Thank you for your services, I’ve never managed to be quick enough to get into the request tier 🥹 It is definitely a welcome change seeing him cover some legacy acts as a break from the pop for a change. Now I’m not a pop hater, I’ve been w him since his first Little Mix videos. But Michael is so cool and open minded w music, and has such an appreciation for all talent, that I think it’s awesome for him (AND us) to see someone mixing it up. So thank you!

Eefa

I requested "Where the Streets Have No Name" and another requester asked for "Bullet the Blue Sky" in July, I believe. I'm trying to send Michaeal stuff he specifically mentioned he is unfamiliar with, like the Beatles and U2.

Julie B

Side note, Kings of Leon is a good shout for comparison, and also think- no Coldplay without U2. Radiohead, Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Oasis, Muse, Arcade Fire, The Script have all admitted to being largely inspired by U2’s music, and you can hear their signature sound reverberate through all modern stadium rock (The Killers and Thirty Seconds to Mars also come to mind!).

Eefa

Just popping in to say I’m so thankful to the Patron who’s bringing U2 to you, it’s such a welcome breath of fresh air in your rotation of usual artists, and wonderful to see you get to experience a top vocalist of a different corner of the musical spectrum. Where The Streets Have No Name is a classic! It’s loosely structured and jammy in nature, correct, (and because of that, it wouldn’t have been one of my first choices of suggestions). But it does embody that everlasting summer youth spirit and hopeful feeling that so much of U2’s music brings. Would love to see the Patron bring a more traditionally structured, rock U2 track to you in the future such as Sunday Bloody Sunday or Beautiful Day! Although my favourite song by them by far is New Year’s Day, and I think you’d adore a true ballad by them like One or With or Without You :))

Eefa

i'm a simple woman, i see the great gatsby musical. i click

Ugh so disappointed to see barely any bts this month I always look forward to these but lately the request are not for me 🙁

Stephy13

OMG True to Your Heart was my JAM back in the day. Haven't thought of that song in ages so this was an awesome reminder!

Panic@theBTS

aespa my gurrllsss!!! very known for their vocals. they have a comeback this month if u ever feel like checking out more stuff :))) also the Harvard opportunes are insane (erase me, house of the rising sun, and all for us recs 👀)

Marlyse Cruz

I know it came out ages ago and I cant give recommendations but as a south African viewer of yous it would genuinely mean a lot to me if you got around to doing Tyla's album.

Kat

We need a full Banks discography deep dive atp 😭

Jade Hunter

You’ll see an album for sure 🙂

messaged you Alex :)

love love love seeing more djo here and thank you to whoever recommended it. been a huge fan of his for years and it still feels weird seeing how viral he went because of this song lol. it wasn't on the bear (unfortunately) but it's been about everywhere else. i could type paragraphs about the djo lore but this song is about his time in chicago where he went to college and how he looks back at that time and how important it was and just reminiscing about his time before fame. caroline who is mentioned in the song is one of his sisters who often encouraged him to take up acting.

ariel

You made total sense. Thank you for sharing. 💜 TW: memories ahead, just mumbling for myself. No need to read. I was in Portland, Oregon, and remember exactly where I was and how I felt, too. I was with college friends. They woke me up in time to watch the second plane hit. I thought my head was going to burst. It was so strange, I had to wrap it tight for days with a scarf. Helicopters started flying over Portland regularly in the days after. I guess there was the idea that they might hit other cities. The US has always been quietly at war with some country or other, but this was worse than Desert Storm. The expectation of war was heavy in the air.

FlyUshkiFly

Chris Stapleton really should be in the greatest voices of all time conversation.

chimelle6

Oh god, that's heartbreaking. I know that sound.

FlyUshkiFly

Yay, more U2! Joshua Tree is one of the 100 best albums of all time. I don't think I'd get much opposition to that opinion. 😁

FlyUshkiFly

hey michael! i requested one more “the amazing devil” song before i left the custom request tier, but i don’t see it on here. i know i paid $30 for september though. sorry about this, it’s one of my favorites from that album so i really want you to see it!!

Alexander

I sent you a clip of Joe talking about what ‘the end of the beginning’ means to him on instagram but in short, he reflects on how quickly his life changed after moving from Chicago to film Stranger Things and pursue acting. He realized that, in the process, he took many things for granted before fame came into the picture

Bailey Fay

PLEASE do more aespa

star

Thank you to the person that requested Drama, ily 😭 I love that song so much. I've only gotten into aespa recently but this song has been on repeat! And the instrumental is just gorgeous. As for ZB1, yes they're touring rn! I think it's mostly an Asian tour for now but hopefully they'll extend it and visit other continents as well (cries in European). It's really sad your friend couldn't go to the concert, from what I've seen it looks really good. I think the 'pots and pans' part of Crush is the reason why the song is "controversial", but I still feel like the hate train towards that song was so forced lol. It happens every time they release an album, and then after some time haters crawl out of their shells and go "well, the song's not actually THAT bad...". I personally love Crush (especially the instrumental) and imo the 'noise' part gives the song the right kick and wow moment that it needed. It's definitely a whole different genre compared to Melting Point, but I also love me some fun and cutesy songs like that.

