BTS - You Never Walk Alone - Full Album Reaction
Added 2022-03-06 19:40:46 +0000 UTCBegin is EVERYTHING for me. i also cannot get over SUGA'S brain and skills, Jimins high notes, and RM's softness and vulnerability. Thanks for being patient everyone!!
Also, my camera malfunctioned at the end, doesn't affect the video much, but you'll see.

i havent listened to 21st century girl in a long time and i think i like it more hearing it now, im not one for the empty drops eithe but i think it fits well into 21st century girl bc its meant to just be like a party dance kinda song celebrating women for who they are

2024-01-16 19:28:57 +0000 UTCFinally! You saw some of their choreography. I have been waiting for you to discover more of the depths of their artistry that you were missing out on. I know I am late to this party, but I am watching in order as much as I can and have been so anxious for you to discover all their complex choreography and their amazing live performances, the amazing live band and the all the visual storytelling aspects to their art that you have been missing.

2022-07-13 15:38:07 +0000 UTCI feel like it‘s really hard to recommend interviews because they so rarely get asked questions with substance, especially in the US… There is one called „BTS break down their albums“ I think taht could be interesting for you. I personally think the Festa talks from 2021 or 2018,19… on YouTube are a great way to get to know them a bit. The BE interviews are also really cool because they interviewed each other.

2022-05-30 12:43:08 +0000 UTCYNWA/Wings is what I listen to for my daily walk. I tend to count in my head when walking and did you notice that Jimin’s Lie is 6/8 when I can’t think of other songs that are in 6/8, except for classical music. I love J-Hope’s Boy Meets Evil MV… it definitely showcases his dancing skills. I love all the solos here and I hope you’ll check out the live versions of these song. I am done watching all your BTS album reaction and look forward to The Most Beautiful Moment in Life series.

2022-05-18 04:32:13 +0000 UTCI just paused the video at the point where you're talking about how self-aware the guys are and dammnnnn it makes me sooo excited for when you're eventually going to start watching videos of them and interviews and see how really grounded they are (and keep themselves and each other in check). You will be truly amazed at how self-aware and emotionally intelligent they are, I really can't wait for it because I just know how much more you are going to fall in love with them. That's why I stayed with them and love them so much and not necessarily other groups. Because of how humble they are and of course their relationship with each other:))

2022-03-21 03:20:32 +0000 UTCI think I also prefer the HYYH era and I don’t think it’s an unpopular opinion. The YNWA is special to me because of it gave us Spring Day and 2!3! 💜
Alicia
2022-03-20 11:46:53 +0000 UTCSpring Day definitely requires an explanation and context, especially the music video, because there's so much to delve into there. This song is really special. I've seen people mention the Sewol ferry tragedy and if you want to see the context, I recommend an explanation video called What You Still Don't Know about BTS Spring Day MV by Italian ARMY. Both the shoes and the clothes, for example, are a reminder of people who passed away.

2022-03-15 18:32:20 +0000 UTCLove watching your BTS journey! I cannot freaking wait until you dive into the mixtapes 😩 especially D2 (AugustD), Mono (RM), and HopeWorld (J-Hope)! ✨👀

2022-03-13 14:35:20 +0000 UTCOh man, Wings/ You Never Walk Alone is truly a masterpiece! YNWA and the LY series are my favorite BTS albums!💜 So all the solo songs in this are connected to BTS's fictional storyline that runs through MVs, two books, a webtoon/comic, short films, etc that's called the BU(Bangtan Universe), but the solos also have another meaning that is personal to each member(Not sure if JHope's Boy Meets Evil has a second meaning). For example, we know Jimin's song Lie is about the lie he used to tell himself, he used to be VERY hard on himself whenever he thought he made a mistake. And for V's song Stigma, we don't know his personal meaning, though there are theories of what it could be about. Also, including myself there are 7 sibling in my family as well, though I'm the second to last born. I have 3 sisters and 3 brothers!😊 Oh Michael, you're definitely ARMY. I would totally watch a 4 hour reaction, if your okay with it and I would LOOOOOVE to see you interview BTS!!! Omg, that would be incredible! Everytime I hear the studio version of MAMA, I always wait for the live ad libs JHope adds!! Oh Jin's solos always hit me hard, so heartbreakingly beautiful! I recommend reading Doolset's lyrics for Am I Wrong because the lyric about dogs and pigs is actually a references to a Korean politician who called their citizens pigs and dogs. Also Not Today has a quote from Martin Luther King Jr., “If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” Oh I forgot to add that 2, 3 I believe was the first offical song dedicated to ARMY. 💜😊💜

2022-03-12 23:26:11 +0000 UTC“MAMA” live is just so incredibly beautiful because Hoseok (jhope) put so much emotion into his performance ❤️
Bangtan is life
2022-03-12 23:07:17 +0000 UTCI’m surprised nobody mentioned this but wings is heavily inspired by a book by Herman Hesse called “Demian”. I bought it because of BTS but still haven’t read it, but it is especially about a boy facing temptation and growing up! I never thought I needed to know about literature when it came to an artist before but that’s BTS for you 😂 their series Map of the Soul: Persona and 7 was inspired by Carl Jung’s Map of the Soul , which is yet another book I bought because of BTS lmao
Bangtan is life

2022-03-12 21:33:28 +0000 UTCThanks for doing these! I hope you, at some point, go through the music videos for some of these. Boy Meets Evil has one of the best videos, and so does Blood, Sweat, and Tears.

2022-03-09 11:37:30 +0000 UTCAnd part 3, whew! I need to come here at the top of the day, rather than the end. Ok, there is SO much to say about the Spring Day official MV; it touches on several things at once to create a complex and layered narrative centering around loss/grief isolation/loneliness, and the idea of false happiness. As with so many of their works, reading and research open up new layers. In this MV we have 3 stories occurring at once The Sewol Ferry tragedy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinking_of_MV_Sewol Individuality, anonymity, life, and death: No Man’s Land - Christian Boltanski https://www.artnews.com/art-in-america/features/christian-boltanski-no-mans-land-57961/ A commentary on modern society's ability to turn our back upon the suffering of others to enjoy our own, [false], happiness. The individual vs society, and morality The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas - Ursula K LeGuin and this doesn't even cover the lyrics {whoosh] Not Today: "I wrote the lyrics for BTS so we do not stay silent against social issues and injustice and continue to solve it and raise problems. We talk about social issues, read books and meet with experts and ponder together. We still have a long way to go, but we will think hard and embrace criticism."[" -RM Yeah, that's Jimin twirling into the shot with perfection. If you ever wanna see more of this footwork: https://youtu.be/_PwYjNh1bww So BTS is the Bulletproof Vest in this instance iIrc, the people in black are the nameless faceless masses of ARMY/youth fighting against the injustices of society Wings: that lyric I knew these wings would make me fly, I always think crow-tits vs Storks, they are able to fly with their wings now: I believe on the Wings album it's "Interlude Wings" and it's the last song. On this album, it's a longer remix of the same song I don't know why it's not last, however. You're looking at images from earlier songs and MVs [HYYH] I love how you hear them, it's really amazing and invites me to listen with different ears. You rock, I can't wait for HYYH and I cannot wait for you to go on a video run, I'd love you to do those from the first, MV, however ;)

2022-03-09 05:06:08 +0000 UTC2 hours and 30 minutes long, it's like having a delicious meal I have been waiting patiently for it 😭💜 you really need to watch this ARMYs chanting "We love you" to Namjoon @ The Wings Tour in Brazil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pw6lLqxSa14 I have hopes that you will watch it as a reaction video and share it with us (0:49 seconds long), but even if that's not the case.. just watch it by yourself, it's worth it ..(Namjoon is RM also he is the Leader of BTS) BTS Age: JIN:1992 SUGA:1993 J-hope:1994 RM: 1994 JIMIN:1995 V:1995 JUNGKOOK:1997

2022-03-08 22:12:30 +0000 UTCim just commenting wile i watch the reaction :) a comment about "am i wrong" is that that song its pretty much confirmed to be a political stament againts the south Korean goverment at that time, the line about pigs and dogs its referencing something they said. not only that but a lot of artits were being black listed at the time for speaking againts the goverment yet they still decided to perform this song in national television.

