2024-10-26 20:56:29 +0000 UTCi don't have the same issues as charlie but i have had my own struggles, so it's unfortunately relatable to have this part of you that you don't fully understand and you can't control it, and it feels like your own brain is turning against you sometimes and I love the way the show (and the graphic novels) depicts charlie's journey and nick's as well. I've never been in nick's side of the situation, but i'm sure it can't be easy to have someone you love dealing with such a scary and difficult thing that you want to help but there's nothing you can do. i've seen a lot of people say they don't like that this show is so fluffy and glossy and sweet instead of showing the truth of being a queer teen, and every time i see that i know that none of them made it past the first episode of season 1, if they even made it past trailer. even though at times it does have this sort of life through an instagram filter aspect to it, it uses that sweet exterior to draw you in to loving these characters so that it can then go so much deeper into some really heavy topics that they handle really well, and i feel like it doesn't get enough credit for that.

2024-10-11 06:33:16 +0000 UTCI was so excited for you to watch this season but there was a part of me that needed time to able to rewatch it cause this season really hit close to home. Just like you said anyone that has been on a mental health journey gets where Charlie is coming from and how difficult it can be to talk to someone; especially your loved ones. This season will always hold a very special place in my heart and I love that we are getting more and more stories that talk about these kind of human life struggles. I don't know maybe somewhere it makes me/us feel comfortable for at least a split second that someone gets what you are going through. Not that I want anyone to go through it but you get what I mean? Anyway, thank you Michael for being so honest and vulnerable about your feelings and also giving some of us that safe space to openly talk about ours! 🫂💛

What I love about this show is that they don’t let the caracters spiral out completely for entertainment like other shows would do. They identify a problem and then do something about it in the most loving way❤️🍁

2024-10-08 19:00:30 +0000 UTCMan, I really relate to Charlie. In HS, I was ‘institutionalized’ due to mental illness and told no one, my friends were confused, there was a lot of shame. It wasn’t a terrible experience but I also didn’t leave cured. I’ve been hospitalized a handful more times since HS (20-ish years ago), some places were TERRIBLE, some were great, and I never left cured. Mental Illness is a life-long journey that takes constant HARD work. I think a lot of us relate to Charlie, it’s not easy being a teenager, there’s so much they deal with that gets dismissed

It consists of William gao (the actor who plays Tao) and his sister Olivia. They also had a song on the soundtrack in s2 in the last ep called “ur so pretty”. I love their music.

When S2 came out I was not in a space mentally to watch it by myself so I watched it with you and I can't wait to do it again:) Oh and now I get to go back and watch all your the Bear reactions which is also great!