Michel

first of all, whoever keeps requesting all that skz content, thank you & I love you! han is my ult of ults (I like so many groups that I now have mutltiple "ult biases" and ult groups lmao) - he is also the member within skz that has released the most solo songs (as skz records) and shows off both his rapping and singing in them (he is considered as one of THE aces of kpop as he excels in both) if you ever have the time & are interested, I highly recommend checking out the "skz replay" album to hear solos from all eight members (as well as some unit and groups songs)! it is a pretty lengthy album and has two sides (A and B), with the second half of the album consisting of songs that had previously been released only on YouTube via skz records just like Human and Streetlights I think listening to that album in particular would be great for you to see what each member brings into the group, and it also shows the many different genres and vibes that SKZ can do and has done (I would also be very much down for you to listen to any other album by them hehe)

JJ

Till this day I'm still as obsessed with Who's choreography as the first time I saw it. And yes, all the dancers were amazing.

may

WOW true to your heart is an absolute fave from my childhood! every time i heard it it would be stuck in my head for days- thank you for requesting this, from one caitlin to another haha

caitlin

Han's song "Human" is a pt.2 to his song "Alien," which is such an amazing song! there's an animated version of Alien that will provide much more context to Human (also, Han rhymes with John lol)

jackie0330

unfortunaly in the heights didn't do as good as expected because it was released during the pandemic and had limited release in theaters. it wasn't released in many countries outside the us, it was promoted in my movie theater in my country and trailer was shown but the movie was never released here. from what i've seen online, the movie is very liked and loved by the ones i've heard from and the community online and was shut out of award season because studios promoted west side story instead but i love the movie so much and i've seen pretty much every video i could find online from the broadway show and that cast.

Nine Anutza

Had a feeling this would be delayed since you have to watch your Mets (congrats to them btw). OKAY, now on to True to Your Heart. So, I'm pretty sure I wrote in the message that this song was the end credits song to Mulan. It is an original 98 Degrees and Stevie Wonder duet. I think there's actually two versions with different lyrics: one for the movie itself and one for the soundtrack (and 98 Degrees' album 98 Degrees and Rising). You did react to their "Because Of You" song last year as well. But yes, I got both Disney and boyband on this one. I love love that you enjoyed this one so much. It is one of my favorites of theirs (after Because of You). And I hope you're not too disappointed, but next month is neither of the people (or things) that I usually request. But don't you worry, I have PLENTY of more Carrie, boyband, and Disney coming after that. 😂🧡

CGoerlich

i’m down for a full Djo album reaction!

Jimin, our gliding angel

Mariana

Oof, your feelings were FEELING on that last one... I'm so sorry you had a second row seat to the horror on 9/11. I was in my 7th grade US history class in MN when the teacher turned on the TV and we all watched in stunned silence. I distinctly remember thinking how surreal it was to be in history class as history was happening. The schools ended up dismissing early (we're close to Mayo Clinic and there was some fear initially that Mayo would be targeted) but for the next two hours until they sent us home there was nothing but the news, tears and silence. Much love to you, Bev!

Amanda M.

I wanna get in the custom tier so bad and I always miss it!!! These were some good picks!

Kim

So glad to see more Ateez here! Silver Light is one of my favorites from this album and I'm so glad you liked it! Really looking forward to the album reaction! BTW ateez is pronounced "ay-teez" like eighties with a stronger T?

Giu Bressani

Djo! I thiiiink you reacted to Gloom way back, and I’m pretty sure that’s on his sophomore album, the same as this one. I think what Joe is doing musically is so interesting, and it was really cool to see End of Beginning go viral two years after the album was released. Gotta love some classic U2! My friend went and say them in Vegas last October and had a blast

Jayde Ritchey

Fun! Only have time for a couple tonight, so I'll comment on the ones that I know something about! Haha Han (pronounced like Han Solo - "Hahn") is my favourite member of Stray Kids. He's one of those complete packages of talent. I also think that Human is about the fans, but also could be about the Stray Kids team as well. U2 - Where the Streets Have No Name was my favourite song by U2 when I was a kid. I'd completely forgotten the video. You're spot on with how many groups take inspiration from them. KB - so fun that you got to see more of the series! Only One Of is really the only group that I've seen that's been purposefully touching on the LGBTQ representation consistently in their music, and especially this series. (There are 6 people in the group, so 6 parts!) Jimin - I think this was a practice for the live performance that aired on Jimmy Fallon, so the camera work was slightly part of the rehearsal, since he was preparing for a live-to-camera performance, rather than a stage performance.

Alix Drifty

Thank you micheal for just being you so raw and authentically you!! I was in music class in kansas and I will never forget the sound my music teacher made the morning of 9/11! The cry released on this world and I am sure it was heard by many in classes everywhere that morning was so heart breaking! Her son had just moved to New York for an internship at The world Trade center.

Portia Crain

Yes!!! The female dancers are so amazing in the who dance practice!! They were really doing their thing and stood out.

chimelle6

When am I going to see newjeans here 😔

TAYLEN Shannon

Love seeing more Djo on here!