2022-03-08 19:58:04 +0000 UTCAmi do you hear me, I am ami too ;) and I am very excited that you mentioned their Wings Final and Speak Yourself in Sao Paulo, bc those are my two favorite concerts aswell (meaning I have watched them a couple extra multiple times than the other ones which I watched multiple times) tbh I adore pretty much every concert for different reasons, no matter if it's the Fanmeetings, Japanese Concerts, or the Love Yourself in Seoul when they started the tour or the HYYH ... but the 4th Muster, the Wings Final and the Sao Paulo one are definitely my favorite concerts of all time.

2022-03-08 19:11:32 +0000 UTCI admire Jin so, so, so, SO much. Best hyung ever. He has so much character and is such a backbone to that group. I remember in... i think it was one of the YouTube docu-series.... he says his goal is to be a hyung that his other members can depend on. Achieved, 10,000%. Amazing voice. Amazing work ethic. Amazing person. I'm so thankful he took the bus that day. No one else would do as BTS's oldest member.

2022-03-08 19:08:41 +0000 UTComg HYYH era is next. that era is so beautiful and meaningful to me and honestly (kind of an unpopular opinion), is way better than wings era imo (even tho wings era is amazing too). i cant wait to experience that trilogy again with you. thank you for sharing you reactions to bts with us. ily <3

2022-03-08 18:20:40 +0000 UTCI find Amazing how you can gather RMs leadership with just a couple of interviews, he is in fact the leader of the group . A comentary about reflection is that a lot of people go to the Han river to commit suicide, so my interpretations when he’s talking about the person who’s looking at the Han river was always about someone having suicidal thoughts

2022-03-08 17:47:12 +0000 UTCI can't put into words how much I love your reactions. They remind me so much of my own journey walking through each album. I know you are still walking through the music, and you have so many music videos and other content to catch, but there is a fan made documentary series called Rise of Bangtan on youtube that I think would be so beneficial to watch when you get to the point of wanting to know the guys and their journey better. It's incredibly in depth and well put together, letting the actual footage of the guys tell the story rather than a narrator and is such a good entry point to learning about them that I wish I had when I was a baby ARMY overwhelmed by everything. Just thought I'd put that out there for you to consider. Thanks so much as always. Looking forward to your next BTS video eagerly.

2022-03-08 13:38:59 +0000 UTCI feel like he can always go back and watch the lives/MVs/etc after he listens through the albums; there's no wrong way but there's something refreshing about listening to the discography through for me :D

2022-03-08 07:34:32 +0000 UTCI agree, those would be great concerts to check out and Rise of Bangtan is the best. Honestly I would skip other introduction videos (I always see comments suggesting them) in favor of that series, they show most of the same content but with more context and explanation. Just my two cents. :)

2022-03-08 07:26:19 +0000 UTCOK, part two for me Namjoon {RM] is currently, and still the most fluent in English. Jungkook, has attended English school [online] and I know that Hobi was also doing a course last year. Yoongi [SUGA] has also studied English and folks cannot convince me that he's not fluent; regardless of his English fluency, he chooses to speak his native Korean most often. Wait until you see live footage of ARMY yelling back to him, Mama: Live Mama with the gospel choir is the happiest thing. Awake. I can't express how Jin's voice works with these ballads. There's something so moving, and those dang high notes. I'm often full of envy because he makes it sound easy. I loved your comment about how Lost builds up and the drop isn't empty, it immediately goes someplace. Love that attention to a detail I'd have missed. Aaand JK fanboi-ing. Love that you and I react the same way to these things. And yes that is Jimin slaying us with those high note adlibs. The Cyphers make me yell [and it's bedtime, dammit] I love them so dang much. I seriously can't act right when I hear them. Each flow is perfect for this Cypher, so much happens. ONLY BTS drops a diss and makes the target need a dictionary and say thank you for improving their mind. Am I wrong, I hear old-time something... that guitar is delicious, and Jimin's high notes and runs just slay me. OK, hunted it down. Keb Mo, and yup it's a sample of his song Am I Wrong Keb Mo is known for Delta Blues explains that 'old-timey blues feel I picked up and the subtle calypso swing may also be a product of Keb Mo's influence I actually love this song *because* of the way the guitar is used and I can't explain what it is about this style, but it really works for me.

2022-03-08 07:13:20 +0000 UTCI'm just commenting as I watch, but you absolutely must watch Jimin's performance Lie live. It's crazy good. His dancing is out of this world. JK's dance to begin is also phenomenal!

2022-03-08 06:46:09 +0000 UTCIt would be a delight to watch the doolset portion, I'm always wishing there was more of this content. I love that you've been focusing on the albums and getting really get to know them through their music. You get it and it warms my heart. :) I want to say so much more, but I know you get hundreds of comments and some of them are like novels so I will spare you haha. Really enjoyed this, thank you. Please never worry about the videos being too long!

2022-03-08 05:16:14 +0000 UTCYou are absolutely ARMY :D I wanted to say if you're ever interested in watching a full WINGS concert with these songs, it would be epic. I can send you a link for a file, just let me know :) Even if you just want to watch it for your own enjoyment ofc

2022-03-08 03:40:33 +0000 UTCThe animal refernces in Am I Wrong are actually seriously amazing. The concept of the “Inner Fish” (which Namjoon names “selfish”) is an evolutionary concept connecting all of humanity to its evolutionary ancestors (hes basically saying that we all have the same thing inside of us and have had it for a ages and that thing is selfishness.) The “dogs and pigs” is a direct reference to a political scandal at the time wherein a very successful politician made extremely classist remarks and called the working class “pigs and dogs.” So Suga is making a stab at that politician and at classism in Korea in general.

2022-03-08 03:17:01 +0000 UTCOnce u get into their solo songs its very helpful to know more about the members themselves. Specifically with Awake the contrxt of the formation of the band is very helpful to understanding. While all of the other members joined the band/were recruited for either their rapping/writing (RM, Suga), Dancing (Jimin, JHope) or Vocals (Jungkook, V), Seokjin was literally just scouted on the street because he’s pretty lol. So he had to learn to sing and dance from literally zero, while surrounded by the other members who were all very skilled and experienced already. Thats why he compares them to the flying petals, but feels like he himself cannot fly.
Han
2022-03-08 02:47:58 +0000 UTCi loved seeing you react to music videos! pls do more when you have a chance for the tracks you have already heard - the mvs add so much to the story <3 :)

2022-03-08 00:24:53 +0000 UTCYou should check BTS in the soop. It’s like a reality in mountains, you can see their personalities and how beautiful it’s the chemistry between the guys. Also at the same time it’s such a healing show because they reflect a lot about their life’s. I believe you would love to see it, because it’s so relaxing and healing but at the same time super fun.

