That's a wonderful idea!

Chuck

Since you reacted to the GOT musical, I think you should check out the song Power is Power that SZA, the Weeknd and Travis Scott did as a game of thrones inspired track. I think you’ll love it

Anastasia Kulikova

I tried in a different browser and can confirm it is now working.

Dani May

it lets me ff and rw with the “10sec” button on the mobile app, so maybe its something to do with your browser?? idk

cass

Older Rhaenyra looks almost identical to her mother so I think they did great with the casting.

Kayla

Out of context that comment sounds so wild 😂!

Ersin Günay

omg 😳 good idea, thank you! hahaaaa

Storm

Michael: "When even smiles are scary" 😂😂 PS. Another Aussie actor role was Ser Harwin Strong played by Ryan Corr.

Kylie aka BallisticGal

Don’t know if you noticed (cause I definitely didn’t on my first watch); in episode 6 when Aemond is telling Alicent about the pig incident and Alicent says something like “you’ll get a dragon one day”. The daughter, Helaena, says “He’ll have to close an eye.” Then in episode 7.. y’know...

cass

I feel a strong urge to clarify that “the blacks” are Rhaenyra/daemons side, like how “the greens” are alicent/ottos side! just don’t want him getting the wrong idea lmao

Kerry

This is a weird side note, but the last few weeks I think maybe since you switched over videos. I am no longer able to FF or RW 15 seconds while in full screen. I used to be able to with the little "15sec" button or simply with my direction keys but it doesn't let me do either anymore.

Dani May

I love how this show keeps on building and getting better after each episode!!

That Laenor twist at the end of ep 7 shocked me on first watch. Glad he gets to sail away with his lover. Will he pull a Gendry and return? 🚣🤣 I actually don’t know cause I haven’t read the Fire & Blood book yet after hearing that there was a show booked about it. But from what I’ve heard this entire first season is just one chapter of the book. I think of it as just one massive prologue before we get into the “Dance of the Dragons” as its called. I loved the younger actresses (especially Rhaenyra), but these older one’s absolutely crushed it.

Adam Geiser

Also the guy actually in the fire was the guard Daemon killed on the stairs! He was a similar skin tone and build to Laenor. So the blacks are not totally innocent there, but I’m so glad Rhaenyra didn’t kill Laenor 🙏🏼

Storm

I know a lot is left unsaid because of the 10 year jump but from what I gathered Rhaenyra and Harwin had a deep love, admiration and true respect for each. She also risked a lot having 3 children with him knowing that they resembled nothing to Leanor. He was by her side in raising the kids as well and had a very strong bond with Jace and Luce. I think the no emotions had to do with the kids being around and all eyes being on them at the moment.

Ser Criston “B**** A**” Cole has now entered the chat, lol I love that Aegon in these episodes is played by Ty Tennant, son of David Tennant (Barry Crouch jr in HP). Since David Tennant and Matt Smith have both played Doctors in Doctor Who, Ty is both the son and “nephew” of a Doctor #FandomsCollide

okay last comment i swear but season one is more of a setup to the real story, after the 8 yr just from ep 7 to ep 8 all of the actors will stay the same (except for the babies probably) and the rest of the show after ep 8 will be a continuous time frame, like GoT, the showrunners put that into stone. just wanted to clarify!

Kerry

i'm so happy you picked up on the ending of ep 7! i remember twitter had a hayday with that, so many ppl thought rhaenyra and daemon wanted him dead but qarl was the one who spared him, but it was definitely rhaenyra and daemon who spared him.

Kerry

Pausing to say I’m pretty sure Rhaenyra and Harwin did have feelings for each other aside from the duty of having kids. I know you said you didn’t really feel it when they were talking, but it was all subtext because they can’t outwardly show or say how they feel about each other or risk death for everyone. I feel like her hesitation to even look at him came from a place of pain, not indifference. Anyways, onto the rest of the episodes!

Storm

i definitely recommend the books! there's the five novels that the og show are based on and then a couple extras, hotd is based on fire and blood so if u plan on reading that book definitely stop once the season 1 storyline ends!

Kerry

Olivia Cooke is the one who plays Alicent. She ate her role up during the confrontation scene in ep7! Rhaenyra is played by Emma D'arcy, little fact about them is that they identify as non-binary and use they/them pronouns. The casting of Rhaenyra is really interesting because imo Emma looks way more like Aemma than younger Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock), It's almost like Rhaenyra became more like her mother after she had kids. Sephiroth/Daemon is as enigmatic as ever, you never know what goes inside his head. Paddy as Viserys is brilliant as ever. The casting directors of this show deserve a raise period! Even the kid actors especially Aemond's actor gave great performances.

Ersin Günay

I always find it so sad how Rhaenyra‘s boys are really going through it in episode 7. They lost their biological father but are not allowed to mourn while everyone around them is mourning Laena. Everyone, e.g. Rhaenys, is completely ignoring them at the funeral. Then when they help their cousins to find out who claimed Vhagar they get called bastards, wind up in a brutal fight with Luke taking Aemond‘s eye to defend his brother. That being followed by the Queen wanting to carve his eye out. And to top it all off they lose their father Laenor as well and have to watch their mother immediately marry another man….

Lisaaa33

omgosh im so happy I know this I didn’t even know what a stone Mason was until now but that makes sense and the connection is so clever!

Michael Beveraggi

It really helps with the watching experience so thank you Hedda! You’re absolutely right about the watcher vigilance!

Michael Beveraggi

That stonemason Eddard is such a cool easter egg and callback/foreshadow to Arya lying to Tywin about her father being a stonemason in season 2. The writers on this show are on another level!

Ersin Günay

hey Mike! Just wanted to give you major credit for listening to the comments and going back and watching as well as consuming additional HOTD content. Definitely is one of those shows where you need to be quite vigilant as a watcher, which is understandably harder when you're reacting to it with an audience. I watched by myself and still rewatched the episodes a few days after they came out and listened to podcasts. Hope it helped you!
