Marvel: Chapter 139

Chapter 139: It is time!

Kang stood curious at Starlord's brave comment. It was not every day he got people coming to him to bargain.

"You came all the way... to me. To your doom… to bargain?" Kang asked, his infinite time devices activating to prevent the Guardians from escaping.

"We want to resolve this peacefully, Kang!" Starlord yelled from afar. "You leave this timeline and we go our merry way, no need to shed unnecessary blood."

Kang stared down the human hybrid with his curiosity infinitely rising.

"Do tell me, Guardian." Kang asked quizzically. "What gave you the courage to come here, to me… And bargain with a promise that does me no good?"

Starlord stood proud. "It does you good, Kang." He assured.

"How so?"

Starlord raised his hand. "Like this."

And hundreds of Inhumans flew in space.

"Conceal."

It was no tech that made Starlord's ship invisible, it was just one of the weaker spells of the Staff of One.

And Kang's amused face at seeing hundreds of Inhumans flying towards him meant he didn't expect such an army to face him.

"W-What is the meaning of this." Medusa hissed at seeing her soldiers in space ready to fight Kang.

"Don't worry about it, lady Medusa." I replied watching the entire show from my seat with Sinister sitting in the corner and enjoying tea. "Once the battle is over, I will erase the memories of the Inhumans."

"Even if some of them fall, you can resurrect them." Sinister casually remarked.

Gritting her teeth, Medusa countered. "Then why didn't you use your people! If you can revive them."

"A very good question." I said, making Sinister look at me. "But the answer is… guilt."

"Guilt?" Medusa asked in both amusement and anger. "Guilt that you don't feel in using my people."

"Call me a hypocrite, but I don't feel guilt in using people that I never met. But if one of my people died in war and I resurrected them, it would make me feel a bit guilty."

I wasn't certain if resurrection would change any aspect about them. And after having to alter Joel's memories, I felt a bit guilty. And if possible, I would prefer avoiding another event like that.

"Your husband is strong." Sinister commented, watching Black Bolt destroy multiple ships with his mere voice.

I enchanted all of them to be able to breathe in space and that makes the fight much more interesting to spectate.

And as Sinister said, Black Bolt was monstrously strong. His screech made everything that it touched explode.

"Why am I here…" Medusa questioned. "Shouldn't I be fighting Kang then?"

Despite her calm tone, there was venom hidden in it.

“Well compared to the rest of the Inhumans, you are more suited for cleanup duty.  So, you will be here to help my people clean the escaped minions.

Her frown grew deeper than ever. “Curses.”

“A Royal till the end.” Her curse made me chuckle. “Won’t even use 'Fuck You.’ Ah, such modesty.”

“When are you going to engage?” Sinister asked. “One on one, you can take down Kang.”

Medusa widened her eyes at Sinister’s statement.

“What? You can take down Kang?” Medusa was furious. “If you could have defeated Kang, why did you even make us fight him?!?!?”

“You don’t have to worry your pretty head about it, sweetheart.  Now hush!” My command made her shut her mouth immediately, Hive’s ability is extremely potent on Inhumans and Sentry’s potion made it ten times more effective.

“When are you going to engage?” Sinister repeated, not bothered in the slightest by Medusa.

With a calm smile, I responded. “Soon.”

While my clone was with Sinister watching the battle, I stayed with Selene enjoying a drink.

“Aren’t you going to check on what’s happening?” She asked as I gulped down the glass of alcohol, my powers making it impossible for me to get drunk.

“I already know what is happening.” I said. “Shared senses, you know?”

“Your powers are unfair but I cannot complain. You have a lot to deal with because of your powers.”

I laughed at her words. “With great power comes great responsibility. Where that responsibility is to follow the good or the bad depends on the person.”

“Many believe in the phrase ‘With great power comes great abuse.’ I am surprised you don’t do that.” She said, pouring herself some alcohol.

I played with the glass in my hand as I stared at her beautiful eyes. “No matter how much you abuse your powers, you will have to take responsibility one day. And for me those days are every day.”

“Fair enough.” She nodded and asked. “How many deaths will occur?”

“Enough to make Strange furious at me. But he cannot interfere, rules of magic prevent him from doing certain things.”

Sorcerer Supreme was strong enough to scare even a few gods but he was bound by the laws of magic and time. Which limited the things he could and couldn’t do.

“And you are not?” Selene asked curiously. Just like Strange, she was also a sorceress and bound by magical laws.

“I am not a magician. I am a creation of science.” I said and it was true. Sentry’s powers were based on science and not magic. “And my magic is thanks to the magical equipment that I own.”

Selene shrugged. “If Kang is the master of time, can't you use your spatial powers to face his time?”

“That is a possibility. However, my ability to control space is indirectly linked with time because of the space-time continuum which means Kang can overrule my spatial control. But don’t worry, I have far too many ways to face him.” I paused and created a screen before us using matter manipulation. “And look, it’s about time I face Kang.”

As I said that, we saw Kang punch Black Bolt in the face, sending him crashing into one of the spaceships.

“You are strong but ridiculously naive.” He said, appearing right next to Black Bolt. “And your moves are disappointingly predictable.” Predicting Black Bolt’s move, Kang grabbed the Inhuman king’s leg and slammed him onto the nearest metal surface.

Turning around he looked at Starlord, who shuddered at the sight.

“Oh Fuck!” Quill cursed but before he could run, Kang rushed towards him.

Drax tried to stop the Warlord but he could never reach Kang as the lord of time had slowed the destroyer by countless ratios, making him barely move a millimetre within the entire second. However, Kang was insanely fast. He zapped towards Quill, and punched the leader of the Guardians in the gut making him cough violently.

“Now. Where is the Anomaly?”

“Annnnd that’s my cue.” I told Selene. “I hope you enjoy the show, Selene.”

“Wai-” Without waiting for her to finish her words, I teleported.

It was finally time to face Kang the Conqueror.