2022-03-07 19:24:28 +0000 UTCSpring Day is NOT about the victims of the sewol ferry accident. The music video was DEDICATED to them, but the song was based on RM and Suga’s personal experiences with lost friendships.

2022-03-07 18:26:17 +0000 UTCi think it'd be really fun if you did some run bts reactions or interviews on here
Hanna
2022-03-07 17:10:38 +0000 UTCYes that’s one of my fav details too! I’m also pretty sure they were inspired by Martin Luther King for both these songs, since he said: “ If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.”
CC
2022-03-07 16:48:53 +0000 UTCthese songs all live give w hole different level and vibe to the song oh my god you should really watch, and am I wrong is so so much more meaningful than it seems! they almost got blacklisted bc its a nudge to the government system and the corruption happening at the time, spring day is also a song about the loss of victims of the sewoll ferry accident that happened due to negligence from the government (hence the white shoes on the tree)

2022-03-07 16:27:36 +0000 UTCOh, and since you mentioned about getting to know more about their solo projects, I just want to highlight Mono, from RM. It is a remarkable compilation of incredible songs. It is super reflexive and emotional. A masterpiece.

2022-03-07 13:59:22 +0000 UTCJin said it was about loss and sad events, not a particular sad event. I see a lot of ARMY misunderstand that. PDogg is the only one who has said it was dedicated to the tragedy, which he still said the MV was, not that the actual song was inspired or written about it.
Ophelia
2022-03-07 13:41:12 +0000 UTCAlso find it cool that not today goes from if you can't fly, run. If you can't run, walk. If you can't walk, crawl. And then the supplementary story they sing to crawl then walk then run then fly

2022-03-07 10:56:23 +0000 UTCalso im so sorry im going on a tangent, I just love my boys. I was wondering if after you've been through their discography, if you were going to watch some concerts or like a documentary-series? if so, my favourite concerts are probably the "Wings Final" in Seoul and "Speak Yourself" in Sao Paolo (the energy in Brazil is insane). I also love their first docu-series "Burn the Stage" because it was the first time the boys were fully taking us along and showing what really happens on their tours. It's a really great piece to understand their hard work (also keep in mind this was like 2017 so the boys have grown even more since then haha). As for award show performances, MAMA 2016 is amazing. MAMA 2017 is also one of my favourites. MAMA and MMA 2018 (yes MAMA and MMA are two seperate award shows) are both masterpieces in their own rights, and im sure many people have given you their recommendations for 2019 and 2020 performances (although 2020 ones will miss Suga and not be in front of an audience for shoulder surgery and covid reasons).

2022-03-07 10:43:03 +0000 UTCLove your deep dive into their albums - the time you do spend enjoying and really taking in the lyrics and music is so very much appreciated. Everyone has already been so thorough in explaining a lot of the tracks and THAT MV for Spring Day. Bring tissues if you are going to watch the explanation video. When they did the Spring day MV and the song Am I Wrong BTS was very much rocking the boat in Korean politics as a veiled criticism about both the ferry tragedy .The ‘dogs and pigs’ line in Am I Wrong was basically a quote from a politician who described 99% of Koreans as dogs or pigs (ie animals who just needs to be fed and kept alive). This is pretty unusual for Korean artists and they got a lot of hate for it. 21st Century Girl I feel is a song in direct conversation with some of their (RM’s) earlier criticisms regarding mysoginy and I think (please correct me guys) an anthem for their female fans (who often gets disparaged for being ardent fans of theirs - remember the 15 year old girl joke by Corden?). Look forward to more political commentary from BTS in their song Baepsae (from the HYYH era). Although it will seem obvious later (but as you have not seen much of their live performances yet) - Dhul Sehtt or Doolset (2!3! in Korean) is how they introduce themselves ie “2!3! We are BTS”. Which is the reason this is the title of the song dedicated to ARMY. Cannot wait for HYYH. The Save Me music video is simple in its design but just beautifully shot, visually gorgeous - def one of my favorites. I do feel that you are missing perhaps 1/2 of the BTS experience by not watching their live performance/ choreography/ music videos as so much effort by them and their team goes into them. Thanks again for including BTS in your music content. I really look forward to watching your deep lyric dives and reactions.

2022-03-07 09:43:13 +0000 UTCSo the theory with the song Lie by Jimin is that he’s referring to the early days of BTS..See BTS started off as a completely hiphop group with the members being assigned “personas”. Rm was the badass in sunglasses,Jin was the mysterious one that didn’t talk much(which is kinda the opposite of Jin) and Jimin was the hot bad boy type. Jimin took off his shirt or showed his abs in performances and this had a really bad effect which is a very dark time for both Jimin and Army.. the pressure to maintain that kind of body at 18-19 years old was alot and Jimin developed a kind not so good relationship with food where he would go days without eating and anyone could see how drastically he had lost weight. As for the persona, while Jimin is very sexy, his personality is on the affectionate, cute (and sometimes androgynous) side so being the macho, bad boy type was just not him. Which affected him mentally as well. Thats why in the song says “caught in a lie”

2022-03-07 08:19:44 +0000 UTCSeriously, it's only your intro and I'm over here nodding my head. "this, so much of this. BTS kinda ruined me for other music and now, I have to make an effort to be fair and open to new music. Boy Meets Evil: I can't say this loud enough. please when you do your next request, I beg you. https://youtu.be/iJJSh-eEdRk if you think the lyrics are intense, the video is so O. M. G Begin: Watching you fanboy and fall in love with JK's voice every time. It fills my heart. Lie: ADORA, [I think] is the foreground run you heard Jimin's story, though the Lies he told himself When you learn that this is part of how Lie comes about, the intensity of the subject fits the powers of the composition and production of the song. Stigma: Taehyung [V] channeling his Motown soul. First Love: Yunki [SUGA] just grabs you and wrings your heart dry and you can't really breathe with the emotions for the entire dang time. My mouth just hit the floor because I was thinking about the Giving Tree [I loath that book, sorry to fans and Shel Silverstein] But I was sitting here thinking that this is a better version of that same story. Because while he neglects the piano, he doesn't destroy it [like the poor tree in the book]to find fulfillment, only to discover that his first love [the brown piano/music] has always been there for him. Holy cats, I can't believe you mentioned the book right after I thought about it.

2022-03-07 07:46:31 +0000 UTCThank you so much, this was amazing! I am always so thankful of how respectful you are and how seriously you take their lyrics and message, your analyses are some of my favourites. Now you’ve reached the point of having listened to enough songs to even catch the ongoing metaphors they love reusing and the links between albums! (I still believe the end of Reflection was a big inspiration for the Love Yourself series). A lot of people have already talked about spring day so I won’t repeat that, but I will highly highly recommend the music video for blood sweat and tears which is a masterpiece in my opinion! I was honestly similar to you where I didn’t love the song on its own but the visuals, symbolism and choreo elevate it to a whole other level. Yes, RM is literally (officially) the leader of BTS so you got the right vibes from him! All members love and respect him so much, he is the best leader they could have asked for honestly, constantly supporting everyone, mediating conflict, communicating between the group and the company, leading interviews as their main english speaker while giving every member room and encouragement to speak as well. Many army give him the nickname “president namjoon” haha - he’s the sweetest, kindest person who doesn’t deserve all the hate and animosity directed at him. In general, definitely keep in mind that many of BTS more up-tempo songs were mostly made with live performance and hardcore choreo in mind, so they do need a bit of instrumental breaks to make room for fan chants (ARMY chanting BTS’ names which are almost a part of the song itself honestly!) and give the singers a short chance to rest and catch their breath while dancing. If you ever want to watch a BTS concert, I highly recommend Wings (or the Love Yourself: Speak Yourself concerts from 2019 which you’ve watched a couple live performances of already). For a more detailed look at their journey and personalities, i recommend the series Rise Of Bangtan on youtube once you’re finished with the discography! It’s the best BTS docu series out there in my opinion. Thank you again, I love watching your journey like this!

