Glee 1x13, 1x14

Comments

I would watch an Armageddon reaction 🤷🏻‍♀️

Storm

jonathan groff is my religion.

Ana Luiza Sant'anna

jonathan groff is so iconic in this, 9 year old me shipped jesse and rachel so hard when this aired lmao

jade

I was gonna say that Jesse St. James is my guilty pleasure, but seeing how many love him I guess I don’t need to feel bad about it lol

Bangtan is life

jonathan groff was king george in hamilton and also is the voice of kristoff in frozen. he and lea met on spring awakening on broadway and have been bffs since then. he has an amazing voice. he won a tony for a musical he did with daniel radcliffe this past year, that soundtrack and live performances are really good <3 idina menzel the teacher of the other club is the voice of elsa in frozen and this episode of glee was before they did frozen. she was also the og elphaba in wicked on broadway with kristin chenoweth and was on the og cast of rent on broadway and reprise her role on the movie (2005).

Nine Anutza

Is he as off-putting as people say she is, or do people exaggerate how bad she is? Cuz he doesn’t seem like he would be like that

Prem Parekh

Hahahah it’s okay!!! You’ve not seen Wicked and Elsa is a cartoon so don’t beat yourself up!! I thought you might click from Taylor bringing her out at 1989 tour when she was dressed like Olaf 😭 you’re definitely absolved of any shame

Giorgia M

IM ASHAMED OF MYSELF

Michael Beveraggi

What I really love is that Kristin chenoweth and Idina Menzel both make appearances in Glee and they were the original glinda and elphaba in Wicked on Broadway 💕

Lisa

I hate Will’s reaction when Rachel is singing gives you hell - I think his main issue is how close he feels to Finn and doesn’t want anyone upsetting him. It’s such a good performance and I love it - he deserved it 😂

Lisa

Any episode with Jonathan Groff will always be good. He has brilliant on-screen chemistry with Lea because of how close they are in real life

Jenny

Yes, "Hello, Goodbye" is a Beatles song. "Don't Rain on My Parade" is from the musical Funny Girl, made famous by Barbara Streisand. Lea Michelle was recently in the Funny Girl revival on Broadway.

Julie B

Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff (Jesse St. James) are really close friends! They previously starred together in Spring Awakening on Broadway, and have been close ever since. He was even the man of honor at her wedding.

Thalia

Jesse St James is one of my favorite glee characters and I love the dynamic of him and Rachel. So much drama, so much chemistry, so many good duets!!

Ally D.

Rachel was not at fault for telling Finn about the baby. I would do the same thing! He deserved to know, he was about to devote his life and finances to a baby that wasn't his she was helping him. The rest of the glee club was doing him dirty keeping it from him. I can understand sympathy for Quinn at certain points for sure her parents kicking her out was super sad (miss dianna was acting her ass off too) and the whole fact of being pregnant that young is a hard thing but I can't have sympathy for cheating and lying to your boyfriend that he's the father when he's not.

Charlie

I know I'm probably the 100th person to comment it, but Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff) was King George in "Hamilton"! He's a great actor and singer and is also actually best friends with Lea Michele! He's also the voice of Kristoff in "Frozen" and is in the great crime thriller show "Mindhunter" which I highly recommend. And the coach of Vocal Adrenaline, is the great Idina Menzel! Another Broadway icon, she's probably most well-know for being Elphaba in "Wicked", and Maureen in "Rent". But she's also the voice of Elsa from "Frozen" and is in one of my favorite Disney movies "Enchanted" lol Lots of talented crossover!

sierra's reaction corner

You’ve seen Idina in Enchanted!

Lorena Oliveira

I’m sorry but Rachel wasn’t awful for telling Finn the truth. The rest of the club was awful for keeping it from him!

Ashley Kinney

I see the comments about Idina Menzel being from Frozen and Wicked! But she was also in the movie version of Rent! All iconic roles!

Ashley Kinney

finally you get introduced to my beloved jesse st james!! excited for the next ones!

Giu Bressani

Babyyyyy Amber Riley is the only person outside of j hud. That I know does the original Effie from broadway

Aysia Gilbert

im so ready for all of the jesse st james and vocal adrenaline goodness we're about to get - he is so ridiculously talented and does some of the best numbers on the show!

caitlin

You probably know Idina from Enchanted

Tomasina Hill

fun fact, Jesse St James is played by Jonathan Groff; King George in Hamilton and Kristoff in Frozen. Also, he and Lea Michele starred in Spring Awakening on Broadway before Glee so they were already (and still are) very close. Shelby is played by Idina Menzel; Elsa from Frozen and Elphaba from Wicked! Kristen Chenoweth who starred alongside her in Wicked was also in the show as April earlier in the season.

Native Newyorker

Girl that’s Idina Menzel!!!! Of Wicked and Frozen fame !!!! That’s Elsa herself!!!! Queen of Broadway!! That’s why you’ll recognise her!!! Sorry too many exclamation marks but still, I’m excited 🤓

Giorgia M

King George!

Tomasina Hill

Did you recognize King George from Hamilton? Lol. He and Lea Michelle had been on Broadway together before Glee. I believe he’s still one of her really close friends. The vocal adrenaline teacher originated the role of Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway. She’s also Elsa in Frozen.

Tiffany

The song Rachel was singing at sectionals was Don’t Rain on My Parade from Broadway’s Funny Girl. Also I’m not sure if you caught it, but when they sing My Life Would Suck Without You, they do little nods to popular numbers they’ve done in the show so far (Say a Little Prayer, Proud Mary, Push It, Single Ladies, Hair, Last Name, and others) it’s fun to catch the little nods to the ones they’ve done so far

Victoria Drush

Sectionals is probably one of my favorite episodes overall for so many reasons! and I love that Amber Riley sung a song from Dream Girls and Lea Michele sang a song from Funny Girl and both of them went on to play these characters on Broadway/West End years later This version of 'Don't Rain on My Parade' is on my top 5 of Lea solos for the entire show, and honestly top 10 performances overall. It's just a Glee classic that never ever gets old

Giu Bressani

The hurricane joke- SPEECHLESS

Kayleigh Staughton

Rachel sang “Don’t Rain On My Parade” from the broadway musical Funny Girl. Funny girl becomes a bigger plot line through out the show!:)

Lindsay

I don't care what ANYONE else says or thinks, the baby reveal was entirely Mercede's fault at that point, along with the rest of the club. She claimed that boy was her friend but was fully ready to keep that secret just to keep him in the club. Rachel didn't even know that the rest of the club did know. It wasn't even a matter of trusting Rachel enough to tell her, it was the fact that they decided not to tell Finn and let that boy raise a baby he thought was his. Quinn should've told him day one but anyone else in that club who even claimed to care for him a bit should've as well.
