much they care about us and love us. Their SoundCloud is our safe place (I'm sure you're gonna love Jungkook's 'Still With You'). 10) Mic Drop remix by Steve Aoki is on LY: Answer, so you'll get to it eventually. Can't wait for the amazing finale!!
Michel
2021-10-22 21:48:56 +0000 UTCFor Outro: Tear, I also really like Suga pulling back the delivery toward the end of his verse. For me, you could on the receiving end maybe pretend he doesn't mean what he said earlier, that he's just angry and venting. But the scaled back delivery just reinforces how serious it is because it's delivered as matter of fact - the fixed answer they reference later. There's no more resentment, it's just a statement of fact. And that matter of factness just makes it hit so much harder than if he had continued with the aggressive delivery. Such a great artistic choice.
Lauren
2021-10-22 20:50:38 +0000 UTCMagic Shop is definitely known as a fan favorite because this is a song written for ARMY. Jungkook actually wrote and produced this song. I understand how it can be interpreted in the LY: love storyline, and they did that intentionally, but it was actually written for the fans. Essentially saying “when army’s are feeling sad, if we open the door to the magic shop, BTS will be there to comfort us” “BTS wants to see how the stars in our galaxy embroider our sky” “We gave Bangtan the best of them, so they want us to give the best of us to ourselves”. I listen to this song when I feel sad and it comforts me very much. You should definitely react to the live performance, you can feel the connection between ARMY and Bangtan (BTS= Bangtan Sonyeondan= Bulletproof Boy Scouts). Ahh! I can’t wait for you to get into the MV’s and Live performance, it definitely is a whole another art. No pressure though :)

2021-10-22 14:17:40 +0000 UTCfirst love was also the song that hooked me to dive into their lyricism!! I remember hearing it and thought it was about romantic love but he poured his heart out so I was like "who hurt u?" and when I read the lyrics it turned out to be his love for music and that's what made me check out all of their lyrics

2021-10-22 09:01:09 +0000 UTCWhat a great reaction, thank you so much. This album is so brilliant and I just love hearing thoughtful people talk about it because as is the nature of most things BTS does, there are so many layers and I always come away with new thoughts about the music and their message. Your reaction to Sea made me think you are REALLY going to appreciate RM’s mixtape mono. I’ll look forward to whenever you are ready to get to that one!

I love your reaction and input on the meanings so much so I can’t wait to see your reaction to the rest of the albums! Also can’t wait for you to watch their live performances and music videos!!! They are literally a whole other level Also side note that you mentioned all three of my big fandoms in this video and I am living for it! (BTS, Harry Potter, and Tswizzle)

2021-10-22 01:12:21 +0000 UTCAlso, when you learned that Outro: Tear was inspired by their conversations about disbanding I was reminded of their very emotional Artist of the Year acceptance speech at the 2018 MAMA awards, where they reference that time. I'm so grateful that you recognize how much of themselves they put into what they do. They're so good at maintaining very private lives, yet putting every ounce of their being and experiences into these songs and onto the stage.

2021-10-22 00:34:27 +0000 UTCThank you, thank you for sharing your reactions with all of us. I remember thinking immediately after Fake Love, when TTU was coming next, that what you do here is really courageous and generous--being vulnerable and willing to process or sit in the pain of these songs with us. I also knew what songs were coming, so I hoped you'd find healing in them. I'm always amazed at how well the team sequences every song to tell a bigger story. Was so excited to hear you say you'll be reacting to live performances, because the lyrics, singing, and production are already excellent, and when you add in the choreography and the members being able to tell these stories directly to the audience, it's just a whole other experience. If you plan on watching full concerts, either to react to or just for yourself, there are two parts to the tour promoting this album series. There are shows for the Love Yourself tour from mid-2018 to spring 2019. Then an extension of stadium shows, that also incorporated MOTS: Persona, called Love Yourself: Speak Yourself that ran until late 2019. I recommend watching something from both because the set lists are slightly different, and the sets and stages got upgrades. I used to watch performances from some of these shows on YT, but there are full concerts from multiple legs of these tours on VLIVE and Weverse available for purchase. Every show I've seen is SO GOOD, and if I find myself feeling a little low, I found putting on one of these concerts from this series so comforting and energizing. Can't wait to see how you like the final album! Thank you again!!

