I remember the first time watching I also started out hating Nathan and then there was that switch midway through season 1 where I just sat there and thought. “Omg I love Nathan now!” And I feel like most people have that definitive moment. I love his character development and arc.

2023-08-28 00:56:00 +0000 UTCFor me, with all the teen pregnancy and teen marriage along with the sex being framed like a bad thing, the porn stuff just came off as so puritan that I could barely take it seriously. The show does give conservative Christian vibes with the judgemental talk around some of these issues. Getting married basically so you can have sex rather than waiting for marriage like you intend to seems so…. I don’t know. Doesn’t that defeat the point? I’m not having sex till marriage so let’s get married now! It’s not actually changing anything. Married at 16?! I’m sorry I cannot get over it. Good for them though lol!! I know people love Naley. Also good for Keith!!! Your reaction nearly made me spit out my tea!!

I also adore that everyones reaction to naley's marriage is first shock because wtf, immediately followed by excitement/happiness/acceptance for them. Even though, they are so young it just makes sense for them knowing the type of relationship they're in and their development all season that the viewers look past their age to how much they actually love each other and are sure instead. Normally, if other shows decided to do that with their very young characters I would see it as a recipe for disaster but because its naley, were all just like... makes sense 😂

Your reactions to season 1 was the highlight of the last few months and can't wait for the rest of the show. It's so nice to see that you are enjoying the show! Something I and other OTH fans knew would happen. I mean ... It's One Tree Hill. How can you not love it? There is so much more to go and so much more drama & messiness that I can't wait to see your reactions to. And omg your reaction to Dan is high tier quality and majority of everyone's reactions. Paul Johansson is so so so good at the character. I can't picture anyone else. Every time he makes a cameo in another show, especially in a crime drama—I'm always like "He's Dan Scott ... of course he did it!" I could say so much more but as usual, will head to Discord and discuss with my fellow OTH fans. Can't wait for Season 2!!!!

The one I just don't see myself changing my mind on is Dan, that man is too much of a douchebag to be redeemable. I'm living for your reaction to Keith and Nathan's mom (forgot her name) sleeping together, because same, I was SHOOK. Excited to see what the next season has for us and the probable new characters (?) Also, the soundtrack of this show is soooo nostalgic, so emblematic of its time, I'm here for it.
