Chapter 35: F*cking Again System!

Grayfia Lucifuge, the Strongest Queen and Sirzechs Lucifer's wife was a devil that was responsible for delivering messages to Rias from Sirzechs and vice versa. 


Almost no one knew why she was determined in doing such menial work when they had servants that could do anything at her command.


But seeing that Grayfia did all the work, people assumed that she did it as a good wife and a good daughter-in-law.


No one knew her actual reason.


"The Lord Phenex and Lord Gremory have allowed you to take people as temporary members to help you in the rating game." Grayfia announced, seeing Rias smiling brightly. "As long as they are not stronger than you. If they are stronger than you, you need to make them join your peerage first."


"That shouldn't be a problem."


She heard the person that she remembered vividly stating. "None of the people she wants to help her exceeds her in raw power."


"I assume you will be one of the people that will be helping Lady Rias, Kento Yamazaki?"


Grayfia did not know how Rias found the boy, but she knew that he had something special.


The boy possessed a weapon that was painful for the devils to bear and she did her research to check if he was related to the church –which he surprisingly was not.


She did not know his motive, yet she did not mind if he was willing to help Rias. However, she was also prepared in case he had ulterior motives.


"I do not know what you did, Kento Yamazaki." Grayfia said. "But young master Riser stated… No `demanded` in his condition that you had to be one of the substitutes in order for him to allow others."


Kento chuckled, after all… it was him that led to the agreement.


"It's nothing special." Kento said. "Just a chance for both of us to test each other."


"Do not underestimate Riser Phenex." Grayfia said. "He might not be the strongest, but being a Phenex gives him an edge over most others. I believe Lady Rias has told you about his speciality."


"Immortality." Kento answered. "But I refuse to believe that anyone can truly be immortal. There will be a way to defeat him."


Grayfia did not deny his claim, after all she knew that people like her and Sirzechs can easily kill the Phenex devils.


"The bigger question is… Who will be your other members, Rias?" Kento asked.


"You are definitely one as Riser will not allow otherwise." Rias answered. "Asia said she wants to help, so she will act as my bishop."


This made Kento surprised. "You did, Asia?"


Asia nodded. "Y-Yes!" She said. "I want to help as well."


"Asia can heal us all in case we get injured." Issei announced proudly. 


Kento wasn't sure if she would be able to heal everyone as her power output was also based on how much energy she can expand.


"I have Akeno as my queen, Kiba as my knight, Koneko as my rook, Asia as my bishop and Issei as my pawn." She said. "That leaves one knight and one rook position open for you to choose."


"Are you certain about that?" Kento raised an eyebrow. "There should still be a bishop open for me."


This comment made the people in the room a little awkward. 


"That… Is not possible." Akeno said.


"We… do have another bishop." Rias revealed, surprising Kento as well as Issei.


"Eh? Then why have I never seen that person, President?" Issei asked as Kento nodded.


"Same question."


Rias scratched her chin. "He… Is not in a state to fight or even make an appearance."


"Is he injured?" Kento asked, wondering if that person was safe.


"He isn't." Rias shook her head. "But he has a condition that makes it difficult for me to bring him to a fight."


Kento was confused as to why Rias would take such a person as her bishop. But upon realizing that it was not his place to worry about, he decided not to pry further.


"So, a knight and a rook, huh?" Kento muttered. 'A rook is best for hitting hard whereas a knight is better for agility.'


Both were good options, but Kento knew which was better.


'It is always good to have a stronger offense but if a person is not able to land a hit because of the lack of speed, then strength is useless.' 


"I think knight will be a good option." He smiled. 


"With your martial arts, I expected you to choose rook." Akeno said with Koneko nodding from the back.


"There are a few reasons." He said. "You will know during the game."


Because he was going to be chopping some chicken.

After the meeting with Rias' peerage, Kento decided to go home for the day. 


"These cream buns are delicious." Aika commented. "But I heard they released a new flavor. We should try it out sometime."


"Mm? Which flavor is it?" Kento asked, as the shop that Aika showed definitely sold the best cream buns.


"Hazelnut."


Kento wasn't sure if he wanted to try hazelnut on a cream bun. But so far, Aika's suggestions haven't disappointed him.


"So, is there anything that you are doing these days?" Kento asked at which Aika nodded.


"I have picked up the habit of reading." She said. "And currently I am getting interested in mythologies."


This made him quite surprised. "Really?"


"Yep." She said. "It is very interesting as I am not just going through the Shinto or the Christian mythologies, but also the Greek, Hindu, Aztec and many others."


Kento wondered what people would do if they knew that all the mythologies and religions that they talked about existed in the world.


'It would be chaos.' Kento knew that they would never stay silent if they learnt of this. Either they will blame the gods for not fulfilling all their wishes or they will go to war to prove that their religion is the strongest. 'It will be a war worse than the world wars.'


"Is there any mythology or god that interests you?" Kento asked, considering that there were so many interesting beings in mythology.


Aika nodded strongly. "I do."


"Oho?" Kento wondered who she found interesting. "Who is that?"


"Hades." She answered without a second of delay, confusing Kento.


"Hades? The God of the Underworld?" Kento raised an eyebrow. "Why him?"


"Because he is the most misunderstood." She explained. "Like many people think that Hades is the god of death, they also have the misconception that he is evil."


Kento knew that Hades was the god of the underworld and not the god of death, but he wondered where she got the information that he wasn't evil.


"Hades is a being that stays happy in his own little things." She said. "He is much altruistically inclined as compared to his brothers. In the stories, he is the most peaceful and impartial god."


"Oh?" Kento mumbled, recalling that he indeed never read anything bad about Hades. At least not as bad as his brothers.


"And while he is also a person who cheated on his wife, he never went after all the women he saw."


Kento agreed to this. He knew that he did cheat on his wife with a Nymph who later got turned into a mint plant by Persephone.


However, when compared to Poseidon who raped Medusa or Zeus who fucked almost every creature in existence –Hades was much better in this regard.


'This makes me wonder what the Hades of this world wants…' 


But as Kento was wondering about the Greek god, he got an unexpected offer.


"Kento."


He looked at Aika. "Yeah?"


"Do you… Want to go to my place?" She asked, a slight blush across her cheeks. "My parents are out of town."
