I mean, you can have your first experience with Razhel Zegler's acting by watching "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes"... preferably with us.

Brooke Nathan and Jamie - top tier

The Slamball plot was James Lafferty's favorite of the whole show. Every time I watch it I can just see James having so much fun 😁

Remember the episode where Lucas painted his red door black? And Episode 9 is called "Sympathy for the Devil?" Apparently, there's a big Rolling Stones fan on the writing staff!

Yeah Peyton is clearly the problem here, not Julian. Julian optioning the book is weird but it’s on Peyton for not telling her FIANCÉ the truth. And in the flashbacks he’s just going out with a girl he likes lol what’s the problem

Yeah, im gonna change mine. It was 3 am and I wasn't thinking. 😂

I feel like the Julian defense in the comments is a little spoilerly. Like a projection of how people feel about the character with all the later context & experiences they have with him. Watching only these episodes, the show introduces him as incredibly creepy and exploitative, stalker and borderline psychotic.

Loved your reaction as always! And can't wait to see the next upload. 😀 Yes, this is short, but its 3 am. 😂

Yikes. I sort of feel like the level of Julian hate is a little unwarranted. Does he come off as shady in these first two episodes? Yes, sure, especially when he calls Peyton 'baby' in the first episode. I didn't like that. But I feel like the flashbacks were completely misconstrued as far as his character and his motives are concerned. I'm just saying, if I saw someone obviously in distress at work or in public somewhere, I would also try to engage with them, and make sure they're okay. And I didn't think the break up scene was manipulative at all. If I was in a relationship with someone who continued to carry around love letters their ex had written them, I'd be upset too. And let's be honest, Lucas' book is basically a love letter to Peyton. The fact that she buys a copy every time she sees it and carries a copy in her purse was a symbol that she wasn't over him, and Julian realized it in that moment. On another note...I really liked what you said about Jamie being the moral compass of the show. In the first four seasons, it was Whitey. Kind of funny that it was the eldest cast member and now its the youngest speaking wisdom and guiding all the sweet, messy people in his life. I love the scenes with Jackson (Jamie), Joy, and James, and also between Jackson and Sophia. They all feel so natural with each other. One last thing that has ALWAYS bugged me as far as continuity goes...I never understood why Peyton never asked Derek what their dad's name was. I feel like that would be a natural conversation. "Oh hello, big brother I never knew about. By the way, who is our dad? What's his name and what's he like?" When we first meet Derek back in Season 4, I remember him talking about his dad being around when he was little and teaching him how to box. But when we meet Mick, it's obvious that he's never been the guy who stuck around, even for a little while. And I can't really see him being the kind of guy who wants to go ten rounds in a boxing ring. Sorry, not sorry, but he strikes me as the kind of guy who runs away when the times get tough. He doesn't meet confrontation, he runs from it. It just feels like the writers would hope we would forget about the things they'd previously established about their father. Either that or THEY forgot. I hate all the Mouth and Gigi stuff. I really hate it a whole lot. Especially knowing what a sleazeball the creator was and the way he would dehumanize the women on set, the decision to write Gigi as this sex-crazed college girl who won't stop harassing and propositioning her co-worker saying things like, "If I can't joke around with you, who can I joke around with?" is absolutely foul.
