You should watch it! I mean, I bawled my eyes out, but because they’ve gone through so much pain, but they’re very adamant that they aren’t disbanding! And did you see jk’s live? Reiterating they aren’t disbanding and apparently still have stuff that’s already filmed coming out? And they said they’re starting Run bts the show back up and that’ll be going on throughout this time! And Joonie’s letter to the media was very protective of us and frustrated with the media how they’re portraying it. I do think that they’re probably doing this as well because of enlistment, but that’s only a year and a half. I think they’ll be making a bts album together again in 3 years/ish time. Don’t worry too much, they’ll still be in contact with us and each other during this time! During the dinner some of the members talk about things they’re working with each other on their solo projects too so there will be some sub unit stuff!

Guys, you can’t request that without some context. Here you go, surprise pain! 🤣 During it they are officially saying goodbye to the house they lived in together and announcing they’re going to pause on music as a group and doing solo work. It is extremely candid and emotional. I do think it is the perfect representation of who they are and who they’ve always been in regards to their thoughts and feelings on music, each other, and their ARMY. It’s a rough watch, but they’ll have you laughing as well, as is Bangtan fashion. If nothing else they’ll make you feel all the emotions, make you self reflective, and loved. I think it could be another ‘I get it now’ moment for you if you decide to watch.

Ayy I'm so happy you discovered Epik High! To be fair, I don't know that much about the group, but they have amazing lyrics which is right up your alley. Tablo (the first rapper on that song) especially is such an interesting artist and a public figure to me (knowing somewhat his story). I believe he has also written two books. He has a lot to say, a lot of stories to tell. Somebody most likely mentioned this already, but them and BTS are big fans of each other, especially BTS' rapline looks up to them a lot (they also gave them a shoutout in one of their songs which you're about to dive into on their album Dark & Wild!).

My first exposure to Tori Kelly was her appearance at an Andrea Bocelli concert. She was amazing! I had no idea who she was, but she sang duets in Italian and a couple solos, and I had to know who she was after that. Jungkook is a huge fan. When BTS met her backstage in the US (BBMAs, I believe) and she said she knew he covered Paper Hearts, he did this adorable thing he does when he's overwhelmed - covered his ears with his fists. If he ever got to sing with her, he would definitely have an out-of-body experience.

First, Sasha puts out relatable music pretty much 100% of the time. Got so excited with that reaction because she deserves more attention. Second, that The Vamps performance was back in 2016 but Wild Heart is their second single from their first project so yeah it’s a 2014 song, as for Volcano, that’s in-fact Tristan Evans rapping and here’s a little fact, with their Night & Day (Night Edition) they released extra tracks and there are two songs Tristan sings in, Come Grind With Me & All Around The World)

wouldn't really say it was around the same time, since he changed it after they released LY HER in 2017 and mono came out a little more than a year later, in October 2018. But he did mention that the choice had a lot to do with what name he wanted to be related to the music he wanted to put out in the future and we can clearly see how his style differs between the before and after!

For the unreleased Taylor songs you listened to, the first one is called I Heart ?. It was featured on Taylor’s Beautiful Eyes EP (which is why the video had the picture of Taylor with the words beautiful eyes on it). The EP came out in 2008, after self-titled but before Fearless. The tracks on the EP included Beautiful Eyes, Picture to Burn, an alternate version of Should’ve Said No, an acoustic version of Teardrops on my Guitar, I’m Only Me When I’m With You, and I Heart ?. The second song you listened to, I’d Lie, is an unreleased Taylor song and is not attached to any album of hers. It’s a popular song among OG swifties. I’m hoping Taylor will include it on the re-recorded version of self-titled. Taylor has a ton of unreleased songs. You should react to them if you have the time. Some of my faves are I’d Lie, Permanent Marker, Dark Blue Tennessee, Sweet Tea and God’s Graces, Your Anything, Your Face, and What to Wear.