2021-10-22 00:22:27 +0000 UTCThank you for the awesome reaction. I know how you felt as you were going through each song, its a rollercoaster of emotion. I really love this album. Every song on it is amazing. My favorites are probably Magic Shop (its a fan song and its so sweet live), Outro: Tear, and The Truth Untold, but honestly all the songs on this album rank high on my favorite bts songs list.

2021-10-22 00:06:48 +0000 UTCOh and regarding 134340 (Pluto). It’s a world play about Pluto and how it’s no longer considered a planet of the solar system yet it still revolves around the sun which tied perfectly with that love. They can no longer consider themselves their lover but they still revolve around that person. They also chose Pluto cause it’s the furthest “planet” from the sun so they’re emphasising the distance that has grown between each other. Hope this helps a little :)

2021-10-21 22:48:56 +0000 UTCHiii!! Thank you so much for reacting to this album!! I always enjoy your reactions. If you want to react to live performances I would advise you to react to the ones from the Speak Yourself Tour since it’s kind of the upgraded version of the Love Yourself one. Please make sure you react to: Mic Drop live Speak Yourself in Wembley and Outro Tear in Wembley as well (those are the best ones in my opinion)

2021-10-21 22:34:56 +0000 UTCIn love maze as well, some of Jin's parts are attributed to Jimin? They seem to get confused between jimin/jin and jhope/suga a lot in their videos for some reason.

2021-10-21 20:48:39 +0000 UTCThank you so much for this reaction!!! I’m watching this at work, lol! 💜 LY: Tear is my favorite album and I think it will always be my favorite! I literally love every song off of it, lol! Paradise is actually the song that made me ARMY, the lyrics really spoke to me and have helped me immensely. It’s where I truly realized how different and special BTS are. The Truth Untold and 134340(Pluto) are right up there with Paradise as well. Anpanman is a Japanese cartoon super hero, when Anpanman comes across a starving creature or person, he lets them eat a part of his head. This can also make him weaker and causes him to replace his head to regain his strength. He’s only real super power is super hearing, which allows him to respond to anyone who calls his name out in distress, anywhere in the world. I think BTS relate to Anpanman because they also give away pieces of them selves through their music(Giving fans so many healing songs, but also dealing with the criticism), but also because they’re so famous. There’s things they had to give up or can’t do(At least not openly) because of their fame. I literally can’t wait for you to watch their live performances!! Also for the Paradise lyric video, at 47:19 it was actually JHope who did the next verse, not Suga. And for Love Maze there were a few times where Jimin and Jin would split a verse, but the video only showed Jimin(Jin actually sings “Baby, Just don’t give a damn”). And for Airplane pt. 2, Jin sings the lyrics “We still” and “I still”, not Jungkook.

2021-10-21 20:47:16 +0000 UTCAlmost everything has just been said, but im so happy about this reaction because I can relate to it so much. The up and downs of emotions makes this album a gold one for sure. Looking forward for the live versions of the songs because it really makes the experience a hundred times better. Can wait for love yourself answer.

2021-10-21 19:58:27 +0000 UTCLove your reactions to BTS. I had a feeling this album was as going to hit you hard. Once you start watching live performances you will learn to distinguish the vocal line as the lyric videos in this reaction were not always correct throughout the song. I was never a person that paid much attention to rap music other than the odd hip hop songs that were mainstream in the 90’s, but listening to the BTS rap line gets me every time and Outro Tear is one of my absolute favourites, but hooked me in was Suga’s ‘First Love’. My bias is Jungkook because his voice is just like honey, but the uniqueness of everyone from rap to vocal and the way they marry the two is really addicting. I can’t go a day without listening to BTS. The sincerity and honesty in their lyrics really connect to you on top of their visual artistry. Cannot wait to watch the next reaction, and hear more of your insightful thought.

