Chapter 138: Kang, I have come to bargain!

"How close."


"A few hours, sir." 


Mobius isn't taking part in this war but he has provided me with enough people who have intel that can help track Kang. 


"His army is massive so I will be using quite a few of my weapons, both magical and non-magical." 


The informant nodded and passed me a tablet. "This has the possible sectors that Kang might start with."


Nodding and taking the tablet, I had to hurry with the positioning. 


The Guardians would deal with the large portion of the troops as they had far more insight on battles held in space. They will be provided with reinforcements in the form of weapons and inhumans. 


Nullifying Kang's time abilities was not possible so I will have to use my reality manipulation to match his rapid jumps. 


Power was only good till it could hit the enemies, if the enemies managed to keep avoiding by using time hops, power was useless.

"Who is going to fight?" Magnus asked, making me list the ones that I decided to take with me. 


"You will be responsible for maintaining the calm, if any of Kang's soldiers manage to break into the atmosphere make sure to take down the minions before they can do anything. However, do not go out of your way to engage them in space. 


"Very well." He agreed. "But you do not want the people to find out about Kang, do you?"


"I don't. Jester's fight was a way to glorify the mutants and for me to make an appearance. However, it was too destructive and the people are not ready to witness another battle. Also this war will be far more dangerous than the previous ones."


Magnus was smart and immediately came up with ways to prevent the public from knowing about Kang. 


"While you are not taking the High Table with you, they can be secretly on the lookout for escaping minions. And if they do that, chances are that no one on Earth will figure out about Kang." 


"Exactly and I will have to keep Kang and his army away from the sight of the space stations and satellites. With enough reinforcement, it won't be difficult." 


"And which weapons are you taking?" 


His question made me smile. The abundance of equipment and weapons I had collected over the years were going to be of use now. 


The Staff of One, The Soul Stone, The Metal from various places and worlds. 


It was time to use some of them.

Earth. 


The planet where everything started. 


There had been times when I fought against the protectors of Earth, each from a different era, a different timeline and each of them monstrously strong. 


And…


Each fell under my feet. Begging to spare their world. 


Pathetic. 


"We are early in this timeline." 


The minions behind me nodded. 


"Most of the warriors that fought against you in the past are not yet active and some never even became heroes in this world." One of my generals stated.


"And it is more than likely that the anomaly is the cause of it." 


Once again, everyone nodded at my deduction. 


"But it doesn't matter. We move forward and we take control of this timeline as well." Looking at the blue orb, I ordered. "March Ahead!"


Multiple ships flew straight, aiming at the blue orb containing lifeforms far inferior to ours. But ones that would grow to be superior over the aeons. 


The majestic build of our spaceships allowed travelling at a speed that those living on Earth cannot even fathom. 


"We will be inside the Earth's atmosphere within an hour, lord." 


The news that we would reach earth in an hour made everyone excited but something that even the sensors missed was approaching our way. 


"What is that?" I asked, which made the minions rush towards the radar, however they were unable to find anything on it. 


"We don't see anything, sire." They answered, however I could see a tiny ray of light approaching us. 


"That's… A spaceship." Deduced my general. His superhuman sight allowed him to scout far better than any camera or radar. "One that looks awfully similar to the one used by the Guardians."


"Guardians, you say?" Using my modified vision, I focused on the approaching light and just like my general stated, it was indeed the Guardians' ship. 


A smile crept up my face. "What are they planning now?" 


"Walking towards the mouth of death, it appears." 


"They are stupid, Barbos. But not that stupid." My answer made my general nod slightly. "They managed to figure out a way to fool our radars. And tell me, how did they do that when our technology is far more advanced than theirs?" 


Barbos went silent. 


"They managed to find someone that provided them with that tech, someone that reignited their courage." 


Barbos looked at me in astonishment. 


"Sire, you are smiling?"


"Do you not see it, Barbos?" My question made him curious. 


"I am not certain if I follow, my lord." Barbos was puzzled. 


"I thought this timeline would be one of those where I conquer it without much of a battle." I said. "And that has always been boring."


"And you think the person that provided them with this technology might be a good warrior?" Barbos followed up pretty well. 


"I do hope so." As I said that, I saw Starlord of the Guardians come out of his ship in a spacesuit. 


"Kang!" 


He yelled. 


"I've come to bargain!"
