2023-09-20 15:40:01 +0000 UTCS2 gets ragged on a bit because it was so short after waiting so long for it, and it's a big worldbuilding/character development season, but it is DEF necessary for the upcoming story. And wow, I forget how beautiful it was! So glad you're getting so much enjoyment out of it and are invested, despite some of our hangups with the VAs. AOT is a show with alot of important script that is completely "normal", but that becomes huge with context later, so it's good to watch in English first if it'll help you follow along easier. In fact there's a huge word in this episode that alot of people don't catch being odd, and I didn't it myself until many rewatches later. Can't wait for you to dive deeper, and the finale of S2 will be epic!

2023-09-01 08:36:41 +0000 UTCIt's def the dub, it's part of the reason I originally didn't wanna follow along with this watch through but I love this story too much and am so excited for Beveraggi getting to experience it. That overacting thing that dub VAs do is so weird, I think it's an attempt to sort of recreate the bombast of the Japanese VAs but I don't think it translates v well between languages at all. Still, most of the cast is pretty solid in comparison to other dubs, Levi and Erwin in particular! Christa/Historia, Eren and Armin are just like, particularly annoying sadly :((

2023-08-24 17:47:43 +0000 UTCi've never rewatched s2 (and let alone in dub) just bc it's my least fav season so i don't remember anything really besides the main plot points, and i didn't realize how unintentionally funny eren was lmfaoo i was dying at his responses to ymir/reiner. but wow i looove all the nuances and how this has been setting up for future plots. cannot wait until you find out more

2023-08-24 03:14:34 +0000 UTCI don't know if it's just me or if Eren is louder in the dub version compared to the original Japanese, I feel like he's always shouting 😂 I wish we saw the fight between Mikasa and Annie in the flashback(can't really remember if we see it later) Missing Levi hours open.
