``You are telling me that you are out of town again?``
Rias didn't sound too happy about the whole running away from the church situation. Not to mention, they still had to talk about `them.`
Akeno had been asking her a lot of questions and in honesty, she didn't know what she and Kento were.
"You know that I have to do a lot of things since I don't have my father who can sort these things out." Kento said, not entirely lying. "I can't let my mom carry all the burden."
He was aware that Rias was confused about them. And Kento promised himself that he would sort those things out pretty soon.
With both her and Aika.
How was he going to do it? He didn't know.
But he was going to do it somehow.
"If things go haywire, call me." He said. "But I know it's an issue that you can solve on your own."
Rias felt a little sorry for reminding Kento about his father but she also knew that the boy wouldn't blame her.
As for Kento, he had to sort out a few legal things on his mother's behalf and after clearing that –he wanted to visit Susanoo.
After all…
It was time for him to be taught by a god.
Rias sighed on the call. ``Just don't push yourself too much.``
"You too."
…
…
Shinto pantheon was one of the chief pantheons on the higher end of the popularity spectrum.
While not on the same level as the Christian, Hindu, Buddhist or the Greek pantheon, –they were still one of the most powerful pantheons out there.
And in their current state, they were on the same level as the Norse pantheon.
It was true that the current Norse pantheon was only a shell of what they once used to be, but it did not change the fact that being on the same level as an once top pantheon was a major deal.
The Norse Pantheon was once one of the top three pantheons alongside the Christian and Hindu pantheon.
However, with the decline in Odin's health –the Allfather of Norse– and with the fall of Yimir, Mimir, Borr and Buri, the Norse pantheon's strength had declined immensely.
"However…"
An euphonic voice echoed.
"If our father and mother were still here… They would not have been any weaker than Mimir."
The voice was captivating, one that would put any man in a trance. And if her voice didn't –her beauty would.
"How I wish we still had them with us."
Despite her sad appearance, her beauty was undeniable.
Adorned entirely in gold by both clothes and jewelry, the thing that shone the most was her hair.
Yet even her luscious black hair that fell on her milky fair skin could not hide the most impressive thing about her beauty.
Her eyes.
"But we don't have them with us." She smiled, her eyes closing –hiding the rubies' shine. "So we have to look out for everyone on our own. Isn't that right, Kagetsuchi?"
In the massive room that could fit a hundred people –there sat only two beings.
One was the breathtaking goddess of the Sun, Amaterasu. The goddess whose beauty could even rival Kichijōten, the one said to be the Shinto goddess of beauty.
However, there was another being in the room.
The being was far different from the beautiful goddess.
His appearance was not something that could be classified as beautiful or even ugly. Mostly because his face was not something one could look at.
His face did not have a proper form, it changed with every blink.
Sometimes it appeared to be prettier than a god but sometimes, it would appear more hideous than an unholy monster.
That being was Kagetsuchi, the Shinto god of fire, craftsmanship and enchantments.
This being nodded. "Susanoo is looking for ways to strengthen our pantheon, even if it is by taking disciples."
Kagetsuchi was the first born child of Izanagi and Izanami that actually had the appearance befitting a god, unlike the god of luck, Hiruko.
Sadly for him, the god was born with a power that burnt his mother badly. The burn was so fatal that Izanami, his mother could not survive.
This caused his father, Izanagi to be furious and he ended up chopping Kagetsuchi into seven pieces that created seven other gods.
However, Kagetsuchi was a god that was born with divine power that rivaled both his parents combined and thus even after having lost his body, Kagetsuchi managed to manifest his soul into the world to continue to live.
This manifestation resulted in a major loss of his powers but it was a price he was willing to pay for his survival.
The lack of a body caused his figure to not be stable and thus his appearance changed with every second.
"He finally decided to take a new disciple." The goddess smiled, turning the room warmer and brighter. "He had a disciple during the Edo period. But he died in war."
"Tsukuyomi had one during the same time." The goddess recalled. "Yet the last time I had one was during the Asuka period."
"Maybe it is time you get a new one?" The fire god suggested but Amaterasu did not fancy the idea.
"I don't want to go through the pain of losing a child I care about once again, Kagetsuchi." She said, seemingly losing her smile. And this caused the room's temperature to drop.
Kagetsuchi was older than most of the Shinto gods and goddesses and as such, he had seen Amaterasu losing people she cared for.
"It's not like you ever had a disciple either."
This made Kagetsuchi's face drop a little. "I have my reasons, Amaterasu."
He never told anyone the actual reason and even Amaterasu was not certain.
Amaterasu was without any objection the most respected goddess of the Shinto pantheon who also possessed authority that many dreamt of.
There was currently only one person above her and that was her father Izanagi who had vanished after the sealing of his spear.
However, there was another who Amaterasu respected and believed to possess great abilities.
That was Kagetsuchi, the god that was in front of her.
Since Kagetsuchi was her elder brother as well as a great being who suffered great pain yet did not give up. She respected him immensely.
The only person who she believed could even come close to him was Ebisu.
"You can always get one if you wish to, Kagetsuchi." She said. "No one would even think of rejecting the proposal of the god of fire."
This put a smile on his face. He knew that his sister always had a way to lift up his mood.
"Maybe." He smiled, yet his face appeared horrifying instead of pretty.
"And I believe you will be going to test Susanoo's disciple?" He asked. "Is it because of the representative issue?"
Amaterasu's face suddenly turned serious. "It is." She said. "Him having a disciple is a good thing but for the disciple to be selected as a representative… I have to be certain of his abilities."
Being a representative did not just mean that the person was physically strong but the person had to have enough intelligence, patience and social skills to win over others.
"If you don't mind." The god suggested. "May I come with you to check on him as well?"
Amaterasu was taken aback by the sudden request but she didn't dislike the idea.
"That's…"
She knew that if there was someone better at judging a person's skills than her, it was Kagetsuchi.
"I would love that!"

[[A/N: (1) From now on, you all will have another extra chapter added to what was promised on the tier list: 6 instead of 5, 13 instead of 12, 19 instead of 18 and 26 instead of 25 chapters ahead of WN.
(2) Spy × Family slice of life won.
Now, When I say representative, I do not just mean one for the peace talks. This one is much more serious and important. We will be exploring it soon.
Hiruko also known as Ebisu was the first born of Izanagi and Izanami. But he was born deformed as Izanami asked Izanagi out. And according to their tradition, a woman is not supposed to ask a man out. So, their union resulted in the birth of the deformed god –Ebisu/Hiruko.
Hiruko was put on a boat and made to float away by his parents. (Kind of a dick move).
Ebisu was later prayed to as the god of the fishermen and good luck.
Later when Izanagi asked Izanami out, they had Kagutsuchi from their union. However, Kagetsuchi's birth burned Izanami and she died from the injury. Izanagi was infuriated by this and chopped the god of fire in 7 pieces. These seven pieces became the seven gods/volcanoes of japan.
In actual Japanese mythology, Kagetsuchi does not return unlike in this story.
Later, after doing everything, Izanagi went on to a river to weep. From Izanagi's left eye's tear –Amaterasu was born. From the right tear formed Tsukuyomi and from Izanagi's snot formed Susanoo.
'This being born from snot' thingy made Susanoo feel inferior and go on an entire rampage resulting in him getting exiled. (he redeems himself later on)
Mythology is very interesting, you can read/watch those stories for more info.]]