2022-03-07 07:16:51 +0000 UTCOf course everyone can view it however feels right to them! As someone who has no connection to the tragedy, it does have a different meaning for my than someone who does. But it's also a big part of what Spring Day has become, and I think the explanation for the MV might help with understanding things such as the clothing pile etc. :)

2022-03-07 07:13:27 +0000 UTCWhen you actually get into the whole "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life" albums and consider reacting to Music Videos, I acually recommend watching the lyric video for "I NEED U" first and watching the Music Video after, without the subtitles. The Music Video "I NEED U (original Version)" tells a visual story outisde the lyrics. This is basically the beginning of BTS "Bangtan Universe" (BU) that ties their music videos and short films that were released outside of traditional music videos. Same goes fot their song "RUN" which is on "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt 2" album. I suggest also watching the lyric video first and then watch the music video without focusing on the lyrics but the visuals. In a lot of Music videos that followed after (from songs you have already heard because you listen to them in reverse) there are visuals and "easter eggs" hidden or incorporated that tie into the "Bangtan Universe". That includes "Blood Sweat & Tears (japanese version)" "Fake Love" "Euphoria". By the way the original "Blood Sweat & Tears" Music Video is no joke. I highly highly recommend watching it. Also if you ever are curious about the Bangtan Universe the "Wings SHORT FILMS #1- #7 are visually incredible just like their concert trailer for their "Wings Tour" . The short films include all the solos from the Wings Album you just listened to. If you are genuinely curious about the BTS Bangtan Universe please refer to the BU Website: http://bucontentgui.de/ -- it lists the releases in chronological order. The videos that are fit for a reaction are marked as "VID". Be aware about the videos and themes in I NEED U and the story line following the BU -- A general warning: the BU story directly deals with potentially triggering themes like suicide, abuse, accidents, mental illnesses, and parental neglect. None of these themes are treated lightly or trivialized, but if you are generally sensitive to these topics, please proceed with caution!

2022-03-07 06:08:47 +0000 UTCOkay, coming back to leave another quick "You are amazing!" comment now that I've finished the reaction (I'm the person who left the LOOOOONG comment about RM before). This reaction was amazing. Honestly, you put so much thought into understanding their lyrics and music; it is beautiful and heartwarming to hear your thoughts and I love picking up new things! Also, it was Jimin who spun backwards into the shot in the "Not Today" MV. Honestly, any member would have practiced enough to have been able to pull it off, but Jimin actually has a background in contemporary dance! In your free time, you might want to watch the MV for Black Swan - some of his contemporary dancing is featured there. You might find an intro to the members interesting at this point. This one is long, but it is by far my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0m_No-_fGw (Ignore the 'draft' in the title. The creator plans on updating a few things, but honestly it is great how it is.) Whether you record a reaction or just watch to enjoy, I think you'll really enjoy learning about the background of the members a bit more.

2022-03-07 05:40:42 +0000 UTCRelated to the album series for BTS: please listen to the albums "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt 1" and "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt 2" and not just the compilation album "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever". Please do it basically in the same style you did with the "Love Yourself" series, where you were able to listen to the albums in a coherent way "Her" first and "Tear" second and at the end added those songs, that weren't on the original two albums with "Answer". Thank you :)

2022-03-07 05:30:18 +0000 UTCFinally managed to watch everything! Thank you for reacting for this album, I had an amazing time listening to all the songs with you and remembering my first time with them :) Since you mentioned us calling them by different names than their stage names, here is a short list to help you (doesn't include nicknames): RM - Namjoon or Joon Suga - Yoongi Jhope - his real name is hoseok, but you'll probably see more armys call him hobi V - Taehyung or Tae Jin, Jimin and Jungkook stage names are their real names, you might see armys refer to Jungkook as JK. Of course, there are a lot of nicknames, but that's for another time :) About RM receiving hate. As much as it seems unbelievable that this gentle, kind and amazing man ever received hate, he was, in fact, the subject of online smear and hate campaigns along with the other members of the group. Fans of other kpop groups got together to trend hate hashtags against them and even wrote a petition to the blue house to have them investigated for cheating. RM even got death threats and they had to cancel one of their concerts. It was a very hard time for bts and armys who also got a lot of hate. If you ever watch a documentary about them (like Rise of Bangtan) or even just the "BTS hardships" vid by xceleste you'll have more of a background to that. Lie - I remember the first time i heard the song, i wasn't even army yet, i just started going down the rabbit hole, and when i heard it i was absolutely captivated, the music and jimin's vocals are simply perfection. One of my favorite bts songs ever. Spring Day - I can write pages upon pages about this song and the significance of the mv, but I'm sure a lot of ppl already said most of it. I'll just say, that I hope you'll watch the explanation vids, my fav is the one by Italian army but the other, shorter one, is also good. The song itself is about missing friends and waiting for that spring day when we'll meet again. BTS haven't performed this song in a few years, but then covid happened and a lot of ppl couldn't see their loved ones. So in the last 2 years they started singing it for us, to comfort us and give us hope. In 2020 a group of korean students and citizens got together and sang spring day together and made a beautiful vid, here is the link if you're interested https://youtu.be/RUk1r5Hp2H8 And yes, in Permission To Dance mv they were in the laundromat again but this time there were purple balloons inside the washing machine, which symbolize hope and the end of this pandemic.

2022-03-07 04:41:49 +0000 UTCI forgot to add - these fanchants are a great way to learn BTS names (and age) The fanchant is tructured as follows: the leader of the group followed by each member by age, IN ORDER from oldest to youngest. Which means "Kim Namjoon!" (RM; leader) "Kim Seokjin!" (JIN; oldest) "Min Yoongi!" (SUGA), "Jung Hoseok!" (J-HOPE), "Park Jimin!" (JIMIN), "Kim Taehyung!" (V), "Jeon Jungkook!" (JUNGKOOK; youngest) , "BTS!" it is always the same order, only the rythm changes based on the songs bpm.

