please watch the new little mermaid liveaction! its has lin manuel miranda for some of the music (i think atleast for the new songs that arent in the original animation) its genuinly so beautiful, imo better than the animation. its sad it got so much hate simply because people were mad at halle baileys casting (she is fantastic, she is just the definition of a disney princess, her voice will blow you away) also it has Daveed Diggs (hamilton) as Sebastian, and he sings too. and melissa mccarthey as ursula which she surprisingly really nailed that role, i wasnt sure at first if she could bring that character to life, but she pleasently surprised me

2023-02-24 18:49:29 +0000 UTCthere's a documentary on disney+ about the making of this movie, inspiration, the music, how Lin was working on hamilton between off broadway and broadway while working on the songs on moana and they even explained how they got inspo for the movement of water and the hair and yes, tattoos...its so good <3 also, lin was robbed on his egot when he didn't won his oscar for best original song; as much as i love la la land, moana's music is so meaninful and special...and then lin got robbed again when he didn't won for encanto... you should react to their oscar performance and see auli'i sing live <3

LOL Anyways, I think this is my 2nd time watching. The first was for my own channel. I always meant to watch this when it first came out but it never happened. I knew the song "How Far I'll Go" due to the popularity of it and of the performance at the Oscars (definitely check it out). Such a beautiful movie. Lin-Manuel Miranda knows what he's doing. I hope you check out Encanto!! That's another great one. And you haven't seen Lilo & Stitch?! What????? I will need a reaction of that, pleaseeeeee. Great reaction as always. Keep them coming 😊

I never really rewatch it all the way through much, but i do love it. I put it above Frozen but below Tangled in terms of recent movies.

Moana is probably my favorite disney princess along with Anna(you gotta watch FROZEN II!)Some awesome news to know: Moana released in 2016 and last year it was the 4th most watched movie on streaming! AND Disney has announced they're developing a MOANA SERIES on Disney Plus! I can't wait for it!

2023-02-20 04:52:47 +0000 UTCsuch a beautiful movie! one thing i heavily appreciate about this movie is it is such a powerful story about strong, divine feminine energy that involves absolutely no love interest for moana or te fiti. it's not about finding a "prince", it's about the self and family. i love romance in disney films, princess and the frog being a major example, but something about the exclusion of it in this film, and picturing young girls watching it, is deeply satisfying.

I'm from Mexico and they bring animated movies only dubbed, and when I rented it afterwards it was only available in Spanish too. And then I just didn't rewatch it. I love the story and even though the songs are good in Spanish, there were many parts that didn't work for the translation (in my opinion) so I'm so glad now I got to watch it along with you!

2023-02-20 03:31:45 +0000 UTCI love the portrayal of Moana not being your stereotypical disney princess. this story is about Moana, through and through, she is the hero. there is no man to save the day or a prince charming. Maui is a perfect representation of a male character who is there to uplift Moana, not overshadow her. Moana is, in my opinion, the best disney princess. She is so inspiring to young girls and those of polynesian culture who are finally able to see their culture and their stories represented appropriately in such a big way. One of the best disney films!!