His vocals are so different from his rapping voice, I love it. It was my first time hearing Joshua Bassett and Billy Lockett. Apple Music only had the video of LA, but I did download Covered In Chaos. I have to listen to your Taylor Swift album reviews because I've really not given her much listen. I love Kellyoke! I don't watch her shows but I do watch that segment on YouTube. I love her cover of Jollene and The Smiths' How Soon is Now. I see that she has a new EP out, so I have to check that out also. As much as I love BTS, that's about all the Kpop I listen to. But Habit was beautiful. I'll have to ask my daughter for some Seventeen suggestions. I was surprised the last encore performance of "Between Us" was not captured in the live stream (it seemed to be impromptu but Little Mix has had multiple encore performances before). Although Jade's voice broke at the beginning, she rallied back at the end and this song kept building so it ended strong and with so much fan support and energy. I am glad that you were able to see this performance as well from a fancam (I didn't capture this on camera). I hope that a full tour video will come out sometime, will buy that in a snap.

Oh, one more thing about mono, Seoul (which is like the New York of Korea, if you didn’t know), Moonchild, and Forever Rain all have mvs. I wouldn’t say they’re necessary, but go with the mood well. They’re more visualizers than mvs and have subtitles.

Yes! And Suga/Yoongi got to work with them when he produced their song ‘Eternal Sunshine’! They put different vocalists on their songs often, especially female voices. Tablo (one of the members of epik high) told a story about a time he called suga/Yoongi to ask who (specifically a female vocalist) he thought they should get for one of their songs and suga/Yoongi was with the rest of BTS and rm/Namjoon called ‘Is there any female vocalist left that Epik High hasn’t worked with?' 🤣 They’re music is really wonderful! Tablo has a crazy story about being canceled to the extreme in Korea, thankfully he has gotten past it but it was very dark for a while for him.

I am so glad you loved Ben’s song! I think the thing that I reflect on the most with that song is along the lines you were talking about. Our childhood friends meet us and we don’t have the baggage we have as adults. We don’t have the part of us (for the most part) that holds us back and has walls put up because we haven’t been burned. We’re still naive and there is something special about the friendships that are made when you’re all pretty much on equal footing, just having a good time. Also, I’m glad you were able to take some time and take care of you.

I’m glad you liked it! But I think it’ll hold even more weight when you do it all together. It’s a very short mixtape (though he says it’s a ‘playlist’ instead of a mixtape, I think because all the songs go into each other) with just 7 tracks and about 25 minutes long. You were, as usual, breaking it down so well though. What a treat! Oh! If someone else hasn’t said around this time RM switched from going by Rap Monster to RM and said it means Real Me.

Thanks always for the kindness that radiates off of you!!! Music has been my thing since from as far as I can remember from lullabies my mom used to sing to me to the 80's 90's rap my dad used to blast throughout the house. My sister started singing country music when she was in high school and I would just look at her in awe. I love every genre from hard rock to techno. But when I hit high school myself I kinda of strayed from the main stream of music and started finding these really cool artists that no one has seem to have heard of. And the one thing most of these artist have that main stream normally doesn't for me is the raw emotion, the cut you deep in the feels sound. They normally start out bare, maybe a piano, or a guitar and just their voice telling a story. And I love that... these hidden gems in the music industry has inspired me and gave me my career as a romance author. Everytime I hear some one like Billy lockett, or Elina it just makes me want to be a better writer to be able to capture that emotion that they do everytime they open their mouths to sing.

To contextualize RM’s lyrics about recieving B’s in life: 1) it helps too understand the how much focus and expectations are placed on students in Korea. It has the highest rate of student suicide in the world and its education system is extremely strenuous which is something BTS wrote about a lot in their early days. This morning we get this song. same melody, and the words are a bit different but still the same message. So this song is written by armys and jungkook.

RM is constantly self reflecting and asking himself questions in his music. That's one of the most prominent throughlines in his songs and lyrics, even during debut eras. He is always asking himself if he is being authentic, if hes working hard enough, should he even worry about these things? As a lyricist he really talks himself in circles and sometimes be lands on a great conclusion and sometimes the questions get left unanswered. But it's all so real for him. And that feeling that makes you feel like you can listen to this song for hours proceeds throughout mono. It all feels like one peice, and is super necissary to listen to the whole mixtape in order (which I know you plan to do.)

