I've not finished this yet but I'm loving it. So much Kitchen Confidential vibes, not my favorite Anthony Bourdain book (my fav is medium raw) but still so good.

2024-08-03 02:02:30 +0000 UTCI’ve only ever worked in the restraunt/food service industry as well. I currently waitress and work a little in the kitchen and this show is so accurate to the stress and pressure of this industry. A little triggering at some points, but it’s sooo good.

2024-06-01 04:14:28 +0000 UTCi feel you with you being triggered. when i was watching this as s1 was airing i hadn't been away from a really awful food job for long. so it was hard to watch at times. that being said this is one of my favorite shows at the moment and im so excited for you to start this. yes michael is carmy's brother and richie was michael's best friend growing up. richie and michael were so close that he is considered part of the family. i think part of richie's character is definitely some jealousy. i also think a lot of it has to do with a lot of stuff is out of his control and not going his way right now and so the restaurant was the one place he had control of and now he's losing that too. so glad you like richie this early on because i know for much of the fandom he took awhile to grow on us so that's exciting! and yeah ebon is such a talented actor!! and yes the actor who plays fak is a chef in real life but in the show he's the maintenance guy. he was originally hired on as a consultant for the show about the chef life but got hired on as a character for the show later on. the beef is in fact a real place it's called mr. beef located in chicago and was the inspiration for some of the show and most of the pilot is actually filmed there! anyways sorry for writing your ear off can't wait for more reactions!