2021-10-21 18:42:42 +0000 UTCYou have no idea how many times a day I refresh my patreon feed just to see if you’ve posted a BTS reaction…I really love your reaction…I’m really looking forward to you listening to trivia:love and Ly:answer (the song). Also, when you listen to the song “am fine” please listen to the song “save me” just before so you can get the full experience. They did it on the tiny desk concert and its from another album but you definitely have to play them back to back. Even when bts perform it, they usually perform save me first because it just makes sense…again, love your reactions..

2021-10-21 18:12:58 +0000 UTCoverall a great reaction! i have always said this album is one of their most superior albums for me n has been ever since its release. really looking forward to you getting into the live performances as both the energy of the performance n the choreos for the songs add so much to the music. the meaning behind tear with the members often reminds me of their mamas 2018 artist of the year speech when we found out about them considering disbandment. its a very emotional speech to watch maybe in a later reaction or in your own free time. thank you for this, looking forward to the answer reaction!

2021-10-21 18:02:55 +0000 UTCI was so happy when I saw this post of one of my favourite albums from BTS and I had to watch it right away. Like always, it is a pleasure to go on this journey of discovery with you and seeing you connect to the lyrics and stories that BTS are telling is wonderful. Others have gone into explaining some of your questions so I’m not going to get into that, I just wanted to inform you that many, if not all of the videos got the line distribution for the boys wrong. Sometimes more and sometimes less. It is not really a big deal just figured I’d share. What I really wanted to say was that these videos bring me a lot of joy, even if I get a little emotional listening to some of the songs.

2021-10-21 17:39:13 +0000 UTCYou are so empathetic and i relate so much! When i read the lyrics and even the song itself without knowing the lyrics can make me feel so much that it is very hard to come back to real world. Absolutely love your album reactions💜

2021-10-21 17:29:59 +0000 UTCi wouldnt rely on the lyric videos too much to figure out who is singing/rapping when. i havent finished watching the full reaction yet but i noticed at the end of fake love it showed v and jimin when the last few lines are jin and jungkook then in paradise the last part of what you thought was suga’s verse was actually jhope. after watching more of the reaction it seems to be mainly the jaeguchi videos that get them mixed up so maybe avoid those if possible?

2021-10-21 17:19:20 +0000 UTCHELLOO! ☺️ Hope you’re doing well. I always love your reactions so sweet and genuine. I love that you take the time to understand the lyrics and make them your own. I hope you keep reacting to BTS! I know they have a lot of content and it can get a bit overwhelming sometimes. If you ever feel like we’re asking for too much just let us know, ARMYS are understanding! 💜💜 also The Truth Untold is also my fav song and it still hits me as if it was my first time listening to it.

2021-10-21 16:09:25 +0000 UTCThis album holds a special place in my heart. I found BTS right after Fake Love came out (and the album). It was the first album I ever heard completely and I fell down the rabbit hole hard. I don't regret anything at all. I love so many of their songs but I think Magic Shop is my favorite from this album. Although the rest are a close second. 💜💜💜💜

2021-10-21 16:06:11 +0000 UTCYou read doolset for Outro Tear so you know what the song is about so I wont have a long comment here, but I will add a little. We didn't know that this song was a song about their possible disbandment until like 2 years after the album dropped and it hit us like a truck. They do such a good job having songs with two faces. Just like every song it fits the theme, but it also is about something so personal. I love them yall.

2021-10-21 15:47:28 +0000 UTCIt is NOT an actual Italian story. I’m not really sure why people even try to argue that. It was made-up by BigHit. You will not find the story anywhere before BigHit wrote it. It’s nowhere in Italian myths or folklore. It’s made-up by BigHit. I’m saying this as an Italian.