2022-03-07 04:35:44 +0000 UTCI might have missed it in the comments above but I didn't see anyone mention how much 2!3! actually means to BTS and ARMY. This was BTS first "official" song dedicated to their fanbase ARMY. When they perform it, ARMY sing the last section of the song back to them acapella while the music cuts off - it is seriously one of the most beautiful moments - here is a video from one of their fanmeeting concerts - : "2!3! 3rd MUSTER fanmeeting" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZyFo_xrsyk&ab_channel=Lajibolala-Biella-) . A lot of their songs have sections and parts specifially dedicated for ARMY to sing in. Those sections are filled with "fan-chants". For example in Blood, Sweat & Tears there are a lot of instrumental breaks - these are, when BTS perform it live - filled with ARMY doing the fanchant and basically adding parts to the songs. So the song at first seams to have a lot of instrumental breaks, but ARMY fill those while rythmically chanting. In my opinion BTS has an incredible talent leaving some sections as an instrumental break, or leave the drop basically without lyrics, but still make it coherent and enjoyable to listen to on the album. But also using these instrumental breaks, so ARMY are added later on. (Seriously I cannot listen to "Blood, Sweat & Tears", "Idol", "Mic Drop", basically almost all of their lead singles but ESPECIALLY "Save Me", without hearing ARMY im my head) BTS is not just an artist that performs songs, gets applause and goes home. BTS specifially writes, structures and performs songs in a way, that their fans can "participate" and add something special to their songs, so BTS are in a way collaborating on their songs with ARMY. These fanchants are either released beforehand by BTS themselves for their lead singles, or coordinated by ARMY if it's a B-side track. I think this is one of my favorite depictions of ARMY doing the fanchant so crisp and structured it is very impressive (disclaimer: those lights the crowd has are called "ARMY BOMBS" every ARMY has one of those and are connected via bluetooth to the seats) "MIC DROP in Seoul" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yJsSabcxaM) ...here are some other examples of ARMY doing their magic and giving it their all, and as an ARMY myself this gets me so hype and brings me to tears at the same time: "ARMY singing together compilation" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LMI0CTCVIw&ab_channel=ThatsBangtan) ; "ARMY beautiful ocean for 5 minutes" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqH7nz1GnOE&ab_channel=ThatsBangtan) "Brazilian ARMY Fanchant Gives Everyone Goosebumps" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peN_LHvmawA&t=377s&ab_channel=HaruBangtan) , "BTS army loudest fanchant moments" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5yE4mvlfwo&t=31s&ab_channel=highwaytojaehyun) , there are many more though, just type in "BTS ARMY FANCHANTS" or "BTS ARMY ocean" and you will find so many videos. Anything you have ever known about "crowd participation" will not even remotely describe what ARMY does at BTS concerts. Mind you in some of these clips BTS isn't even on stage and ARMY does that at the beginning of concerts singing to music videos playing, or during the encore break. The connection BTS has with their fans is truly beautiful.

2022-03-07 04:16:23 +0000 UTCAlso, as many have mentioned above, Spring Day is the Queen!. It was released 5 years ago and has never left the charts since...crazy. The explanation video by Italian Army breaks down the music video beautifully. You will understand once you see it. The music video seems like their having a party and such.. little do you know ... spoiler alert lollll. but this song really got me into BTS. I had so much respect for them after learning about this. Using their platform to get important message across.

2022-03-07 04:13:14 +0000 UTCThank you Thank you THANK YOU for your amazing reaction yet again. and you said you love when BTS roasts their haters, you'll be delighted to know you still have part1,2,3 cyphers waiting. and yeah, 2!3! is actually the first official fan song. If you didn't know, there was an extremely rough time for BTS and ARMY. Recently, Suga said this "We had been through a hard time but ARMY...got hurt a lot too. We were supposed to shield all the repression, but ARMY were enduring it with us". It was really a rough time, facing attacks from MULTIPLE fandoms (because they were angry BTS won a grand prize award), many army's left the fandom because of how bad it got in the internet, BTS were constantly being thrown to the wolves left and right because they came from a small company with no power in the industry. So to me, 2!3! really is THE song in the album (while Spring day is the Queen). But 2!3! were BTS telling ARMY to forget all those bad memories and thanking us for being there with them. I listen to this song when I am sad and lost, because it reminds me of what we have gone through before, and looking at how successful they are now gives me hope and strength. :) oh, im getting emotional now

2022-03-07 03:46:22 +0000 UTCIt is true that the song itself was written by RM and Suga's personal lives. But even Jin has spoken up saying it was related to a sad incident. I think the song itself is a masterpiece but now it has turned into a such a symbol for the tragedy that even Pdogg and others resembles it with the tragedy. And the MV connects it to the tragedy so beautifully. I think Army just wants Michael to see how BTS is different from many artists because this song actually made me an ARMY. I just see you comment a lot about the Spring Day MV, just to clear the air.

2022-03-07 03:38:08 +0000 UTCI was never into rap music very much and would find it difficult to listen to. Suga’s First Love actually made me so emotional and and he became my favourite rap artist immediately. I never heard or connected to a song like that in rap, it was so raw and emotional, I knew it was something special. JK is my ultimate bias but Suga has a very special place in my heart and his skills amaze me. BTS really helped me get out of the mindset of how music had to follow a genre, you are what you are. They are whatever they want to be, and that is inspiring. I am sure someone has already told you about Spring Day being the Queen song for Army. There is a heartbreaking background to this song, and I really encourage you to watch an explanation video. There is one by an Italian Army that is lengthy but gives you more of the back story on the Seoul Ferry tragedy. I would recommend that, would love to see a reaction to it, but be prepared as it is difficult to watch. Also Blood, Sweat and Tears has a unique that will blow you mind and some really well done explanation videos. There are amazing Army’s out there that help break it down and are way smarter to understand how detailed BTS and their team really are in every aspect of their art. It has gotten to the point that now every snip it, photo, video, as an Army I am trying to analyze and see if there are any hidden meanings in their songs or spoilers, because typically there always are! Thanks for giving our boys a chance. It would be awesome if you would react to Xceleste videos that talk about BTS and their hardships to give even more of an understanding why Army is so passionate and connected to BTS. Love your videos, and how you breakdown the lyrics. You are a joy to watch.

2022-03-07 03:28:32 +0000 UTCThe story behind Spring Day broke my heart. The song that made me become an Army. The story is so heartbreaking everytime I think about it :( Spring Day is BTS's Queen song. If Michael has a chance to watch the Italian Army explaination video, it will make him cry hahahahaha. If you want emotional, it would be this video

2022-03-07 02:59:35 +0000 UTCokay so here wego with the actual comments - Wings in general was an album mostly about coming of age and temptation, about leaving your youth behind and facing the adult world, hence why Blood, Sweat and Tears and the solos touch on such deep and reflexive topics - Since you mentioned their names, here are all of them again lol It does take a while to remember, but you'll eventually learn it after getting used to it: RM - Namjoon Jin - Seokjin SUGA - Yoongi j-hope - Hoseok V - Taehyung Jimin and jungkook just go by their names - I know you searched it and got the basic meaning of it, but Hyung is an honorific that korean males use to call older males who they're close to. It is used for an older brother in a family but also any other close friends and it's used every single time they refer to that person, basically as a sign of respect since they're older, but also still casual - You mentioned RM getting hate and this is something that happened A LOT in the first years of the group, maybe more than any other member back then. He got criticized for some stupid stuff (like being 'ugly' and not having 'an idol face'), but also for some controversy involving racism and sexism. He was 19/20 back then and has since apologized multiple times and grown from it, and we can cleary see his change in the person he's become since then. So while it is hard to imagine him going through it today, especially seeing how respected he is everywhere, there was a time when things were very different. - Also super random but back in 2017 when they came to Brazil with the Wings tour when RM sang "I wish I could love myself" the crowd sang "we love you" back to him and the next day he changed the lyrics to "yes I do love myself" and I wasn't even there but that's just one of my favorite moments ever - I don't know if I will ever be able to listen to First Love without crying tbh and this is one of the things I appreciate the most about Suga: his ability and his willingness to be so open and vulnerable about so much. I've mentioned before how much you'd love his mixtapes and that's one of the reasons why - I knew you would love the Cyphers and honestly Part 4, for me, is their tamest one when it comes to bars and disses. They've grown and matured a lot since the 1st one, which also mean they were a lot angrier back then with all the criticism they used to get - Love how you decided to casually watch the most dense and context-heavy BTS music video in the middle of it lol. As many people have mentioned, the video is dedicated to a tragedy that happened in Korea and you should really watch the explanation video on it because it will give you an entire new meaning - We've gotten many fan songs from BTS in the past 9 years, but persoanally 2!3! and You Never Walk Alone (which isn't officially a fan song but is for me) are still my favorite. There's just something about them, a promise that having each other will always be enough that will always mean the most to me (that's why I got YNWL lyrics tattooed on my 1st anniversary as army) This was a long commentary as usual lol but I'm so happy you got through another era and you loved i as well. I'm personally a huge fan of BTS' older stuff because their style back then was a lot more my taste and I'm guessing you will love it as well, so I'm really excited for you to continue this journey

