2024-09-20 16:56:00 +0000 UTCi watched this as it aired in ireland in 2008 (so i was 8 which...yeah was probably not the most appropriate lol) so a lot of my love for it is probably tied up in nostalgia but, man, it is just so damn camp, fun and rewatchable. at the time it was actually very progressive but, looking back on it as a present day viewer, there were things that they were so ahead of the curve for and then there are things where you think 'so, in 2008, people thought as long as you classified it as 'humour' you could get away with saying stuff like that'. very very 00s in its 'dark humour', but as long as you go into it knowing that it's half aged well and half yikes, you can just have fun with it. season 3 might be one of the most iconic series of television aired in the 2010s. so excited to follow you along on your gleek journey lol <3

2024-08-22 18:06:19 +0000 UTCHonestly episode 2 had some cringy performances to most Glee fans (Gold Digger, Push It) and you actually enjoyed them so honestly i think you can power through the series all the way, just keep in mind that the writing may fall off a little but there's still great performances past s3. You also get to see the cast/characters improve vocally throughout the show. Also, not sure if you noticed at all but Naya Rivera is in these episodes as a background character, she's the cheerleader who is always with Quinn and tried out for the glee club with her.

I understand why people say the show fell off a cliff after a while, but I'd say the only bad BAD season is S5. S4 and S6 aren't as great as the first 3, but I don't think it's as bad as people seem to think. Can't wait for the next ones!

I think the most important thing to keep in mind when watching is the time period it was in and the fact that the intention of the show is to be satire. It definitely doesn’t excuse the problematic moments of the show. Also as far as the show goes, I really enjoyed the whole show, it definitely takes an interesting and different shift after season 3 but I think if you go into it with an open mind, you can really enjoy it. Season 6 is probably the weakest in my opinion, but it’s the shortest one and I think it’s worth watching all the way through to see how they wrap things up. I think you should just vibe it out and if you get to a point where it’s not enjoyable anymore for you then that’s up to your judgment.