2021-10-21 15:27:22 +0000 UTCFirst of all, you were so on point with your reaction as always! Couldn’t agree more. Now let’s get into all things that I have to say. Yes, I completely agree with you on listening to music depending on my mood cause that can change the direction of how the rest of my day or days would be spent. I’m sorry but not sorry that you got into it this way haha. The truth untold hits completely different for anyone who has been on the journey of dealing with mental health issues on a daily basis. My initial reaction to the song was oh it’s a beautiful song and yet so heart breaking but ever since I understood my mental health issues I have learned to love this song on another level. It almost made me feel like I’m not alone when I feel these things. That’s the with the love yourself series. It has taught me and comforted me in so many ways that I have not her option but to be emotional. As someone who doesn’t understand Korean, I looked up the lyrics just like you and now when I have BTS songs on loop I remember the feeling of not being alone. They always comfort me…it’s almost like saying it’s okay, you’ll get through it. There is always something to relate to learn from in BTS songs. Like magic shop how do you listen to that song and not feel comforted. It’s like all the problems will be dealt with together. BTS songs can be about ARMY and BTS’s relationship and about your personal relationships. Most of the songs feel that way. It’s all about your interpretation. (Btw it’s one of the songs that BTS loves singing with ARMY at the end of concerts) Loved your reaction to anpanman haha. Btw BTS stands for bangtan sonyeondan (Bulletproof Boy Scouts) hence the keep ballin ballin still bangtan! And just fyi - RM was a popular underground rapper before he became a part of big hit entertainment. He also was the reason for Jung kook to choose big hit cause he had other companies fighting for him. Jhope originally didn’t not come in as a rapper. He built on his skills and has become this talented sunshine of a person. And as for Suga - never seen anyone so musically talented. He has so much skill. This industry is blessed to have him. Once you are done with all of BTS albums you should do the individual albums. Only the rappers have put out their mixtapes and they are mind blowing. (RM, Jhope and AugustD) This album came out in 2018 and in the beginning of that year during an award acceptance speech for “artist of the year” all the members cried cause jin said we had been contemplating if we should quit or continue cause they were so mentally exhausted and then they were given an award. Their career skyrocketed after this but it broke everyone heart so much to hear this. Especially the people who have been with them since the beginning know how much they went through to be where they are. Sorry I have gone on and on and this probably feels like my personal note but I had so much to say. Thanks again for your reaction💜

2021-10-21 15:06:49 +0000 UTCI will steal from Doolset again here to explain what Magic Shop is. "This is a song dedicated to the fans of BTS, ARMY (the second official fan song after Two! Three!). It is known that the theme of “Magic Shop” is inspired by a book, “Into the Magic Shop” by James R. Doty. The first teaser of FAKE LOVE explains “Magic Shop” as a psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude." Magic Shop does fit within the themes of the album and like you said, can be taken as a continuation of the story they are trying to tell with the love yourself trilogy, but its most primary function is to be a love song to the fans. Jungkook wrote this song. There are a lot of references to past songs here so I understand how you would interpret that as being a part of the love yourself story but there are even more references to personal experiences. Such as the way Namjoon heavily refers to ARMYs galaxy. He has always equated the way our light sticks (ARMY Bombs) shine in a concert to a milky way. In Microcosmos (MOTS) he talks about that same idea. We are our own planets that orbit him. Suga directly references one of his most brutally honest songs about his mental health that he has ever written "The last" The lyric in The Last goes : "The monster, my success earned at the cost of my youth, wants greater wealth The greed that used to be my weapon now swallows me, ruins me, and puts a leash around my neck" The Magic Shop reference: "To compare myself against others became my daily life, and my greed, which used to be my weapon, became a leash that chokes me. But then, looking back, actually, I feel like it’s not that I wanted to become the best I wanted to comfort and move your heart I want to take away your sorrow and pain" There are so many more references and messages sprinkled throughout this song and its truly one of the most sincere love letters to fans. Just letting us know that hardships will come, and they arent in the position to fix it for us, but there will always be a spot for them to find comfort when ever they need it with BTS. The Magic Shop in your mind. if your interested Doolset added some more direct references in a twitter thread here: https://twitter.com/doolsetbangtan/status/998602772990873601?lang=en