2022-03-07 02:54:21 +0000 UTCI actually paused the video as you are talking about Reflection to type this comment. I skimmed through the other comments to see if anyone covered this, but didn't see anyone go in-depth (forgive me if I'm repeating someone else). The Wings album with this song was released in Oct 2016. 2015 and 2016 were EXTREMELY difficult for RM (and BTS, but RM was the focal point for most of the hate. Other members have said in interviews that RM shoulders all the criticisms of the group but shares the praise. Suga actually compared RM to the roof of a house that covers and protects them.) RM received two death threats in 2015, the first of which was so serious that BTS ended a show early and police came to evacuated the fans. RM lost a lot of friends when BTS debuted because he had been very well known in the underground Indie rap scene, where he had started performing at only 13 years old. He had many friends in that circle that he learned rap from and 'grew up' with. When he debuted with and 'idol' group, many people he had been friendly with in the underground scene accused him of selling out. Just a few short months after their debut, when RM was 19 and Suga was 20, the two of them were invited to a radio forum of rappers. During this forum they were openly attacked and ridiculed - on air - for becoming idol rappers. The other members in the forum were all significantly older than them. Another issue that arose is that Korean hip hop in general has a huge issue with cultural appropriation - since they love and imitate hip hop culture without having any experience with its history, America's racial dynamics, etc. Like any other Korean hip hop artist, BTS was also culturally insensitive to some things when they started out. As BTS started to gain popularity in the US, the group got a lot of push back and RM shouldered a lot of the accusations of racism (let me be clear that no member of BTS EVER did anything racist, the worst things that happened were them not having any idea what might be considered offensive. For example, RM - who is the only member fluent in English - learned from watching the TV show 'Friends.' Despite never having spent time in the US, he is nearly accent-less because he learned by literally imitating a TV show, down to the slang and gestures. He also listened to a lot of American rap music, so he picked up the skill of being able to talk in 'black English', a skill he proudly showed in a Korean variety show. Yeah, as an American we know that's not a great look, but he was legitimately clueless. His English in general came from imitating what he heard in media. One of their very early songs begins with the phrase "West Side till I die". A HUGE difference about RM and BTS is exactly what you said in your video -- accountability. As RM learned, he apologized and corrected himself, over and over again. In an interview, the interviewer framed the "west side till I die" song opening as a "mistake" and RM actually corrected him saying, "It wasn't a mistake. It was wrong. I should not have done it." and explained exactly why it was wrong to use that phrase. Another issue that arose is that two of their early songs were labelled as misogynistic (yes, you read that right). "War of Hormones" and "Boy in Love". Two things to consider -- Korea actually HAS a ministry that checks media content for depicting unhealthy relationships/misogyny. Several of Block B's early tracks were banned for such content and had to be repeatedly re-written. None of BTS's songs were EVER flagged by this ministry. Second - just wait till you read the lyrics, they are completely tame. Completely tame. Like, if Ed Sheeran can have a song saying "Let's not talk so much, grab my waist and put that body on me...", BTS songs were maybe that level. Maybe. Again, RM shouldered the criticism and was called a misogynist. Again, unlike any other artist (literally, this was the first time a Korean label had done this), Big Hit responded to the accusations with a formal in-depth apology. RM began to run all his lyrics by women's study professors and began reading feminist literature himself. He shared how he had learned that he shouldn't depict women from a 'male's perspective', and also that he was learning that being 'genuine' wasn't enough -- that what he said and did, regardless of his own intentions, had the ability to hurt others or make them uncomfortable and that he needed to accept responsibility for that as it was always his intent to be a good influence. I wrote a book here, sorry! I just wanted to let you know that the RM (and BTS as a whole - trust me, I did not even touch on half the hate this group received in their early career) you know has been through a ton of really awful things. The fact that these 7 men have gone through what they have and used that to become kinder and kinder, that they have used it to gain wisdom, that they received hate and opened themselves up to new levels of vulnerability, is one of the most amazing things about them. I will always be in awe of RM's courage because of this. Okay! I need to go finish watching your review! I love your BTS reactions, thanks so much for all the thought and love and consideration you pour into discussing their lyrics and songs.

2022-03-07 01:13:10 +0000 UTCMICHAEL YOU JUST GET IT! 😭😭😭 I'm so glad I came across your channel. Ok there was a lot I wanted to comment throughout and I'm sure many armys are beating me up to it. You've commented on the leadership RM (Namjoon) portrays, the guys actually have specific roles within the group. RM is actually the leader, Jin: vocals and visual (they practically scout him out of the street because of his looks), Suga: Lead rapper, J-Hope: Main dancer, rapper and sub-vocalist, Jimin: Main dancer, and lead vocalist, V: Lead dancer, vocalist and visual, Jungkook: Main vocalist, lead dancer, sub-rapper. Also I just know the recommendations for the explanation video of Spring Day are going to be flowing so I'm just here to let you know that it's very tragic and quite heart-wrenching so please be aware beforehand (if you plan to watch them) that they can be quite triggering; but I would say it's a very important part to understand why the song has never left the charts thus being called The Queen.

2022-03-07 00:56:40 +0000 UTCI appreciate SO MUCH that with all the other music and media that you love, that you take the time to do these deep dives into BTS. I learn so much watching with you, because I'm realizing my journey has been so scattered and piecemeal, jumping from videos to dance practices to documentaries to Run BTS to concerts and back, that I've never taken the time to sit down and experience a whole album, music and lyrics, at once. I enjoy having the chance to sit down with you and let everything soak in! I started typing and then erased so much of the cheesiest, sappiest sentences ever--because I probably shouldn't comment immediately after a reaction. But, of course you can call yourself ARMY. I feel like the only criteria is seeing these 7 humans, hearing their music, and getting the loving, comforting, energizing messages they work so hard to put into the world. Most of my favorites are your favorites. Awake guts me every time. Wings and Not Today make me feel like I can do anything. The song that sticks with me a lot from your reaction is Reflection. I hadn't read all the lyrics before, and it's maybe the most relatable to how I feel about myself right now than any other on here. Your thoughtful commentary is always insightful and a joy to watch. Thank you again!!

