[[Lucien Lemuel Morningstar]]
"So, where exactly are we going?" I asked Fate as we entered a portal.
"Your father, Lord Lucifer… has already taken care of your residence. And for now, I am going to take you to your house." Fate answered, making me shrug.
"Sounds fair."
As we stepped out of the portal, there was a massive mansion in front of our eyes. A beautiful large garden with an angelic fountain and multiple well-trimmed trees and bushes leading to the mansion.
"Not too shabby."
I was used to living in a realm where I only needed to imagine and I would obtain the thing. But here, it was different but this mansion was good enough… I guess.
"Welcome Master!" The maid and butlers greeted in unison as we entered the house.
It was better than I expected, then again… it's my father's pick. Of course, it was going to be good.
"So, Fate…" I raised an eyebrow. "That's your name right?"
"My name is Kent but yes, you can call me Fate as it is my hero moniker." He answered.
"Well then, Kent. I believe you have some questions for me…" I smiled. "You might be stronger than me at the moment, but I still possess some handy abilities."
My abilities were nothing to be proud of but father's genes make me a bit proud. Even if it comes to bite me in the ass.
Son of the Prideful Lucifer, after all.
He stared at me through his helmet. "I indeed do have some questions but I was waiting for you to get adjusted to this place first."
"I prefer getting the issues sorted before relaxing, so why don't we take a seat and discuss the questions?"
He nodded at my proposal as we walked towards the all-white drawing-room.
I definitely need to change the interior by quite a lot.
Taking a seat facing opposite to Kent, I asked. "So, ask."
"What is your motive for coming here?"
I can not babble about experimenting and trying to grow strong, so it's better to lie.
"My father has traversed every plane of existence but I am young and need to see the worlds that my father created. So, I am here to experience my youth."
Kind of the truth.
{{The Devil's Son activated: Mind Reading Blocked}}
The slight pang made me frown.
"I would prefer if you could stay away from my mind, Kent."
He stared at me and sighed. "Forgive me. But it's my duty to make sure that earth remains unharmed."
I didn't remove my eyes from him.
"If it was my father, you would have either gotten a laugh out of him or your existence would have been erased." My frown morphed into a smile. "But I don't like meaningless deaths. However, remember— I don't take well to people that don't listen to me."
He is stronger but he knows better than to fight me.
"I will keep that in mind." He said as I nodded. "So, what are your plans… from now?"
I leaned on the couch. "Good question. Let me ask you… what do people my age do?"
Kent seemed conflicted for some reason but answered. "They go to… school."
School… Interesting. I have already received all the required knowledge from my father about science, history and magic but I guess enjoying school life won't hurt.
"I see… Well then, what's the best school here?"
"That would be the Metropolitan High." Kent answered. "But are you sure about this… Humans are weaker than us and especially humans of your age… they can be quite foolish."
I chuckled as I fixed my posture. "I believe you fear that they might anger me and I might end up taking offence?"
He was not wrong to worry. I hate people that were disrespectful towards me but—
"You don't have to worry. I know better than to stoop to the level of human kids. You can be assured that unless it is some blessed human with powers, I won't interfere."
"That's good enough." Kent said, sighing a little. "I can take care of your admission as Lord Lucifer has already provided me with every legal document about you." He paused and looked at me. "I believe you know where the real ones are as I only have the photocopies."
I gave him a nod. "I do, but the photocopies should be enough right?"
He nodded. "They are enough. And as for the fees, you will have to provide it yourself."
Father left me quite a fortune that I know won't be running out anytime soon.
"I can take care of that."
He nodded. "Good. But I won't be able to be with you every time, so I will have someone to look after you."
Father did inform me that I would be provided with a 'nanny' that will help me adjust to this place. Now, I knew when he emphasised the word nanny that she wasn't going to be normal. But as long as she could do her job properly, I didn't mind who it was.
"Fine by me."
Now, I need to change the interior then worry about school.
…
…
[[Zatanna Zatara]]
Zatanna was not having a good day, she was having a horrible day.
First, she let Papa Midnite escape when she got knocked down by the Killer Croc. She had no idea in hell how the discount sorcerer managed to get the Croc to work with him.
Then when she returned from having her ass handed to her, she saw her crush making out with another dude.
'Maybe that's why he never took any interest in me…'
She didn't know that Constantine swung that way. And above everything else, her application to join the Justice League was rejected.
"I hate that Bat." She mumbled to herself.
And just when she thought that her day couldn't get any worse, she got a letter from Dr. Fate.
Every time the self-proclaimed sorcerer god met her, it ended up with her having a few of her bones broken after having to fight beings infinitely more powerful than her.
But that didn't mean she was weak, she was far from it. However, the people that Fate made her fight were either Dukes of Hell or some mad god.
In just three months, she had fought two Dukes of Hell, five mad sorcerers, one rogue god plus the usual Gotham villains that somehow made their way to Metropolis.
'The Bat is slacking on his duties.' She thought, ignorant to the issues that Batman was dealing with.
She at times wanted to quit her job as a hero and just go back to performing in the circus. But her father made her promise that she would help the weak and that's what has kept her from just throwing everything out of the window and relax in her house.
But she respected her deceased father a lot and that's what had kept her going for all this time.
She signed and took out the letter from her hat.
"A nanny huh? Can't be any worse than what I have already been through today." She shook her head. "Let's give it a try. At least, I am getting paid for this."