2021-10-21 15:04:13 +0000 UTCYou've done a reaction to So What live already but I would love to see you react to it again now that you know the song and the lyrics, cause you seemed lost when you reacted to the live one haha Also would really love for you to check out Magic Shop Live. If I'm not mistaken Jungkook produced that song and it was dedicated to the fans, so when they're basically saying when we hate ourselves and want to disappear we can come to them, they are the Magic Shop, and they will be waiting for us there, and we will find comfort. Also at the end the lyrics say "You gave me the best of me" , talking to the fans, "So you'll give you the best of you", basically, telling us to be kind towards ourselves. I cried while watching it live because they are singing these lyrics while looking at the crowd and it's so beautiful to me.

2021-10-21 14:56:51 +0000 UTCThe story of The Truth Untold is probably even more sad if you know what it's based on. I think it's an actual Italian folktale (people still argue whether it exists or not), but Big Hit changed it and it became a backstory for the Smeraldo flower, which is a made-up flower that is a huge part of their storyline. It's a story of an ugly man who lives alone in the castle surrounded by a garden with beautiful flowers. Everyday he sees a girl that comes and steals one of the flowers. He wants to talk to her, but doesn't because he's scared she would run away if she saw how ugly he is. So he just watches her. He finds out she's stealing the flowers because she doesn't have anything to live off of and she sells them to survive. So he decides to create a new flower for her that she could then sell for a much higher price. So he puts everything into growing this new flower and finally he creates a perfect one and he puts it in the garden and waits for the girl to come. But she never does, because she unfortunately dies before he has a chance to give her the flower.

2021-10-21 14:37:45 +0000 UTCMagic Shop is a song that Jungkook wrote for ARMY and the term itself refers to a psychotherapeutic technique where you learn to turn fear into positive attitude. It also ties in to their storyline, where they exchange objects that are a source of pain for them for something that might help them.

2021-10-21 14:30:49 +0000 UTCParadise is such a special song. Suga wrote it based on something he's talked about in songs before. This is a direct quote from him about the song. “"I told fans that dreams aren't necessary, that being happy is enough. That's how the song was born. The world never teaches you how to dream but it always promotes competition. I'd like many who are tired from the competition to listen to this song. I'd like those tired souls to find rest through paradise.” this song comforts you and tell you that it’s okay not to have a dream. This is something he's talked about a lot. One specific instance really effected me personally because I have always planned to be a front man for a rock band. I had no other plans. Just blind faith that it would happen. But all the sudden I was 27 with a 2 year old working at Pizza Hut and I felt like I had completely lost who I was because I wasn't chasing my dream anymore. That year FESTA rolled around (its a yearly anniversary celebration for army and bts where they do something special every day for almost the whole month) and Yoongi (Suga) did a solo radio show. he read fan questions and responded to them. Here was one. In the show, a fan wrote: "I gave up my dream." And Suga's response was: "I don't know what happened but it must have required tremendous courage. Making a bold decision to give up means you have great courage. You've worked hard. Fighting." and man, when I tell you I criiiiiied. I felt a little insane because it wasn't even directed at me but it so so so felt like it was. It was applicable to me at least. Then this song came out and its comforted me ever since.

2021-10-21 14:29:00 +0000 UTCAnpanman is a superhero that really fits BTS, because he doesn't necessarily safe people with his own powers, but he gives them strenght so they could do it themselves. He literally gives out parts of himself to people to feed them.

