Also Catelyn Stark is Hermione’s mother!

To have Tonks to just makes it even better. 🎶😎🎶

Kristina

I’m so glad you said something I guess I’m just used to her hair changing colors 😅

Michael Beveraggi

Oh wow Storm I hope you had a great time!!! Probably some really sick stuff to see there!!

Michael Beveraggi

Omg Tomasina if anyones gonna call for the bat in this show it’s definitely Joffrey 🥴

Michael Beveraggi

Completely had Aemon backwards, thanks Giu! & yeah after Ned I’m completely anticipating literally anyone dying it’s kinda scary

Michael Beveraggi

Some people are just meant for it!

Michael Beveraggi

Went back & rewatched that scene, thanks Adam!! Emphasizes that knights watch honor quite a bit

Michael Beveraggi

I love that kinda stuff lol watch it then replay it while you’re doing stuff! Plan to watch it this week for sure!

Michael Beveraggi

And he plays the baddies Soooooooooo Goooooood!!!

Kristina

David Bradley is such a wonderful actor. He's also in the first Captain America movie. He plays a lot of baddies!

Julie B

I think everyone else has really covered the explanations and stuff so I’ll just say YES!! You recognised Tonks correctly! I was surprised, knowing how much you love Harry Potter, that you didn’t recognise her the first time. But then I figured maybe it’s just me that is TOO into it…. Lol Really really glad you’re enjoying GOT as much as you are though!

Susan Deans

I’m in Belfast today seeing the Game of Thrones studio tour and I wish I could show you some pictures!! It’s so incredible how much went into making this show, I’m so glad you’re enjoying it. It just gets crazier from here!

Storm

in my opinion, i don't think any information they give is useless. i just think he's making himself more confused because he's either overthinking it or looking for things that aren't there.

Kayla

i don’t know, i find it interesting to know all that. ofc i was confused by the end of the first season but i think s2 is where you start to get used to things as names become more constant.

Also to help you understand a little bit more about the scene of Ned’s death. The area where they brought him was called the Sept of Baelor. He walks out and sees Arya by the statue. She’s standing on a statue of Baelor, who the space was named after. As they’re walking him to the stage he says to the man “Baelor” and that’s when the man looks to the statue of Baelor and sees Arya. If you think back to the earlier episodes, that man is from the Night’s Watch. He was sent to King’s Landing to recruit men for the Wall. He was the man who went into Ned’s office and told him that Cat had captured Tyrion in Episode 5 I believe. When he told Ned about Tyrion being captured, Arya was in the room. So he was able to recognize her as Ned’s daughter when she was on the statue. That’s why he took her and said “Remember me now boy”. He kept her from watching Ned’s death. I think that is such a powerful thing that Ned was able to somewhat save Arya in his last moments and I just need you to appreciate that lol.

I will say that there is a line that is said by the Lord Commander of the Knights watch with Jon when they are talking about when he came back after leaving. They are talking about honor being the thing that made him leave the wall and how it was the thing that also brought him back. The line that is after I feel is very important. The lord commander says, “But it wasn’t your honor” when talking to Jon about why he came back with the main reason being the other brothers of the knights watch who brought him back.

Adam Geiser

I feel like they give a lot of useless information to flush scenes out. If someone or something is important then they will make sure you know. For instance, you should just know that maester Ameon is a Targaryen. No need to confuse yourself with the exact family tree.

Ethan

If you have time, go back and watch the scene again when the Lord Commander gives his family sword to Jon Snow. Listen to what he is saying about his son and see if that sounds Iike anybody you know so far..

Katie Jandrain

I believe you seemed to mostly understand almost as much as you needed to this episode! I definitely know you probably feel confused, but I believe you are exactly where you need to be, knowledge-wise, hahahaha. You were correct about the witch’s riddle! “rises in the west and sets in the east, seas dry up (etc.)”, every line of the riddle is something impossible, meaning Drogo would never return to how he was before. You were also on track with Maester Aemon at the wall. He wasn’t a character we previously knew about, and it was a reveal that he is a Targaryen because they think that the Targaryen house will die if Daenerys dies because she is thought to be the last! Also to tell Jon that everyone is tested. Aemon was referencing Robert’s rebellion when the Mad King was overthrown and killed and the Targaryen children were also killed (hence: why Daenerys and her brother were the last, because they were the only ones who got away). Aemon was saying he found out about the overthrown and the murders when he was already old and at the wall, and he had to make the choice to stay as well, even though he wanted to leave during that time. And yes you were on track with the Maester at King’s Landing “acting” old. As far as I remember, that was simply the significance of that scene. We see that even this character is playing the game and putting on an act. Everyone is playing the game with their own motives and protection in mind! Love watching this again with you, as always!

Jenna

I'm just surprised you didn't pull out the bat for Joffrey as he's on some Nate level hate lol

Tomasina Hill

I genuinely can't remember because it's been so long since I've watched this, and I may be wrong, but I think Aemon of the Night's Watch said he renounced the throne, so I've inferred that he could have been king and chose not to be, so his brother was next in line. And it may be in your notes somewhere, but the (Capt?) Mormont who gave Jon Snow his family's sword is the father of Jorah Mormont who is with Khaleesi. Thank you for sharing these in time for weekend watching!

jennptx

I'm about to start the finale with you, but I just wanted to point out how I feel like Ned's death is such an important mark for this show because it really set the tone and showed the audience that you never really know what to expect Also, I'm not sure how much about Aemon would be considered a spoiler? But I also know someone else reads this before for you so if this explanation is too much I believe they won't let it reach you. But the point here is that he didn't break his vow at all. He's taken the black many decades before and when you do that you give up on your rights and your last name and everything you were before. So even when he heard that all his family was killed and even thought he had a right to the throne, he still didn't break his vows. That's why when Jon says 'you're Aemon Targaryen' he doesn't agree, instead he says 'I'm a maester of the Citadel, bound in service to Castle Black', because the moment he took the black he 'gave up' on being a Targaryen at all

Giu Bressani

I looked it up and David Bradley played both Argus Filch and Walder Frey.

Kristina

Yes you should definitely watch the histories and lore videos it helps alot and its so interesting

Embodiment Of Fear

The ending with the pyre isn't a ritual...it's merely a funeral pyre that Daenerys used as an opportunity to kill the witch and try to hatch the dragon eggs.

Kayla

Yes House of the Dragon is going to be a prequel, I am so hyped for it. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the history and lore series so I can’t say for certain if the Season 1 episode is spoiler free or not. I believe that they don’t have any spoilers but can someone else verify that? Excited to watch this week!

Adam Geiser

I definitely recommend watching the history and lore for each season after you finish the season. i think it'll help you better understand the world.

Kayla

Haven’t watched yet but I hear you! They feed you alotttt of information, this comment section has actually helped me a lot and this is my 3rd time watching! You’re doing amazing!!

Lucille

yes history and lore helps so much! it's also super interesting and sometimes i go back and watch it just to listen to while cleaning and stuff lol
