I think the "I lied" thing in L'amour is just that in hindsight she realizes that person wasn't the love of her life - she meant it when she said it, but she realizes *now" that it wasn't true.

The first part being "true blue" which was supposed to come out in wwafawdwg and then the second part being "born blue" which was supposed to come out in hte. Billie and Finnie both reworked both songs to create the masterpiece that is Blue making it that much more beautiful!

2024-05-19 19:28:33 +0000 UTCI think this is my favorite album of 2024 so far, it just feels so special on every track. I have to talk about my favorite track chihiro though. As a big fan of spirited away, from the production to the lyrics pulling in imagery from the movie while also tying into the message of yearning for another person and struggling with self identity (and sexuality) this song is just so beautiful to me. (Kind of spoilerly to the people who haven't seen the movie yet) We saw chihiro go through the struggles of remembering her name and her parents while also yearning for a connection with haku, who is someone who helped her and also is someone who she knows from the past but can't quite place how and why. And it feels like she really played on that concept and added fun imagery from the movie as well to really tie it all around back to herself.

According to Billie, the experimentation, track lengths, and not doing singles was all a result of them deciding to make the album they would make if the two of them were the only ones who would ever hear it. So glad they went that route, and I hope other pop artists (who can afford to) follow suit! Btw, the string outro on “SKINNY” is playing the ending melody of “THE GREATEST”, the synth outro on “BITTERSUITE” is playing the beginning melody of “BLUE”, and the “BLUE” outro has vocals from “L’AMOUR DE MA VIE” in the background. 😊