2021-10-21 14:27:50 +0000 UTCOh also something for you to consider: there is a track on Love Yourself Answer called I'm Fine that directly responds to a previous track called Save Me from their album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever (2016). You heard this song when you watched their Tiny Desk concert. You could listen to Save Me again (on your own or on camera) before listening to the Answer album to get the full I'm Fine experience. Just something to think about.

2021-10-21 14:18:54 +0000 UTCpeople have explained 13430 for you here but I'm going to comment one of my favorite lines of the song with commentary from Doolset Lyrics for context here to show you how cool it is. "Would it be really that you’ve found Eris" Eris is a dwarf planet discovered in 2005 and is more massive than Pluto. The discovery of Eris is essentially what initiated the re-classification of Pluto.

2021-10-21 14:02:33 +0000 UTCOh man thank you for this. Tear really is a gold album. You know how you said "wow it started so dark and then got lighter, but then ended with tear so it's back to sadness and darkness?" Another mirage. The album track list in order is a mirage to make you think it's getting better but it's not. That's why Outro Tear hits so hard, bc it brings you back to the reality the fake love needs to end.

2021-10-21 13:56:22 +0000 UTCAbsolutely loved the reaction and yeah LY: Tear breaks the best of us so we all sympathise with what u went through on this album. Now to answer some questions and clarify some things. Since someone already did 134340 I'm not gonna put that here .... From doolset: This is a song dedicated to the fans of BTS, ARMY (the second official fan song after Two! Three!). It is known that the theme of “Magic Shop” is inspired by a book, “Into the Magic Shop” by James R. Doty. The first teaser of FAKE LOVE explains “Magic Shop” as a psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude. Magic Shop is basically a song where the members are saying let's create a safe space in the hearts of the fans so that whenever we as fans are feeling down and horrible, we can open that door into the magic shop and the 7 members of BTS will be there to comfort us. Airplane Pt. 2 is a follow up to J Hope's solo song from his mix tape Hope World hence the Pt.2...and yeah the song is about BTS loving their work and all that they do but also especially in Suga's verse it also a bit of a call out to others in the industry who are only making music to make money and also got all the benefits of being the media's darlings vs BTS who has to fight for everything and were and still are constantly disregarded by the media even when their achievements are so much bigger than other so called "media darlings" just because they started from a small agency that did not have the same connections that the bigger companies had. Anpanman is a superhero who doesn't have any superpowers but his head is made of Red Bean paste so he helps people by tearing of pieces of himself and giving them to people, in the same way that the only way BTS know how to help their fans is by giving pieces of themselves and telling us their stories and showing us their struggles. Also Bangtan that u said u had heard is just BTS their name is Bangtan Sonyeondan which stands for Bulletproof Boy Scouts and the shortened version of it is just BTS...so when they say Balling balling still Bangtan they mean that even with little powers and trying to help, they are still BTS, still themselves.
Disha
2021-10-21 13:48:26 +0000 UTCSea was a hidden track for a very specific reason. When LY Her came out they were just starting to gain acknowledgement from the west so to a lot of people they were new. But they have been going for years at that point and had already gone through so much. They knew they would have more eyes on them and they didn't want the song to be misinterpreted by critics or new fans as them complaining about being where they are at as if they didn't earn it. They knew that generally speaking the only people who bought albums were the people who had been along with them through these hardships and would understand the weight of the song that general audiences might take as whining for no reason.
Booryanne
2021-10-21 13:43:54 +0000 UTC134340 is a code Pluto was given when it was stripped off its full planet status. And they took that concept and compared it to a situation where you stop being important to someone and pushed aside as insignificant all of a sudden. Like the line about how they were once part of the Sun's world, refers to the planets in solar system. Pluto was once on the same level as the other planets but then it was re-classified. That's also why they talked about not having a name anymore at the beginning, because I think after the re-classification, Pluto started to be referred to by number in science, just like other dwarf planets.