2022-03-07 00:52:11 +0000 UTCAh I forgot! I also wanted to suggest you check out an explanation for the Spring Day music video which has such a deep, tragic meaning and would answer a lot of the questions you had regarding the laundry room, the pile of clothes, etc… There’s a very popular video on YouTube with more than 1 million of views but I find it to be very unclear in some parts. I would suggest you check this one out instead (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrT4a_Fw6pE&t=913s). It’s made by an Italian ARMY so the voiceover is in Italian but she also put English subs on everything so that everyone could understand. I also read through the video’s comment section and it’s full of Korean people saying this is the best video they have seen on Spring Day’s references to the tragedy. I highly recommend this one! P.s.: I also hope you’ll be able to check out AgustD’s album D-2 whenever you have time!! Have a wonderful end of weekend and week to come!!💜💜

2022-03-07 00:41:40 +0000 UTCOf course! The song is already so meaningful on it's own and I actually think checking it out like this first was a good thing! I don't think other fans are trying to overshadow it with the MV, I think they are just trying to show him both sides of what this release meant for BTS, for ARMY and for Korean people that lived through such a horrible tragedy. Of course the song is already so precious on it's own, it's just to show him another side of BTS's artistic choices, values and context of the MV 😊💜
SB
2022-03-07 00:38:10 +0000 UTCIt's not about their relationship. It's about their experiences with lost friendships. RM wrote it about his high school friends, which he was actually encouraged to reconnect with after writing this song, and Suga wrote it about the same person he wrote 'Dear My Friend' about, a person he used to do music with who went to jail.

2022-03-07 00:31:51 +0000 UTCThat is one of the first songs that really sent me on a deep dive of analyzing meanings(the video as well) just wanting to learn more. Don't feel bad!

2022-03-07 00:30:11 +0000 UTCALSO hello my bts soulmates agenda spring day is about sugas and rms relationship
el
2022-03-07 00:24:59 +0000 UTCFirst love is so very precious to me because suga is so passionate about music and the live performances get really emotional. I hope you look up begin on doolset, there's a little backstory on how the song was created. With Am I wrong bts encouraged people to question the world around them and the song was kinda indirect diss at the government. Fascinating stuff if you wanna read more i suggest a website called Muish’s ramblings. You're gonna learn more about crowtit/baebsae in the next albums. V loves the cyphers and bts have really missed the chance by not making a cypher pt v lol. Pt. 3 is my favorite. I don't know if you've planned how to do the next albums yet but if you haven't: Next up would be the youth trilogy: the most beautiful moment in life part 1 (9 songs) part 2 (9 songs) and Young forever, which is a compilation album with 3 new songs. There's a song on part 1 called ‘moving on’ and it's mine if you say negative stuff about it I will just cry. Also I would just watch you read doolset I'm not kidding I love people appreciating bts' lyrics so much. Much love and uhh I love performance/ concert reactions wink wink
el
2022-03-07 00:14:16 +0000 UTCAlso I get what you mean about beat drops in songs but keep in mind that choreo and other visual aspects have a big part in the songs so a lot of the times if there is a beat drop its accommodated with something truely special visually that you wont quite see just listening. But I thinkits really really cool how you wouldnt get that from the albums. You can still listen and not feel like it's all just dance music.
Booryanne
2022-03-06 23:39:45 +0000 UTCAs far as the MVs I personally think that they're kind of necissary for some of these songs. The genre BTS comes from is partly a visual medium, BTS are an anomaly with their lyricism (less so nowadays but you know what i mean) so i do hope that at the least, when you're done with the albums you will go back and check out MVs. But I know you run this channel how you want, so no hard feelings either way!
Booryanne
2022-03-06 23:37:13 +0000 UTCHow have your feelings changed/not changed twords Am I Wrong and 2! 3! Since doolset?

2022-03-06 23:34:35 +0000 UTCI hope he doesn’t see the song differently. The song was based on personal experiences with loss friendships and has an absolutely beautiful message with its original intent. I don’t understand why people try to overshadow that with what they decided to dedicate the MV to. Both are just as beautiful and important meanings as the other.

2022-03-06 23:21:13 +0000 UTCOk, I just finished watching thisand I loved it. And you know I would really love a video of you reacting to the doolset lyrics of this songs because I would love to see how you react when you find out some of the actual and hidden meanings behind these songs and also Spring Day Explained..... P.S. love your reaction. Its 5 a.m. in India and I have to go to job tomorrow but still couldn't wait and had to watch it now.

2022-03-06 23:20:20 +0000 UTCThe MV is what is related to the tragedy. The song itself is NOT and it is not a well-known theory outside of ARMY. It is popular in Korea because it is an amazing song that many people can relate to because everyone has gone through loss. Emphasizing too heavily on the music video’s purpose somewhat takes away from the song’s original purpose and idea.
Ophelia
2022-03-06 23:20:17 +0000 UTCPlease please please react to the Spring Day Music video explained. There are two that I think are essential and one is from the Italian army (trigger warning) and the other is from bulletproof vibes. You really don’t get the full effect of the song without BOTH. One explains the story and tragic incident and the other dives into the symbolism within the MV itself. There’s a reason this song has never left the charts since this album release. BTS really put their careers on the line with this song and MV

2022-03-06 23:17:25 +0000 UTCi love this album so much it means the world to me but the young forever/ the most beautiful moments in life era literally changed my life. also heads up that The Most Beautiful Moments In Life: Young Forever does not contain all the songs from The Most Beautiful Moments In Life pt. 1&2 the era is often referenced to as HYYH short for the korean title (Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa: )

2022-03-06 22:59:58 +0000 UTCI always have trouble when trying to pick favorites since they are very different and very good but in this, from the solos, Stigma, First Love, Lie and Reflection are the ones that hit me the most. From the whole group, spring day is the queen.

2022-03-06 22:57:35 +0000 UTCAwake just brings the tears to mye eyes so quick. Jin is the only member that didn't audition to get into the company. he was going to school for acting and he was scouted on the buss because he was hot basically. he didn't really have any experience in singing or dancing so he had to work really hard and he has grown so much but he still feels like he will never measure up to the other members (if kim seokjin doesn't feel like he's enough when will i ever) so he's basically like maybe i can never fly like the others but i will run and i will fight to stay on this path with you because you mean so much to me. It's devastating because yeah that's a very sweet sentiment but also: god damn it jin do you hear that song you just sang with that voice and u still don't think u can fly jfc.
julian kristiansen rundhaug
2022-03-06 22:57:22 +0000 UTCAlso, I'd recommend you see blood, sweat and tears MV and live performance (specially the Mama one with lie, boys meet evil and fire)