"I Heart ?" actually isnt unreleased. It was released in 2008 as a limited edition walmart EP with "Beautiful Eyes" and different versions from 5 songs from her debut album. Was never officially put on streaming. And she is saying "I got an I heart question mark on the back of my hand". Her label made her put out a lof of stuff back then. She also released a pretty bad (her "Last Christmas" version isnt that bad) christmas EP in 2007 (which is on Spotify) I'd Lie is unreleased (though it could absolutely make the Taylor's versions of debut) and there are actually quite a few unreleased tracks on Youtube from her. All from debut or Fearless era.

hey, for an opinion on whether or not to post a reaction to jesy's first solo song (boyz) my take would be that if you are considering continuing to follow her solo career but want to avoid fandom messiness then i'd wait until the album drops and there's a more substantial volume of music to listen to and form opinion on. for boyz, as far as the lyrics, vocals and visuals are concerned i think you'd really struggle to find much to comment on aside from the various controversies... so if you're not wanting to do a video that goes into the drama that surrounded the release then it's probably better to leave it alone and focus on the huge amount of other little mix content that you haven't reacted to yet.

Thank you for checking out Rainbow Kitten Surprise! realized now that I should have given some disclaimers lmao. I think the video is just a visualizer? cuz I also have no clue what it means lol I tried to pick a non music video cuz the songs are a lot to take in but I was NOT remembering this video right 😂 The song though, as I see it, is a critique of American Christianity and calling out the hypocrisy of forcing harmful belief onto others, calling it righteousness, while also pretending everything is fine because they are saved in faith. This song repeats variants of "They call for holy war in Dallas" but then ends with "They call for holy war on us" calling out the feeling that they are made the enemy for existing. The band has a few queer members and rebellion against society and religion are a theme through a lot of their music. So yeah, sorry, that's quite a lot. The band is very unique and deep but a little chaotic. I'll definitely recommend more of their music cuz they've got a lot of good stuff. Next time I'll request with a little more context too lol.

Epik High is a 3 member R&B and hip-hop group. The chorus was sung by Hyuk-oh, or Oh-Hyuk, lead singer of Hyukoh. Hyukoh is a 4 member indie rock group and they are worth a listen. They have such a unique sound, which you got a bit of taste from this feature in Epik High song. As a bonus fact, Home is Far Away's Korean title is 'Empty Car' as in an empty car of a train. It alludes to commuting back home from a long day when everyone has already gone home, and a time to get lost in your thoughts.

Kelly!!! Is one of the best vocalists from the past 20 years, hands down. I haven't listened to her most recent albums, but I think they don't pick stand-out singles for her which is probably why. But she can do ANYTHING. She's fantastic. I think my favourite part of that last Between Us encore was that you could see the dancers singing along and getting really worked up. I watched a fancam from someone who was right up front and you could see that everyone was crying. Just brutal. But I'm so excited to see what each of the girls do next! Coinnnnn. I love how they always manage to switch up their sound. This song is so soothing. Thanks Storm for always coming through!

Taylor Swift released the Beautiful Eyes EP between her debut album and Fearless. "I Heart ?" was on that EP, which was only available at Wal-Mart. You can occasionally still find this CD on Ebay or in a record shop. It definitely sounds like "Picture to Burn!" "I'd Lie" is a truly unreleased song. Swifties want it on Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) so badly!

Yeah Tove Lo is certainly unique. I really wasnt sure what song to send you from her. "Disco Tits" didnt quite feel appropriate, although it is a song and video that explains very well who she is as an artist. You probably have heard Tove Lo's music before. I think her 1st big hit in the US was called "Habits (Stay High)". You should watch the MV for it. Her style is unique and a bit provocative, in a weird but good way.

Epik High is amazing. I saw them in concert for the second time in March. BTS are huge fans of them and their song "Fly" is what inspired Suga to start rapping.
