How To Train Your Dragon 2

Comments

I love your reactions to my favourite shows (mainly Heartstopper and HTTYD) and intend to make my way thru your catalogue. If you love HTTYD especially the first film, you must watch The Wild Robot - made by the same team including director Chris Sanders. For me, it ties with HTTYD as my fave animated movie of all time.

I really loved the first movie, but didn't continue on when the others came out. I was really missing out, though when it was at the low point I was really wishing in my bubble from the ending of the first movie. Haha. The emotion of Toothless and Hiccup being separated made me feel physically sick there for a minute. I'm going to try really hard to wait to watch the next one with you, but I might break.

chimelle6

it's a must must must to finish the trilogy!!

pleaseee react to the third movie 🫣 it’s so worth it and easily one of the best trilogies. i remember sobbing in the theaters when i saw it for the first time

Alyssa Raybourn

Im weeping at work.

LaQuoya Tyler

Subbed specifically for this movie! Can't wait for the third!

Hiccup made that helmet himself after the 1st movie, it's not his mom's breastplate. That was the viking helmet his dad gave him in the 1st movie. They're completely unrelated. His helmet floating was only there as a plot device so his father could find it and have his dragon track down toothless and hiccup

Also I highly recommend watching the TV show Race to the Edge. It's on Netflix and it takes place between the 1st and 2nd movie. It goes into a lot of the dragon lore, explores different dragon species and explains a lot of things you see in the 2nd and 3rd movies. It also has a great plot. It's VERY good, and tbh not enough reactors ever give it a chance. Which is a shame, especially since the HTTYD Fandom loves the series.

I was the one who sent the video with Toothless and Kit, but the absolutely hilarious thing is, I had no idea Kit was in the movie lmaoo. This is my first time watching the series in English and for some reason this little fact flew over my head when watching it dubbed haha. But I promise, it's spoiler free! It's just a silly short clip, I also thought it's just a cool GOT & HTTYD crossover. To be fair I don't remember the last movie that much, I think I only saw it once or twice, but I remember it's good, definitely worth watching to wrap up the whole series nicely. I also remember a few very funny scenes from it, the whole cinema was laughing their bums off. One of the reasons I love this series so much is definitely the visual aspect of it. All the movies are so visually pleasing, the colors, action scenes, dramatic shots - like when the white alpha dragon rises in front of Hiccup or when they're in the cave and all the dragons lit their mouths or the inside of the nest where the ice illuminates the space, how all the dragons are so different and colorful and have different abilities, you can really tell they worked so hard on the whole fictional universe. As a graphic designer and a lover of "aesthetically pleasing things", these movies are a treat.

Michel

please react to the third one :’)

Andrea Kwong

Thanks for the shout to the cat people, as a lady who watched this whole reaction with a cat in her lap lol. Agreed with everyone above in watching the third. It has the same qualities as this one where it can stand on its own but is also so satisfying as a sequel

Captain America dressed as the Statue of Liberty 🤣🤣 I laughed when you referenced GOT when you heard the name Drago, knowing Kit was the voice of Eret. You should definitely watch the Kit GOT/Toothless video. It's cute. The first time I saw this, I cried so hard 😭 Can't wait till you watch the 3rd one. It's so good 🤍

Jenny D

I remember watching this at the movies and like you not expecting the father to die , but man did I cry , and I cried again today 😅 and please watch the 3rd one as well🙏🏼

Bangtan is life

Oh this is such a good movie, very heartwarming and heartbreaking. The third one is for me, a perfect ending to this trilogy so I'll join the rest of the team here to advise you should definitely watch it.

Liuzetz

i dont remember this movie being so sad😭😭

Alecea Wells

If you have time can you please start Jungkook and Jimins Travel Show “Are You Sure?” It’s soooo cute!!