2022-03-06 22:55:49 +0000 UTCI just finished this video and I'm so damn happy about it. Just to go through some points: RM is BTS leader and he is also the one fluent in English. All of them can communicate and speak but not fluently so he is normally who talks the most in interviews abroad. This album contains a lot of the songs and MVs connected to the BU (bangtan universe) - BTS storyline. It is really good, intense and sad and I'd love to see your checking it one day.
Liuzetz
2022-03-06 22:54:19 +0000 UTCLoved the reaction! Just some thoughts as I watched it - I view the Wings album as a coming-of-age album, especially with the Demian references they make. If you like the MVs, Boy Meets Evil and Blood, Sweat and Tears are amazing. Jimin's Lie is 100% a musical masterpiece. You'll notice that the entire song is in minor (which is the suspenseful feel you're getting from it combined with the 3/4 tempo instead of your standard 4/4) until it hits the chorus "Caught in a lie", which switches to major (which is characteristically associate with a happier feel"), implying the lie he's caught in is this happy feeling when he actually feels minor. Lie talks about how he's caught between the public persona and how he feels inside. Also, for one of the MMA (I think) performances, there's a mix of Boy Meets Evil and Lie that I wish so badly was a song I could download. I love Suga's First Love. Full stop. He has a song on his mixtape called So Far Away ft Suran (which is a stellar, stellar song) that he does a remix of with Jungkook and Jin that references First Love, which is freaking amazing. Jin's Awake breaks my heart every time I hear it. You're completely right where he see the other members as flowers that can fly in the wind. And he's wide awake to the fact that he (at least he believes) can't fly like them. He gets overlooked a lot because there is so much talent in the group and it breaks my heart that he could ever think that he can't fly in his own right. But even amongst all that, instead of giving up and feeling despair over it, he wants to be with the other members so much that he'll struggle and fight to keep up, even though he feels that he can't fly with/like them. The crow-tit reference you keep seeing is in full display on a song they put out Baepsae (which is the Korean word for crow-tit). It's a song from one of their earlier albums The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt 2 (which they also referenced in one of JHope's lines). Last note, this was BTS Cypher Pt 4 where they've really calmed down because they had achieved so much and realize they don't have to prove anything anymore. Cyphers 1-3 are *ridiculous*.
Lauren
2022-03-06 22:50:42 +0000 UTCOn another note, I definitely think you can call yourself an ARMY, heh. So happy to get to see your journey discovering their music and everything that BTS is. They are so special and it's such a shame that many don't give them a chance simply because their songs are in a language they don't understand. Thank you for all your wonderful content, and for being so genuine :)

2022-03-06 22:45:33 +0000 UTCI was so excited for this reaction, and i must say, you never disappoint - Loved it! It's like experiencing them again for the first time through you, and I love how positive and open-minded you have been throughout. Looking forward to you to learning more about these ‘Crow-tits’ 😏 I can already see people recommending you the ‘Spring day music video explanation’ as would i. It has a beautiful message, but is also very sad, so just be mentally prepared for that if you choose to react to it ❤️ Appreciate the wonderful videos you have given us thus far, and always looking forward to seeing more.🥰

2022-03-06 22:44:12 +0000 UTCI know others will mention this, and probably explain it better, but I highly suggest watching "Spring Day MV explained". It gives a lot of context for everything seen in the music video, but also might get you to view the song differently. Spring Day is one of the most, if not the most, special song in their discography, and hasn't left the top 100 chart in Korea since its release 5 years ago.

2022-03-06 22:40:11 +0000 UTCYes! Sorry- thats what I meant!
Olanna
2022-03-06 22:28:22 +0000 UTCThe song was inspired by RM and Suga’s personal experiences with loss and friendships. The MV is what pays tribute to the national tragedy.
Ophelia
2022-03-06 22:26:27 +0000 UTCJust to let you, people will try to tell you that Spring Day is about a tragedy. The music video was dedicated to it, but the song itself was written about their personal experiences.

2022-03-06 22:19:12 +0000 UTCThe live performance of Jimin's Lie is amazing. You have to react to it.

2022-03-06 22:18:40 +0000 UTCPlease please please watch the break down of the Spring Day music video- your mind will be blown! Such a sad story behind the inspiration for the song and yet the boys pay tribute so well. <3

2022-03-06 22:16:18 +0000 UTCHi! I will left a complete commentary for the reaction later, but is a MUST to check out te meaning for SPRING DAY MV. It's about a tragedy in Korea (the pile of clothes for example). There're videos on YouTube that break down the scenes of the MV. Thanks for your reaction, It was amazing (Sorry for my english, not my first language)

2022-03-06 21:54:49 +0000 UTCRM is actually like the official official leader of the group so you would be correct when you said he gave off those vibes haha. It is actually ridiculous how much hate these guys get still to this day and I know that around when this was released and in their earlier days it was still extremely prominent unfortunately and we know that it had taken a big toll on their mental, (and physical health in some cases for some members) health. It's unbelievable right? like even literally today someone spotted a TRUCK in London with the hashtag 'stopbts' plastered over it with their faces on. just why. it trended on twitter but luckily ARMY turned it around and flooded the negative hashtag with hashtag stopbts from being amazing, handsome, talented etc lmao
hannah
2022-03-06 21:39:48 +0000 UTComg i just finished the entire reaction and i’m so glad you checked out some MVs. you NEED to watch a video breaking down the spring day MV. spring day is based off the sewol ferry tragedy and it’s a commentary on how the entire situation was handled by the south korean government and is also a memorial of the victims of it. it has references to different literature, films, and is literally a masterpiece. i would genuinely place my money on it being the best music video ever released. if you’re really interested in their music videos, bts has this whole storyline called the BU (BTS Universe) that’s added onto through nearly every album.

2022-03-06 21:28:56 +0000 UTCthey all speak quite good English but RM is the most fluent 100% so he is like their spokes person most the time lolol. We don't know too much but we know that Jungkook, Suga, and J-Hope are taking lessons rn. They have improved so much though and have become much more confident and it is amazing to see their progress cos we know how hard they work in order to speak with us in our languages (they are also really good at Japanese I think) even when they have no obligation to :(
hannah
2022-03-06 21:28:31 +0000 UTCWings is such an amazing album. I don't know if you'd ever be up for watching a full concert but the wings concert is so amazing. I don't know if it is because the songs are so personal to them but seeing them perform them live just brings another level to each of the songs, especially the solo songs. I also think because of their amazing vocals and lyrics it can be easy to forget that they are very much performance focused as well. There are some songs that I don't really enjoy listening to on a regular basis but the performances of those songs still make them very impactful (like Not Today).

2022-03-06 21:19:47 +0000 UTCI haven't finished the video yet, I'm just at Awake and started tearing up at the 6 flowers line like I have ever stopped thinking about it since I first heard it. Maybe you know or maybe you don't but Jin is the eldest of the group (internationally he's only older than Suga by 3 months) and cherishes them all SO MUCH so that's an extra kick in the teeth with that already heart wrenching but flawless song

2022-03-06 20:58:04 +0000 UTCYeah so the word 'hyung' is what Korean males refer to older men as, so Jungkook calls the members not just Namjoon or RM but 'Namjoon-hyung' or RM-hyung'. It's kind of like a sign of respect as well as showing that they are close with each other. Instead of saying e/o names with hyung at the end, they say 'Jimin-ie' 'Jimin-ah' or 'Taehyung-ie' or 'Taehyung-ah'. V and Jimin are the same age so they don't use the word 'hyung' when referring to each other. They are a pair of the 'same-age' members in the group and that basically means they can be casual with each other I guess and not use honourifics like 'hyung' , which is why I think they're so close.
hannah
2022-03-06 20:53:03 +0000 UTCI'm in the middle of the reaction now where you speak about wanting to sit down with RM and speak about music. I'd like to tell you, if someone hasn't already that RM has done a live stream on Vlive (these are free to view for everyone) where he discusses the making/behind/lyric writing process of each album usually a week after they release. Each are so interesting and lovely to watch I really recommend them! They have English subtitles available 💜

2022-03-06 20:49:18 +0000 UTCbegin is really THAT song isn't it, the members basically raised jk from 14+ and were parental figures for him as he was away from his family. They've said that they walked him to the bus stop, packed him lunches, woke him up in the morning etc for years. Jungkook said in one of their documents series that he though he was almost like a 'manifestation of all the members characters coming together' and I think that's so sweet
