Episode 7 was so insane but real! I love this show, looking forward to your reactions to season 2!

That super stressful episode was also an incredible one-shot, really adds to the tension! Can’t wait for season 2!

I cannot wait for you to watch S2, I think it has everything you want out of the show, character development wise, learning more about their family, etc.. I love S1 but I think S2 is better

Okay so quick explanation - the cans had “KBL” stamped on them, and earlier in the episode Carmy found notes showing that Michael was making payments to “KBL” that totaled the amount he borrowed from Cicero. So basically, Michael put the money he borrowed in those cans. And he got the restaurant name from the “name and vibe” he had talked about with Michael for their own restaurant before Michael started to cut him out

yes! the monologue in the finale is one of the best scenes in television and some of jeremy allen white's best work imho. granted ive yet to see iron claw bc i don't want to cry and i know i will lol but still. as of right now the way i interpret michael banning carmy from the restaurant was at first it was about not wanting his brother to be trapped in the family business and be stuck. then when carmy wanted to come back after going around the world and becoming a chef i again think it was about not wanting him to be stuck but also at that point the restaurant was doing horribly and he didn't want his brother to see him failing. the money in the sauce cans was the loaned money from their uncle! if you remember their uncle said he loaned him $330,000 which was equal to what we saw michael had written on that paper of what was going to kbl. the company that made the cans. so now they have the loan money minus whatever carmy threw away from refusing to do the spaghetti in episode one. and that's the funny thing too. if carmy had processed his grief and been more open to things in the first place he wouldn't have thrown away that can. he would have found the money, and the restaurant would have been fixed faster. but then he wouldn't have built up the relationships he has with everyone in the restaurant like he has and we wouldn't have the same show. grief is such a hard thing to process and it's such a rollercoaster of emotions and i love that it's a constant theme in this show. like for example carmy admits that he's fixing the restaurant because in a way it's like he's fixing his brother. but then you see richie having these moments of not wanting the restaurant to change from this delicate ecosystem and having flashbacks of michael. then he admits in the finale giving that letter to carmy meant he was really gone. for richie fixing and changing the restaurant is taking away the last things he had of michael and having to admit he's gone. richie and carmy fight constantly and often don't agree but undeniably they are family and they loved michael and are just facing their grief in different ways. sorry once again for another essay but i love this show so much and can't wait for you to get into season 2!