Sunshine

Please do check out 3, it's a wonderful round off to the trilogy and gives a proper feeling of completion and closure for the characters

Okay, that was an awesome sequel! Did not remember anything about it as I started watching, started remembering some things as the film went on, but MAN, Stoick’s death still hits hard. But as you said, not as hard as Hiccup getting mad at Toothless afterwards. That was SO sad to watch, though can you really blame him? Poor guy must have been in complete shock. I totally understand why he got mad at Toothless, but as you said, it wasn’t his fault, just like in real pets. While they can definitely be mischievous, they seldom purposefully do harm unless you’ve treated and/or trained them poorly, in which case you deserve it, lmao. However, despite this, as a person whose family has owned multiple cats, I can confirm that cats would indeed threaten to drop their owners off a cliff if given the chance. We still love them, though, so thanks for the shout-out to cat owners! Cute, little, adorable furballs. Can’t really say the same for dogs (I have a phobia), but I have nothing against them. Best wishes to your dog; you seem like you really care about him/her! If I may ask, what’s your dog’s name? Now, as for this movie, I agree with pretty much all of your points (ESPCIALLY how DISGUSTING it was that Drago rode Toothless after FORCING HIM TO KILL HICCUP’S FATHER, like what the F*CK, the SHEER AUDACITY of that move), but one thing I’m surprised you didn’t comment on was during the fight scene at the dragon nest when those two-headed dragons (can’t remember their name for the life of me) ignited themselves on fire and started rolling at the enemies. That was SO COOL! Definitely one of my most favorite visuals from the film. I don’t know why, but I just LOVE when a story takes a common fantasy creature and uses their abilities in unorthodox ways; it just adds so much flavor! And speaking of dragon abilities, not only did the Bewilderbeast look awesome, but its ice breath attack was a nice touch; definitely sets it apart from the other “lesser” or “common” dragons, as it’s supposed to be the “King of All Dragons,” after all, at least according to Hiccup’s mom. That left me wondering, though: what does this mean for the Dragon Queen from the first movie? Like, Hiccup’s mom says that every nest has an Alpha, which in the first movie was definitely the Dragon Queen, which shares a lot of similarities with the Bewilderbeast in terms of appearance, but why does she breathe fire instead of ice? Like, you’d think their powers would be similar since they look so similar, but apparently not. Personally, I like to think that just means she’s weaker than the Bewilderbeast, because man, the Dragon Queen was a complete asshole, lmao. Do I have anything else to say? I guess not, other than whether I want to recommend the third movie: …I don’t remember. Haven’t seen that one in ages, either, so I only remember, like, a few things, so once again, no clue whether it’s worth watching. Funny thing: for some reason, I had a memory that Stoick dying and Toothless becoming an Alpha were both things from the 3rd movie, so now I remember even less about it… But, if you watch it, I’ll definitely try to watch your reaction, too! These two films have been amazing thus far, so hopefully the third one will be as well. Oh, and one more thing: you mentioned that you intend to watch most of the things from the light-hearted content poll you set up. If I may ask, did WALL-E receive enough votes for you to watch it someday? Because MAN, that movie is a MASTERPIECE. It’s SO SWEET, and has a great message, too! I probaply watched it, like, 20 times as a child XD Definitely one of my favorite childhood memories, so it’d be great to see your reaction to it someday. Sorry for asking something unrelated to How to Train your Dragon here, btw, I just forgot to write this request into the original poll, and now it’s already a few months old, so I felt like it wouldn’t be appropriate to comment on it anymore…

Heimo

you definitely need to watch the third one, like someone else already said it's the perfect wrap up for the trilogy and with what you were predicting for this one while you were watching it, you will definitely enjoy the next one. these are my all-time favorite movies and I probably watch them at least once a week, I even have a tattoo for the first one. looking forward to the next reaction!

Alyssa Heidenreich

oh hell yeah

ariel

Eret saying "Drago" and you going "introduce game of thrones?", I was just waiting for you to recognize Kit Harrington's voice. It's the little things

Mariana

Thanks for this reaction! Can’t wait for the next one :D sending lots of love !!!

Charles Gerena

Clicked so fast, lol. Please, please do the third movie. So worth it. I am glad you enjoyed this one and that it lived up to your expectations. From what you were wanting and expecting to see in this one, I know the third one will be something you enjoy. It definitely broke the 3rd film curse ( I don't know why the third film in every franchise is so completely off from the original franchise, but this one stays true). Seriously this is the favorite animated series of me (41f) my mom (60) and my sisters (34 and 27) so it really spans the generations and appeals to everyone.

Cheyenne Talbot
