It's okay not to like every piece of content your favorite artists produce. It doesn't mean she's unable to create art when she's in a happy, stable relationship. I was totally caught off guard by the vibe of the album at first, but it didn't take long for it to grow on me. As someone who loves the quality of her lower register, I freaking LOVED the way her middle and upper registers sound on this album. I could feel the energy, the humor, and the happiness coming through her voice. Every time there's a little squeak/break in her voice I just love it. I also think it's really fun from a sonical standpoint. It just makes me want to dance. As far as her lyricism goes, maybe it isn't as lyrically complex as her previous albums. But there are still some beautiful turns of phrase throughout the album (🎶Every eldest daughter was the first lamb to the slaughter🎶 felt like it was written directed at me. Ouch). And let's not pretend that every line in recent albums has be untouchable perfection. Case in point: 🎶Karma is a cat, purring in my lap 'cause it loves me/Flexing like a goddamn acrobat/me and Karma vibe like that🎶 It's not exactly T.S. Eliot. Doesn't make it bad, but I've literally seen people saying the lyrics in TLOAS sound like they were AI-generated, which is ridiculous. It's even more annoying when I think about how many people came down on TTPD for being "too wordy". Damned if you do, damned if you don't, I guess. Faves: Opalite, The Life of a Showgirl, Honey, Eldest Daughter (that bridge is perfection), and Cancelled.

People can have their own opinions but most have been so “factual” about it as if some people are not allowed to enjoy it bc everyone wants us to hate it and we're not allowed to feel differently 😅 taylor has more than 10 albums!! Go and listen to the ones you like if u hate this one pls 😂 also, i feel like people have been super spoiled with super poetic lyricism and complicated mixes and just complex albums in general, so now that she released a simpler and more chill album, people are mad bc it’s not the usual stuff we’ve been getting (which lately has been deep or dark). idk, but cant an artist just create whatever they want (and just be happy)?
